“Shocking Customer Service”

Dropped my car off on Thursday 15 February 2023 for a computerised issue and 3 recalls. They called pretty sharp to explain delays due to requiring further information from their Technical Team which I accepted. By Monday 19 February 2023, I had heard nothing unless I called them (no updates provided), however when I called they advised they now had the information but my car was at the back of the que as other cars had came in since, to then go on and say that I'd just need to wait, they couldn't advise when my car would be seen, "just when they had time", also mentioning on two occasions that they've had cars there for "a week" (Service Advisor) and then "since last year" (Service Manager). To now, when I call they are refusing to speak with me and are passing pathetic messages of excuse onto the Receptionists. I've logged a formal complaint and written to the CEO. Unsure if it'll make the blind bit of difference. Their attitude is shocking and their Customer Service can't be described in words! They couldn't care a jot about their customers. My car is a Warranty job so isn't making them any profits so therefore chucked to the back of the que as their only interest is profits but like to portray themselves as 'Customer Focused', only when we part with our cash though!

“Lack of care”

Went to pick up my car after a 10000 mile service and found it heavily scratched on the driver’s door. The scratch was not there when I dropped the car off. Combined with other previous negative experiences I’ve had at Arnold Clark service, I’d urge others to use an alternative garage if they can. Where you have to use this dealership, make sure the they sign a damage check on delivery.

“Brilliant Customer Service”

Our Santa Fe was a super car but I went into Hyundai for help on this occasion. My Dad's car exhaust came off on the dual carriageway and representatives went above and beyond at the end of their day offering to help. Brilliant Customer Service.

“DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!”

Purchased a car from here less than 2 years ago and have had issue after issue. Service centre didn't pick up that it needed a new engine!! so was driving around for 3 weeks in an unsafe car with a toddler. Put it to peter vardy and they wouldn't give me it back until the engine was replaced. Have recently had to replace the battery which is already failing as now the electrics in the car aren't working. Contacted the dealership and the 'manager' I spoke to couldn't care less. Because I hadn't taken out extended warranty I was only covered for 2 months warranty so there is nothing they can do!! On top of these two major issues, I have had to fork out so much money on a car that constantly has something wrong with it. Absolute joke of customer services!

“Great Personal Service”

In early February, 2020 (before COVID-19 hit the UK) my Volvo XC90 required new batteries and, as I was about to travel from Orkney, where there are no Volvo Service Centres, to Aberdeen, I called Arnold Clark Volvo, Aberdeen. Despite the short notice, they were incredibly helpful and scheduled my car in. On my way south I managed to disable one of the rear door handle mechanisms and when I arrived at Arnold Clark, I explained. Again, they were so helpful - ordered the part and agreed to repair, once the part was received. My car was in for work on Tuesday, 11th and Thursday, 13th Feb. (As it happened, I was due to be in Aberdeen for a few days, as my Wife was at Woodend Hospital for hip surgery, so returning to have further work carried out was not a problem) They also carried out a complimentary 'health check' on the first day, which showed up a couple of issues. I asked for those to be sorted and this was agreed. I was staying at a hotel near Inverurie during this visit and had my 2 Labradors with me. The Service Staff were so kind and thoughtful, allowing my dogs to stay with me in the Customer seating area. They brought water and dog biscuits and took time to fuss over my dogs and chat to me, with offers of Tea and Coffee. All my experiences with Arnold Clark over the years have been excellent and this was no exception. I cannot praise your Service Team in Aberdeen enough for the attention they gave me and the quality of their work on my car. R G Maben, Westray, Orkney

“Stay away ”

Signed the paperwork I thought I'd check the car before leaving the showroom massive scratch in wing and door The sales guy said it would buff out i suspect the damage was done by one of there staff then did a bad job trying to patch it up. Keep the car I bought from a other dealer

“Can't fault them so far”

Went in to look at a used car, saw a focus I liked. Salesman couldn't be more helpfull. Arranged a test drive later that day, decided to buy the car but I was going on business a few days later. It was arranged I would sign for the car online and someone could collect it for me. All went to plan and the car was collected no problem and at a time that suited when I could get it collected.

“Nothing but problems”

We bought a Renault scenic just over a year ago. When we were viewing it we were advised that the car was tax exempt due to low emmisions. Due to the money we would be saving we decided that the car was within our budget. After buying the car we found out that the car had been taxed for 6 months after we were told about it being exempt. After weeks of being told the manager would contact me about it we finally received a call from a manager who had no idea why she was calling. I have to say she was very helpful and sent us a check to cover the tax for the next 3 years. ....1 year later we put the car in for its service and not ( we took the 2 year plan) car passed and service was done. When I got me car back it was covered in scratches. After being told they were already there by the first person the manager told me the same. He stated that the car was covered in old scratches so there was nothing they could do about the new ones. After about 10 mins he agreed to have someone buff the car and have it polished next week. So as I was leaving the car park I had a message on the dash board saying I had a problem with my hand brake. I've to bring it back tomorrow to have it looked at. So our car has come out worse than when it went in and I've not had one apology.

