I got this set last year, i needed long lasting tyres with good greep. I drive most in the mountains and i push my bike as much as it can go. After 4000km ONLY the rear is finished but otherwise i am happy with the performance and i order new set

These come as standard when purchased, front tyre has worn on right side with flat spots but left side has full tread, back is fine after 3k indicating no uneven wear. Cornering has always felt vague on right handers and left handers it just wants to pick the bike up so you need bottle to go into the corner. I do not go scratching - just days out of 200 - 300 miles with no pillion tyre pressures always checked before going out as per manual Can't wait to bin these

this tyre is the Honda's recommended tyre for this bike !!!!! really???? this is supposed to be a sport touring tyre which means handling + durability. my back tyre lasted 4000 miles with the 3 punctures. it could have lasted 4500 miles but even that is an average not touring tyre and my VFR is no heavy GOLDWING and hard on tyre!!! ... it cracked on the first 150 miles and took puncture ... cracked ... and I ran it 50 miles gently for the tyres to set in. riding wasn't gentle and 95% was city riding. HANDLING: it doesn't inspire confidence but I risked my bike and bent it knee down low and it held on, but didn't have the guts to do the same in the wet so it is no sport tyre. Front tyre is absolutely fine no crack no puncture and has plenty thread left after 5K miles I reckon it will do 7500 miles. and again it doesn't inspire confidence but holds on. NOT ENOUGH.

I have these on my Deauville NT700V, they have never let me down but after 5.5k they need changing. Will be trying the Avon Storms next
The road holding has been fine in either wet or dry and the feel from the road ok.

As tyres go the BT021's aren't bad. They certainly don't seem to be the best out there, but on my ER6F they have had a long life (over a year and a half and about 9000miles). Handling is onkay but as others have stated don't try and lean too far! Most of the time I haven't had any real issues with them, only now that they are getting old have I noticed any grip issues. They are a little on the expensive side though.

What if everybody made a claim to Bridgestone, NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, NOT OF MERCHANTABE QUALITY. The list goes on, no wonder they are superseeded by the 023, in such a short time after the 021's were released. Bridgestone have a major product cock up on their hands. They should issue a voucher for a reasonable refund.
But that would lead to litigation, like everyone else trusted Bridgestone's record for good products, next time I will not be so hasty in fitting tyres before researching some reviews on products.
My bike is a Blackbird and Honda have had a close association with Bridgestone
so you would guess this 021 tyre would be a good choice. Not the case its a heap of c**p fit only for maybe a wheel barrow, not a motorcycle!

This is an old thread but never the less I am compelled to write. My bike is a triumph Legend , the original Bridgstone tyres managed 12,000 front and back. Swapped to BT21's and the rear managed 2,500 and the front 3000 to 1mm tread. I replaced with avon storm and have since clocked up another 10,000 miles. The front and rear look hardly worn. I personally will never buy another Bridgstone tyre. The BT 21's wore at a terrible rate and even then the grip was not that good. Several times in cold weather it would let the back end slide. (maybe the lack of grip caused the tyre wear ?)

Have to say that I have done thousands of miles, both daily commuting and fast leisrue riding, on a gsx 650 and these tyres have been fantastic. Great wear rates, inspiring handling, good feedback. In short great value and have never had and issue with them. In short I am not sure I would want to fit anything else !.

Greetings all. I got suckered into buying a BT021 front tyre from a local dealer for my ZZR1100. Reasonable price, but now I know why. The tyre has a developed a flat spot and massive ridge around the centre circumference. The dealer said I had the pressure too low. Bull@#@t - I ran 38-39 psi. Never buying this rubbish again...... Pity I didn't read the other reviews before putting this trash on my bike.

on a ducati 620 multistrada these tyres are diabolical.
i wont get to know durability as they are so dangerous i am taking them off at 500 miles.
the bike slides at anything near a decent angle of lean.
awful.
i wish i could sue for my money back.

I just bought the Cours14 in Sept. and immediatly was unsure of the tires. They seem to have great straight line traction, but cornering is a different animal. Bought the first Concours in '86 with Dumflops on it and was more confident with those than I am with these things. I am very parinoid of the four wheel drivers out there, but these things make them look safe. Wow how could Kawi decide to shoe this machine with these rubbers? I promise I will wear these tires out in a hurry, at least the rear one.

