“I bought a Neff oven, extractor fan, induction hob and...”

I bought a Neff oven, extractor fan, induction hob and dishwasher via their website. The goods were delivered three weeks later. When they arrived, the packaging of the dishwasher and oven was damaged. The oven had been opened and had been marked "Warehouse inspected". The driver assured me that the goods would be OK. I checked the oven and dishwasher and they seemed fine. The packaging was intact on the hob and hood so I assumed they would be fine. My kitchen fitter opened the hood package today to find that the cooker hood had been damaged in transit. I called Marks Electrical immediately and the advisor who said that she was a customer service manager could not have been more unhelpful. She was rude, unprofessional and disinterested. She said that as I had not called them to report damage within 48 hours they flat out refused to do anything. I explained that we were getting work done and I was waiting for the new kitchen to be installed but she was completely unwilling to help and told me to contact Neff. I reminded her that my contract to supply the goods was with her company and perhaps they should liaise with Neff. She then agreed to contact Neff. It is worth mentioning that I spent almost £3,000 with Marks Electrical. I called Marks Electrical a couple of hours later to find out the outcome of their correspondence with the manufacturer and was told that Neff closed at 4:00pm so she couldn't reach them. I then called Neff and they told me that their hours are 8:00am-8:00pm and nobody from Marks Electrical had been in contact. I've now asked Marks Electrical for a refund under the sale of goods act and if its not forthcoming I will be issuing proceeding in the smalls claims court. In the meantime - BUYER BEWARE and avoid Marks Electrical... I will I had read some of these reviews beforehand.

I am not sure why you continue to post the same false information over and over.

You have already been made aware that the specific Neff department needed to speak to closed at 4pm while the Neff general customer services stays open until 8pm. Anyone can call Neff and verify that. Asking the wrong Neff department if they have heard from us isn't going to achieve anything.

We have agreed to collect your item and refund your money which is what you requested, despite the fact we are under no legal obligation to do so.

Most companies would not have done this as you went a long time past the period in which you are entitled to a refund from us.

Yet despite our goodwill, you have done nothing but try and exacerbate the issue, even though we have agreed to give you what you requested long before you wrote your post here.

Our high customer service ratings on multiple review sites shows that these incidents are rare and when they occur we try our hardest to resolve matters as we have done on this occasion.

Thanks for the feedback regarding the spelling of one of the emails sent to you. Emails are almost always spell-checked but on this occasion it didn't happen.

The important thing is that your item is going to be collected and your money refunded, something you have been informed of now multiple times.

1) Calling your customers liars when they complain about the woeful service you have provided is not really going to solve their issues is it?

2) Your customer service staff clearly have problems with both customer service and honesty. If Neff say that you haven't been in contact - then clearly you hadn't. They had no reason to lie to me. Given the reluctance of your staff to sort out my problem when I first made contact - am I surprised that nobody from your end called the manufacturer?

3) I would disagree that these issues are quite rare. Out of all your ratings on Yell.com 10% of your customers gave you 1 star because they think you are rubbish. 1 in 10 unhappy customers is not rare!

4) Sadly, the emails (posted below) that you send to customers are indicative of the level professionalism that comes from your business:

"Dear

I can not contact the general customer service line i will need to contact sales to get an authgorisation number and then speak to reatiler support so although i know the customer service line is open intill this time they will not be able to asssist me as a retailer .
As advies yesturday i am looking in to this an dwill then contact you

"

5) As yet, I am still waiting for my refund. The goods were collected on Saturday. It's now Wednesday and I have received nothing...

We went to Mark Electrical on a Sunday to order a bracket to put our tv on the wall. He couldn't have been more helpful. There were none in stock, but he said one would be delivered to us on the following day. Promptly at 1 pm,in our time slot,our bracket was delivered. Brilliant service for something that only cost £33. I would not hesitate to use or recommend this company.

I bought an American Style fridge freezer, theL LG appliance was delivered on time, in perfect condition, and the delivery men were pleasant and helpful. They had to take the handles of the fridge to get it through my internal door, which they were quite happy to do, and they took my old fridge freezer away from my kitchen. Very pleased will buy from this firm again.

Absolutely fantastic service from first of contact to delivery, very rarely delivery man impresses me but i take my words back, these 2 young man were on time and very polite. I ordered electric oven rather then gas, when i called they were very helpful. Marks Electrical delivered gas oven next day and collect electric one without any issue. This is the first time I have used the company, but will not be the last. The price was very competitive, no delivery charge, and only£1.00 surcharge to use a credit card. What more could one want! We needed a dishwasher because the integrated one in our new home was not working. Not used to washing up in the sink, a speedy replacement was a must have. Marks electrical was the cheapest supplier of the Bosch machine we wanted, and promised next day delivery. All promises were fulfilled. Machine arrived early the next morning, 15 minutes into the 2 hour delivery slot we were promised. An excellent service. 1st class.

The web page was easy to follow. I ordered my rangemaster cooker and hood. It was in stock, but once the goods come in, they notify me immediately and the goods was delivered the next day and within the time slot they say which was amazing. The delivery team phoned me to say they are half an hour away. Very impressed with their service.

Needed new American Fridge / Freezer as old one broke Sunday afternoon. Placed order Sunday night, item delivered Tuesday. Not only a good price, but great to get delivered quickly and with a time slot (and phone call half hour before arrival). Delivery guys fantastic, so helpfull.
