“Great value cars, but buy the extras!”

This was my first purchase of a nitro car and the overall experience was pretty good. Don't expect too much from the term 'ready to race' though. These cars come ready built, but getting the engine tuned up takes time and patience and the manual was pretty poor. YouTube has loads of great HowTo videos, and I suggest watching a few to get the engine working as it should. Also, breaking in the engine is a must if you want it to last and perform properly, and be aware this will get you through a few glow plugs and tanks of fuel. Buy at least two spares! When you order don't forget fuel, filter oil, and a starter set, plus batteries if you need them. These are fun cars, and really good value, but easy to damage due to the high speeds so be prepared to buy spares. Fortunately, these aren't too expensive either. Good fun!

“parts could be better”

Parts arrived today. Yama could have made a better job bearing seals are distorted and one bearing not seated fully.according to nitrotek website items sent recorded delivery,there not packet post but reckon I paid for recorded delivery.overall I will probably use them again but only if I have to.

“F14 model jet plane”

My wife and kids brought me my first plane for my birthday at the end of August on opening the package there was no instructions my son phone Nitrotek and was told he would need to download the manual from the website. There was no manual on the website so I had to start an enquiry with customer services. Once I had the manual it was clear that the battery charger sent was the wrong one. Nitrotek could not send me the correct battery charger because they were out of stock so sent me a link to eBay. I now have to return the wrong charger they sent at my own expense. It is now the end of September and still can fly the plane as I am awaiting delivery of the charger. All in all a shocking service from this company and I would not recommend them

 Great lil bullet buggy loads of fun and really really quick. Was even Suprised how long the battery lasts aswell. Need to buy a few parts to upgrade and some are very brittle. Needs bigger bumpers too but overall very happy with my purchase.

“Poor after sales service.”

Grandson purchased a Nitrotek Trojan Buggy with his savings, second time out the buggy had a mild shunt. Ok this was his fault,however both front shock absorbers were broken.I phoned Nitrotek Stockport and asked to purchase 2 new shockers and was informed they dont stock these items and I would have to buy the parts from another company and gave me the website to obtain the parts.Now to sell an item that will very likely have a fairly rough life and not keep spare shocks is disappointing, especially as on this model they have no protection whatsoever and sooner or later will be damaged. I wish we had done more research on choice of supplier but we live and learn, buyer beware.

“Marauder Desert Buggy”

This was the second time I have used Nitrotek and on both occasions I have found their service and products to be of a very high standard. The model was ordered at 12.00 on Thursday and arrived at 07.40 on Friday, thus justifying their claim of next working day delivery if ordered before 13.00. The car itself is awesome and does exactly what it is supposed to and seems to be very robust. The only comment would be to purchase a spare battery as the one supplied doesn't last very long and takes 5 hours to recharge. We went to our local model shop and purchased a 5000mah battery and charger. The one supplied with the car would have taken 20 hours to charge it so if you are buying a larger capacity battery you will need a different charger.

i don't understand what your saying abou the battery and charger your saying the battery that came with it takes 5 hours to recharge and your saying it takes 20 to charge. just for clarity because I'm after buying one myself and after 2and a half hours charging there still isn't enough power in it to turn the wheels.

My son bought a higher MAH battery from our local model shop. Whilst the charger which comes with the car is ok for the battery that comes with it if you want to buy a bigger battery which will last longer you will need to buy a different charger. Just to say about their after sales service: Its non-existent. If the car develops a fault they don't want to know. Personally I wouldn't use them again, their products may be a good price but the service is awful. I suggest you take a look at what other people have put about them and decide. I would recommend Howes Models. They are more expensive but their service is much better. Hope this helps.

“Good, but”

This is a good website, but, when the products go wrong, they refuse to replace them, saying that it is "the nature of the hobby " this means that when the parts add up to over £20, you aren't that happy. Also, when you have bought the parts, they then managed to get my postcode completely wrong. It also promised next day delivery, but it turns out it took 3 weeks.

I'm with this review..they are good but it took ages for things to arrived and I ordered two batteries and only one arrived same thing happened when I ordered my propellers. Now been chasing refunds of those items for more than a two months now..

your customer service after taking peoples money is shocking, your staff rude and unhelpful. After paying a lot of money for a remote control buggy and fuel plus extras, the item was not fit for purpose. Your staff do not know who owns the company or give me details of their line manager. I would definately not recommend your company to anyone. Since ordering these items, which I deeply regret now, I am seriously thinking of going to trading standards about Nitrotek.

I agree 100% with you. Shocking, rude customer service. Obviously they dont speak with each other in the office.... The product may be good ( I will defer, as after 6 days I'm still waiting for my ' next day' delivery.

The website looks good, the order easy... from then on its a nightmare. They dont respond to any messages... UNTIL.. you give neg feedback or offer criticism, then you get a threatening response. Go back to asking the original question ( which they ignored anyway) and it goes quiet again. For a leading UK RC Nitro company in the UK... they are hopeless and I wont be using them again...

“4.5 star rating - rubbish. Check the reviews properly!”

First bought a plane advertised as having a camera. It didn't. Eventually after months and months and emails going backwards and forwards I was offered a £15 credit and told the mistake was the manufacturers and some planes came with cameras and some didn't!! I accepted the credit thinking I would be able to use this towards spare batteries. Wrong - they don't stock spare batteries for this particular model. Some time later I tried again to by spare batteries for an RC helicopter. They didn't stock the ones I wanted (great modelling store ( don't think). Currently trying to return a product which was misdescribed over the phone by them. Email after email just trying to get the return form printed off. The navigation of their website is useless unless you want to buy something. Their customer service is dire, the emails have numerous spelling mistakes in them and are grammatically appalling. Everything seems designed to irritate the customer more and more, presumably in the hope they will give up their quest for a solution.