“Manager shockingly disrespectful and rude”

This occurred at Fiat/Kia Arnold Clark Aberdeen. On viewing a car I sat with the sales man and went over some figures, he went to the manager to discuss the part exchange value of my car which I had independently valued at several garages on online all returning around the £11,500 mark, on returning from the manager they quoted me £10,000 say that was £1,000 over what they wanted to pay. I explained the optional extras my car had and that the car I was looking to buy had several scratches, one or two scraped alloys and clay marks in the boot, I felt that warranted a deduction in price. The salesman went back to his manager then after 5 minutes or so the salesman and manager returned and abruptly interrupted mine and my fiancés conversation to scower in my face and tell me he will not sell me a car, the salesman looked embarrassed and shocked as were we, he then walked off as if nothing had happened. The salesman apologised on the managers behalf and hoped us the best with our search for a new car and we less, genuinely disturbed by the customer service of a manager at a professionaly dealership like that. This has put me off ever using Arnald Clark again.

Got a used car from this company a year ago and its been nothing but trouble since they are overpriced, unhelpful and not worth it and I would not recommend this company to anyone and regret ever getting my car from them

“Probably worst garage in Aberdeen”

Bought a used Astra from Craigshaw complex I was told it would be serviced and other appropriate work carried out. On driving home wasn't happy with brakes or handbrake, decided to check myself next day since they had allegedly did the work...absolutely appalled, brakes were in a terrible state, later on, I discovered the car had NOT been serviced even though they still claim it was. Car had 3/4 litre of oil above dipstick, have since given full service myself at my expense. Do NOT touch this company they shouldn't be trading as a business.

“Volvo Aberdeen”

I try to repair my car third time on Volvo Arnold Clark with the same fault (problem is dangerous for me and other drivers on the road) and service manager is very aggressive for me. First time when I said I am not happy, disappointed and I regret I bought a car from here, he asked me why I back to them if I am not happy? Why I didn't buy somewhere else? Today when I back again with the same problem, he start shout on me about bad review which I left about him last time on website. That's ridiculous. They want reviews, but when I left my opinion he was angry. I think he's behavior is not a good example for other staff. I am not happy from my car which I bought, because is more in the garage than on the road and they don't know what wrong, before staff was all the time nice and pleasant, try to help me and resolve my problem. I have no idea why this has changed. I have to back there tomorrow and I am afraid about the same reaction from his side, but I have no choice, spent lots of money I can't let go until the car will be fit to ride. Thank you.

“Go somewhere else”

Been here on multiple occasions, each one just the same. Not like this review is based on a ''one off'' or they had a ''bad day''. Keeping this short; from my experience, they have - on 2 occasions tried to get me to allow unnecessary repairs, very defensive (the older gent who works the service desk is actually borderline aggressive), totally inadequate explanation of faults - very much they will tell you anything in layman's terms. You're honestly far better going somewhere else! Just don't bother.

“fitted with part not needed”

i have putted my lexus is for computer check with a VSC fault..their computer readed ...speed sensor circuit...and instead fitting new cable circuit they have replaced speed sensor,that didnt solved the problem.after that i was told investigation is needed to find real fault..and what happend?they replaced circuit and everything is fine..so why they fitted speed sensor when computer chec show it in the fir place?..after i mentioned that and asked to put the old speed sensor back in the car or give me my money back i was told that the old one is in the bin and i still have to pay for a new one!!!absolutelly crap..not happy at all...just to mantion...i have paid for service almost 700 pounds and only part was really needed cost 30 plus labour..

“3 year sevice plan with first M.O.T”

I bought a new toyota rav4 it got its first sevice,a month after the first service, someone hut my car in my drive through my wall ended up in the middle of my front garden. We went to arnold clarks to buy another new rav4,we mentioned about our three year plan could it get tranfered over to the new car and we would pay for the first service the manager said he would look into it. We had to pay half the car then and the other half when it was ready to pick up. We went in once a week to ask what was happening to the service plan, the manager is still looking into it. Our new car took about 4 weeks to come and we had to pay the rest of the balance, and still no word about the service plan. Months went by then we were told we could not tranfer the plan to our new car. So we asked are we getting a refund. No refund we lost a lot of money. I personally think it is a scam, I can't believe they can get away with it. So my advice is stay away from Arnold Clark Toyota in Wellington Road. They don't care about there customers just the money.

Knew a friend who brought a car from them, what a terrible experience. The car was pretty new but they didn't do much to get it sorted. It ends up the car could almost end up in an accident. Read the comments from the others.

Bought a new ford fiesta from aberdeen ford at craigshaw. staff were friendly polite and non threatening. the salesman explained the differences between the models, gave me a fair valuation (i had checked up with we buy any car before going out) gave me a really good test drive and then put in mats after we had agreed a deal free of charge! car was spotless wwhen i picked it up, everything was well explained and i got a good finance rate. no complaints will recommend them.
