Awful declined my contract on security reasons but wont tell me what these reasons are. The network provider approved my contract but it was after this mobilephonesdirect decided to cancel my contract and not tell me until i contacted there CEO. All details i provided them with are my correct details from address to bank details so there is no security reason for them to decline my contract expecially after passing the credit check from the network provider. They refuse to provide me with exact details of the reasons behind the decline saying they dont need to tell me this information. I have reported them to trading standards

written by CourtneyAllen74 on 23/11/2017

This company is brilliant. This is the second time I have used them and they are so helpful and friendly. I did my research prior to them getting in touch and they met the best deal I could find on the market for the iPhone 8. Takes the hassle out of ordering a new phone and setting everything up as they do it all for you. Even told me how good the coverage was on the network I was switching to before I purchased. Also very useful how they organise the best time to call you as it fits around your schedule.

★★★★★

written by Marquesr46 on 20/11/2017

Efficient and painless process for my recent upgrade. The person I dealt with returned my call request within minutes and was helpful patient knowledgeable and friendly! Marked down the company as doesn't advertise upgrade plans to existing customers which would be useful so you can narrow it down and cost it prior to speaking to someone.

Total rip off and i cant wait to get rid.Avoid the cash back offers because its geared up so you cant be bothered with all the faffing around and dont bother in the end. They have made a lot of money out of me and my wife over almost two years, and they are history ASAP. If they call me they are gonna get a mouth full believe me.

“Confusion over PAC code”

★★★★☆

written by 42Foley on 21/10/2017

I ordered a Samsung 7 edge on a cracking deal after speaking to the sales team. They advised me to get the PAC code, which I past over. The day my new phone was expected with no phone I rang to chase and was told it was a problem with EAS I was staying with EE on phoning EE they said their was no issues and to talk to mobile phones direct again. I went back and forth between EE and mobile phones direct until I managed to get an answer from the technical team at mobile phones direct that because a PAC code had been issued that EE could not release the contract. I then had to ring EE again and get them to cancel the PAC code and ring mobile phones direct at which time they could sort out the contract and my phone arrived the next day. Please ensure your sales team are aware that if a PAC code is issued the contract cannot be put through.

written by yuWare72 on 29/09/2017

We ordered an I phone 7. After 2 weeks the phone became faulty, the home button stopped working. We boxed the phone up and sent it back to mobilephonesdirect, expecting the phone to be replaced. They then contacted us by email to say the phone was not in "pristine" condition and the sim tray had been used. No way "sherlock", how did you think we had managed to use it for that period of 2 weeks. They have now send back the faulty phone and told us to take it to Apple Please note that under the Consumer Goods Act , I am entitled to a full refund as I have returned the faulty good within 30 days and anyone else who has the same problems should insist on the same Better still buy from someone else I would definitely not use this business and will be notifying the service provider of the shocking customer service

written by 495Frost on 16/09/2017

Ordered a phone on Monday 11th. Updates on a daily basis that my phone should be expected on the 14th September. Took today off work. Come 14.16 on the day and I get an e-mail telling me the phone I ordered is not in stock. Surely they must have known it wasn't in stock earlier? I was offered a different phone but if i'd wanted that phone I would have ordered that phone. Not even the courtesy of calling to tell me I would have no phone. If I had been given warning yesterday or even this morning (surely you lot knew at this time?) they would still have my business. Not now. I'll take my cash to their competitors. There was no rude conduct by any agent but this is absolutely naff service.

written by 280Shaw on 29/08/2017

I got a contract about three months ago at first i was very happy, right up until i had a problem with the phone. When i contacted customer service they fobbed me off, and told me basically it's nothing to do with them there a retailer not a repair shop and i will have to pay for the phone to be repair or replaced. they were less than helpful and in fact they started to get a bit rude when i complained as i wasn't made aware this when i purchased the contract. If i could give the company a rating of no star it would be generous i wish i stayed away