“Misleading advertisement and poor customer service”

Not as good as the others are saying. From my experience, their lowest price guaranteed promise is a lie. I tried to purchase a Heng long M41A3 tank from them listed as £79.99 and found it sold on another website for £64.99. I called Nitrotek for a price match but was told that they cannot match it because the other website is a trade seller who buys from them (Really?) Nitrotek said they will have to contact the other website first to find out why they are selling the same tank cheaper (WHAT?) This makes me feel that instead of lowering their price to be more competitive, they are trying to price fixing the market?? I do not think this is an ethical business practice! The Customer service staff I spoke to was John (he was polite but not very much help in sorting out this matter) and I raised a ticket for this as well which was not answered. Very disappointed shopping experience with Nitrotek, I expected much more from this well respected online seller.

“Worst on line experience ever.Customer service nil.”

DO NOT USE. I bought a Yama buggy from these clowns for my son's birthday in September 2014. After light use on day one the steering servo broke, they are a really cheap example Today is 13/02/2015 my son is on an inset day I have a day off and we have just fired up the buggy after it took this appalling outfit this long to resolve the issue and return it. The email exchange was in excess of 50, and they took at least 3 days to respond to each one. I took legal advice regarding a full refund but as they dispute the cause of the servo failure an independent assessment would have been required, so it was deemed more practical to wait for the cretins to repair and return. For your own sanity do not use as they have no interest in any customer service.

“Stay well clear”

Ordered my Nitro monster truck in April last year and within 20 minutes it stopped working. After endless emails I sent the truck back AT MY COST in October 2014......it is now February 11th and I still haven't got it back. After sales is non existent and they are unwilling to help when you do finally get to speak to someone.Oh, the reason I haven't got it back is because they have lost my paperwork.....typical !! This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with and they should be investigated and stopped. I am in the process of taking legal action and would be very interested to hear from other fed up customers and their experience with this sham of a company. Please email me. I do not want this company to treat others as I have been treated. Thank you

“the worst aftersle support you will ever find”

I really wish id checked these and other reviews before buying an expensive remote control Monster truck open it on Christmas day (treat from the wife), it works for 20 minutes then the throttle servo broke tried to call them no answer tried to email them it takes them two to three days to reply and so far I'm on email number 26 all they do is delay replying and although they have agreed to send me a replacement servo (of a different make and model)but they have not sent it - do not trust this company they will take your money and send your goods. but you just have to hope nothing goes wrong

“No aftersales support”

The after sales support is rubbish, you can call which takes 40mins on hold or you can use the aftersales email support, I have waited a week and had no reply even though they state 24hr response, do not use this company as they do not deliver on service, also the car arrived 3 days later than promised, go elsewhere for quality service.

I purchased a christmas present for my son from Nitrotek, costing hundreds of pounds. When we started to build it, the list of missing items grew. When we contacted them to supply the missing parts, they delayed, provaracated then failed to send anything. I cannot recommend strongly enough that you do not waste your money here.

“I SHOULD'VE READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND AVOIDED...”

Okay, I must admit, the Nitrotek products look good and the website also looks good, but good products should also have good customer service and good after-sales support. The only reason I gave one star is for the good looking products and my Pioneer Brushless Truggy is (or was...) pretty quick! The car was built with weak plastic and a weak shell – a car this quick should be built much stronger and if I'd have known how weak it was, I would've paid the extra to get the metal upgrades before taking it out of the box. After buying the car back in August 2014, I took it out for some good spins with my 5 year old who was very excited by the speed of the car and it was pretty good to drive and the first impressions were brilliant. It rolled a couple of times in September and the shell was destroyed and the front suspension shock tower snapped, leaving the car dead. I was annoyed at how little it took for the car to be ruined and I looked at the website to see which upgrades I needed but it wasn't very clear which parts I needed, so I gave Nitrotek a ring. I wanted to upgrade the rear one aswell, to avoid that breaking and I was advised which front and rear shock towers to get and which body mounts would fit on the new shock towers. From the start, I could see the body mounts would not fit on them because they did not have holes on the side to allow them to be attached to the towers, but after asking them twice, I was told that they are compatible, so I placed my order. I waited two weeks for the products to arrive and they only arrived after I complained about the lack of delivery. The so-called-upgrades arrived without the shell I ordered and after I sent yet another email, I was told it would be out of stock until Christmas – I thought that was pretty shoddy service. There has been lots of stress and several emails trying to explain that the body mounts DO NOT fit and two of my emails apparently arrived 'blank' which is complete nonsense and definitely a way for them to ignore my emails and give extremely bad customer service. The email responses usually took 2 or 3 days, but I once had to wait a week for them to respond. One reply from them said the body mounts ARE compatible; the next said they ARE NOT compatible; and the recent one said they ARE compatible. It seems the staff have poor product knowledge and do not know what they are talking about! We're now in December and I've waited three months with a dead car and no correct upgrades. I've complained to the 'complaints' service but I think I need to go even further than that and get a higher authority involved. I'm also considering keeping the metal shock towers which do fit, but somehow making my own body mounts and welding them to the shock towers. I can't do that until the new shell which I ordered three months ago arrives! If I could return the dead car, get a refund and have nothing at all to do with Nitrotek, I'll be happy. Avoid Nitrotek like the plague!

Hi, this varies, from 48hrs to 2 weeks, depending on stock availability. Their site usually tells you availability, but is not always 100% accurate.
