I have used this company many times, remember they are only brokers and not actual car hire company . In Malaga all car hire company's charge you for a full tank of petrol if you keep the car over 3 days. If you call DYS after you book they will change your booking to a return full. The 3 euro's a day insurance that all companies charge i never paid so the cost they quote is the cost i pay.

what an appalling company!! So called inclusive rates are fictional - watch out for one-way charges that are not shown in their pricing. They don't respond to emails nor to phone calls. Should be totally avoided.

Absolutly the worst customer service i have ever experienced.
I have used them once before, but NEVER again. They claim that cancelations are free, however if you try to cancel your booking, be sure, they will NOT reply. They do not reply to any e-mails i have sent them.
They also claim that there are no hidden fees - however on my 51 euro booking, there was an aditional 100 euros, to pay on location, that did NOT show up on the quote.
My advice - stay away! I'm using holidayautos.com again

It was our first time hiring a car in Spain so we had nothing to compare it to. We didn't realise that you need a credit card to collect the car until we had the paperwork through.As both of us do not have a credit card we tried contacting DO you Spain and did not receive any reply. However on arrival at Malaga airport we were told by a helpful Rep that this wasn't a problem but we would have to pay extra insurance at 3 euros a day.
We also had to pay for a full tank of fuel which was stated in the original quote.All in all an extra 116 euros, this included some taxation. Since returning home we have been sent £5 from the company.Not sure why but it all helps. Overall apart from customer service we do not have any other complaints. The car was clean and new and it was straight forward to collect and return. We might consider this company again if we returned.

I have booked a car for May 2011 and unfortunately need to cancel. I have now sent 4 seperate emails requesting cancellation and have had no response at all to any of the emails.Fortunately as no monies have been paid it's not the end of the earth but from a customer service viewpoint the service is terrible. on their website i can find no telephone number which is not a good sign!

We booked as we have used before in Spain and been fine. When we collected the car we were intiallaly told aditional drivers are free by DYS we were charged 17.50Euro Plus tax they then charged us 44 Euro for fuel in a Fiat pande again plus tax, then to ad insult to injury they told me i was not fully insured and would have to pay 30 Euors per day for extra cover 210 Euros the hire was only £84.00...Please if you book read the small print as when you complain they take to it on there website and say it depends who we hire the car through (Goldcar) additional cost may be charged! Front page of Website says fully inclusive hire to include Extra drivers and fully insured!!! BE CAREFULL dont let these guys ruin your holiday.

I received a very competitive quote from Do You and decided to book with them. However, when we arrived we had to pay 18% i.v.a. on both the booking charge and the fuel plus another 35 euros for insurance. I thought we possibly would have to pay extra for insurance but was not expecing the i.v.a. charge. I feel that I was deceived by Do You Spain and in reality the booking fee was not correct as it was not made clear that an extra 18% would be due. This is the first and last time I will use them as other car hire companies have always included i.v.a. in the price, so you know what you are paying

I have used this company several times; previously the service has been sound. My complaint is that on this occasion (hire date 5 Jan to 10 Feb) I had need to contact DYS soon after to inform them that I had returned the car a little early and that they should advise the supplier (Record) so that the latter could re-imburse me appropriately. Secondly, I pointed out my concern that the vehicle had no water in the windscreen washer tank and - far worse - that the oil level was below the recommended minimum, and therefore dangerous. In the nine days since my return to the UK I have e-mailed the company four times and have not had as much as an acknowledgement. This is unacceptable. From now on I shall do no more business with them and will avoid anyone enquiring of me about Spanish car rental to avoid DYS at all costs.

Do you Spain appeared to be the most reasonable car hire for this area of the Canaries and booked in good faith thinking I had paid in full when booking. When we collected the car from Goldcar the agent I gave my c/c in thinking as I had hired many time before this was just customary for them to protect themselves in the event of any damage to the car. I specifically asked the member of staff who was dealing with us that as the car had a full tank of petrol that I was to return it the same way I was told yes this was correct. I re-filled the car at the end of the hire period and dropped it off before boarding my flight. To my horror when I arrived home my c/c statement was waiting with a charge of £70 debited from Goldcar!! I telephoned Do you Spain to complain and was told that they would e mail Goldcar re this overcharge and e mail back. No e mail has been received and now nearly 3 weeks have passed. In addition the car was in poor condition, the aeriel had been snapped off therefore no radio...I would say to all that consider using this company DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!

Firstly this 'no hidden extra costs' company charged us 80 euros for a full tank of petrol.... thankfully we were staying long enough to use it all unlike our friends. Then because i had the wrong kind of bank card we got charged an extra amount for insurance...... To top it all though i got back home to find that a further 100 euros had been taken from my bank account for a 'SPECIAL CLEANING SERVICE'. Even the photos they sent us as proof proved only that the car only needed hoovering.
My advice. Only hire a car from this company if you are NOT planning to go to the beach on holiday or if you are planning to carry a vacuum cleaner with you in your holiday luggage.

Booked a car through DoyouSpain. Previously only used them for airport collection/return. This time only wanted a car for a few days as the holiday was for 18 days. I was allocated Goldcar in the Benidorm new town. While I was waiting for the paperwork to be prepared I listened to a customer who was not happy with the Goldcar fuel policy. The usual threats such as I will not use you or DoyouSpain again were issued. When i returned the car I was charged for fuel from my fuel deposit and I felt ripped off as I am sure they estimated I owed more than I felt I owed. Furthermore, it was a diesel car and they told me i had to pay an extra 2euros a day as it was a diesel. I don't know if the car I had requested would have been a diesel.Loking now through the customer reviews I am even more sure I was ripped off. It is a shame as the other hire quote I had was for a few euros more. Still it is the principle that is annoying me.