I GOT A CONTRACT THROUGH THEM INCLUDING A SAMSUNG 5S, TURNED OUT THE PHONE HAD AN INHERENT FAULT AT SD CARD READER SLOT. TOOK IT TO SAMSUNG SHOP WHO SAID THE HANDSET WAS AUSTRIAN AND WAS NOT COVERED IN THE UK. SPOKE TO MPD WHO INSISTED I GOT WRITTEN STATEMENT FROM SAMSUNG. WHEN I PROVIDED ALL THE EVIDENCE. THEY ASKED ME TO SEND IT BACK BY RECORDED DEVILRY WITH THE PROMISE OF FIXING IT AT THEIR SUPPLIER LEVEL IN AUSTRIA, TIME GONE AND I KEPT ASKING FOR MY PHONE BACK AND TOLD "IT'S I AUSTRIA" AFTER 6 MONTHS OF CALLING AND BEING PUSHED AROUND, I VENTED MY FRUSTRATION WHEN TOLD ITS STILL IN AUSTRIA I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE SUPERVISOR WHO SAID SORRY IT WAS HERE ALL THE TIME AND NEVER LEFT THEIR SITE, THEY SENT BACK UNFIXED, IN THE SAME PACKAGE I SENT IT TO THEM AND ARE REFUSING TO ANSWER MY EMAILS. IN MY OPINION A CUSTOMER IS ONLY WORTH THE MONEY THEY PAY. I WOULD NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN OR REFER THEM TO ANYONE.

Are all mobiles from mobile phones direct brand new? (Unless it specifically states it's refurbished) I have just pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and want to make sure the handset I am getting will be brand new factory sealed and not one somebody has returned after the 14 day refund period.

I purchased a Samsung phone from mobilephonedirect and it was brand new. I would be confident and especially as its pre-ordered that the phone is a complete new phone unboxed. When your new to a Company like this one it can be an unsure experience of what service you will be provided with. I can be completely happy and reassured you will be satisfied with the customer service as i have been.

If it say it's a brand new phone then it should be brand new. My phone was advertised as brand new and it was brand new and sealed when I have received it. If this answer your question.

I've had 2 new and 1 refurbished from them. The new ones really are new - sealed box with ALL the correct contents. The refurbished one was indistinguishable from new - so no problem there either. Over a number of years, I've found them a good and reliable outfit to deal with.

I would personally approach your network carrier first as they ultimately supply your phone, phones direct or other similar companies are simply middle men or brokers so to speak, but you do of course always have the manufacturer guarantee, hope this helps.
Report this content Fenderblender Written on: 20/12/2016
Your contract is with the supplier of the handset which in this case is Mobile Phones Direct so you should always approach them first. If there are Network or operational issues with the phone then contact the carrier to see if they can resolve them for you but ultimately your contract is with MPD.

If it's the phone then I would go to mobile phone direct , if it's the network then go to the provider. I agree with the below who said your contract for the phone is with MPD.
Report this content bristoca Written on: 21/12/2016
I would say Mobile phones direct if within the warranty period if outside probably network operator.
Report this content Doubtful22 Written on: 21/12/2016
It depends on time since purchase, if it's within a month contact Mobile phones direct, if longer contact Samsung or HTC etc. You can't contact the network because they simply provide the contract and not phone.
Report this content Dragstone Written on: 12/04/2017
Thats a very good question, i would of thought that the phone is delivered by or sent by mobile phones direct and should be their responsibility to assure that they support and help you with the phone in question. With insurance of the phone its usually the insurance company or if you purchased insurance with mobile phones direct that they will help and support you.

Bought an iPhone 7 not on a contract, which is initially unlocked but I think I read that it will lock to the network of the first SIM card inserted. Not sure if this is the case if you buy direct from Apple, their website didn't make this clear, but I would suspect so. Can't comment on any other phones, etc.
Report this content Fenderblender Written on: 20/12/2016
Phone was supplied unlocked but with the new 3 Nano SIM as you are taking out a binding contract with that supplier to use their network so not sure why you are concerned that it is supplied unlocked? Your contract for the handset is with Mobilephonesdirect so any issues with that should be addressed to them initially and not the carrier.
Report this content Dragstone Written on: 12/04/2017
If you purchased your phone sims free then yes it should be unlocked or if you have an old phone that you wish to unlock then ask the network you got it from to unlock for you.

You just have to wait till they get it in stock. If you try to cancel you wont be able to get through on the phone or by email. I actually found another telephone number to their head office in Newbury. They will take your name and order number and get mobilephonesdirect to call you which will save you a fortune. I actually wasted almost ten pounds in calls.Hope this helps. Good Luck!!