Hired for about the 20th time through Doyouspain. We were given Goldcar in Benidorm who have a terible reputation for adding on the extra charges that DoyouSpain say they do not add on. Doyouspain also advertise "no last minute surprises" Do not Please BELIEVE these written statements.
This car hire started in the low 20euro price range. A few days after we booked we were told they could not supply from their main supplier so we had to pay in the low 30s from another hire firm. I phoned their main supplier who is the notorious add on charges Goldcar in Benidorm. They said they had the same type of vehicle available so clearly a DoyouSpain scam. However, to get the vehicle I had to pay the increased amount. On collecting the car I was then told there is a 7.50 extra (for 3days) charge for an extra driver. I pointed out DoyouSpain advertise no charge for a 2nd driver. I was told that the charge was a Goldcar condition. Doyouspain do not advertise any extra charges for a diesel vehicle but for years now GOLDCAR have been addding on 2 euros a day for diesel hire. I returned the car with a full tank because a 3day hire can be booked FULL/FULL return. Nevertheless, GOLDCAR said sorry we still have to deduct a minimum amount even when you do not owe us any money for the already prepaid for fuel, 84 euros. Consequently, for no real reason another 13euros was deducted. WHY? Some waffle was given and the amount deducted from our fuel deposit of 84.00 euros. So, for a hire described by Doyou Spain as "NO EXTRA CHARGES" we paid 3 extra never originally mentione charges when we booked. People in Benidorm call Goldcar "Do You Goldcar" and they certainly do, do you. I am writing to DoyouSpain and will report back.

I book through DYS, after a number of years successful previous experience, including 3 or 4 at Lanzarote. This year DYS change hire company to Gold Car. I needed a car on holiday for casual use to apartment and poss poor weather. Been to Lanzarote many times, seen all the sights, don't wnat to drive much. Previous hire Co allowed fuel tank to be returned at same level as start. This time - I was charged 59 Euros for full tank - 45 litre Opel/Vauxhall Corsa Diesel. Local ave fuel cost 0.80/0.82 Euros = 36 Euros! My car was pre-paid in UK, so had no choice - only used 1/4 tank - say 10/12 Euros - Hire co would not make any refund - WHAT A RIP OFF! DON'T Pre-pay for hire in UK. If I had'nt - I would have cancelled!!!!

I booked the car through Carhire3000 which is part of traveljigsaw.com on line in the UK. That part was OK. On arrival at Alicante Airport I was allocated the wrong car by Auriga Crown. When booking I specifically stated that I wanted a Fiesta which was one of the cars available within the price band. I was assured this would be OK, to get my business no doubt. However, on arrival I was given a basic Kia and after another long wait in the que I eventually left the airport with a Fiesta, very hot and stressed 2 hours late! Not a fit state to embark on a trip through the Spanish countryside!
The same old story, petrol tank full and charged at a premium. Taking the car back empty is impossible so they sell a proportion of the tank over and over again.
Auriga Gold deducted 300 Euros from my credit card and kept it for 7 days then refunded it LESS the loss on the exchange rate which was about £15.00.
I have subsequently been told that I should have been given the choice to have the deposit taken and refunded in Sterling but that was never offered to me - I wonder why?
In conclusion - watch out for the little "rip-offs" they add up! And as far as Auriga Gold is concerned - avoid them at all costs or you will be financially penalised.

Have used DYS for a number of years and they've always produced. They're a broker and usually find the best price. Also they're not responsible for the car hire companies stitching us up with exorbitant prices for a full tank of petrol.
Normally get a car with less than 20,000 miles on the clock but bodywork can be scratched. Staying with the standard DYS insurance has never left me with a problem.
Have been recommended to take out an annual excess insurance in the UK to cover all hire car costs for about £50. This covers the windscreen, tyres and underside of the car which is what they try to sell you on arrival.

**AVOID THIS COMPANY** DoYouSpain.com car hire. Awful. We paid a bit extra for a nice car described as a VW golf or similar. We were kept waiting at the booking desk with two young children for about an hour in the middle of the night for no real reason. There was then a long walk to the car which turned out to be a battered Citroen Berlingo van which they had forgotten to put the baby seat in. There was also a last minute additional charge which had never been mentioned before in relation to insurance. This made their prices then seem average. When we saw the van/car the office was closed by this point so I could do nothing at that time. The car had no power steering until about day 8 when it suddenly kicked in. This coincided with the air conditioning breaking down. We could not get hold of anyone by phone to complain. All emails are being ignored by the company. Their prices were excellent, but I should have known that when prices seem to be too good to be true there is a reason.

We hired the car for 4 days at a total cost of 72.73 Euros. Good price. On there website they say there are no hidden charges. However when we went to pick the car up we had to pay 70 Euros for a tank of fuel. I think this is an extortionate cost & we did not have the option of either returning the car with a full tank of fuel or filling it ourselves. We only had the car for 4 days so was rather difficult to use a full tank in that time.
I recently hired a car in Canada & only paid $40 for a full tank there also was given the option of filling the car ourselves.
I think it should be made clear that the fule is not included in the hire cost

Had to queue for 90 minutes on a Sunday,only 4 staff working,specifically requested estate car as we had golf clubs as well as cases, didnt get it, car was not in best condition,mind you it did have a full tank of petrol,chaos when we returned the car 2 weeks later,basically just parked and left it. As others have reported,no hidden costs is complete rubbish. Have used before but wont again and get absolutely zero response from emails complaining. THEY JUST DONT CARE

I cancelled my reservetion 2 times (because the price was lower) and recived my response after one day. Concerning the hidden fees I have to say that everyone that is writing in this site may have not read the site because in the section "customer support"it's explained that car key lost, windsccreen damage, flat tyres and inadeguate refuelling are not included! so read read read before writing!