I've done about 2000kms on my BT021's and they are absolute rubbish. The road noise is almost louder than the unrestricted ducati monster 1000. I love to chuck it around but with these tyres I'm scared I'll chuck it into a tree . No confidence in front end and rear slips far too easily.
Sorry Casey Stoner who led me to buy these rubbish tyres I'm sure you can ride better than me on these things.
Going back to Michelin ASAP... Going to try the new MICHELIN POWER PURE.
Hope they give me my confidence back for my P.I. Track day :)

I'm so glad I found this review. I replaced my 020's with a pair of 021's a couple of years ago. Regretted that decision since. Handling has been sporadic and now my front tyre is wasted whilst the rear has plenty of life left. Same old stepping problem. In short- these tyres do not inspire confidence, handling is dreadful at times and front wear is pathetic nd in my opinion dangerous. I wish i'd seen this review before I purchased. I'm not even going to consider the new 023's. Sorry Bridgetone, you've lost this rider.

Hmmm where do I start...got my 99ninja 600 running 021 on the front and this feels fine, and rode with an 020 on the back which was fantastic but eventually needed replacing so opted for the 021. BIG mistake as I have lost all road handling competancies in the wet at all speeds { normally low speed as to afraid to go quick as the bike wants to go straightand misses roundabouts and I'm not blowing this out of proportion. Riding in the dry is not a problem good stick and can get her down but i have become an amateur in the wet...time to move to sunnier climbs { not an option } so a new tyre it is { again }

Ran bt020 on my 600 ninja for 7500 miles with no problems and life left in them, Replaced with bt021 after hearing about better grip and milage, then had to change the front 021 after 12 weeks and only a 1000 miles due to centre wearing down to limit and sides worn flat (looked like 3 sides of a fifty pence piece), rear is better now done 3500 mile but not happy with bridgestone tyres, would like to try the new bt023 but cant afford to make same mistake, so i will fit avon ultra 2 instead wont be buying bridgestone again.............

well all I can said, I hate this tyre! makes me mad! the front end constantly gives me trouble, skids and feel like is loose all the time even in hot weather... have to change them as Q as possible. the only good point of them is milage...but I want to get my fun on the bike back, so I have to get set of Michelins or Pirellis... (BT021 is not good on CBR!)

BT020s were a very good tyre except with a scalloping problem to the front tyre. My expectations!
BT021s' promised to be a better tyre for sports tourers with extra load rating for the heavier tourers, well what a let down. Bridgestone did you get it terribly wrong? Handling got worse the more they wore and wore very quickly they did. Expect and a couple 1000 klicks (klm) less than comparible tyres, If there are any left, (BT023s' I expect will/have replaced them) don't buy the BT021's unless they are 1/2 price because they are only 1/2 the tyre in comparo to others and in my opinion a much inferior tyre. (Rider - Medium aggressive rider and pressures to bike manufactures specs as were those I have used and compare with) Metzlers Z6, Pirelli Diablo much better thank you. If Bridgestone would like to admit their stuff up I would greatfully aqccept a half price refund. I wish!

Hi , Ive an ST 1300 and have always run bridgestone 020s, last July i replaced rear tyre 170/60/17 with a sports touring 021, 3'5 K later it has pitted rubber, like overheating, gone out of shape, and more dangerouasly, SUDDENLY developed a bald strip on the crown with wire protruding, my dealer says that bridgestone have been aware of these probs and have NOW !!!! rectefied them, horrible tyre,

Never have I had a front tyre wear out quicker than a rear. The rear tyre is showing about half worn when the front (they were fitted as a pair) was illegal on the left hand side and had a bit of life left in it on the right hand side. I replaced it after less than three thousand miles. I would normally expect 7k or more miles from my front tyre.
The dealer said they hadn't had any bad comments from anyone else but a quick look on tinterweb after I'd got a replacement front 021 (horse bolt/stable door I know)it seems people are haviong the same problems.
I've just scrubbed the front in over a 300 odd mile dry ride into the Highlands - you know the roads, beautiful surface and 60mph every where sweeping bends and the front looks a bit like a black tyolean wall either side of the centre contact patch. I'm a bit worried about how long this one will last now.
When they are new these tyres are superb however.

These tyres came as standard on my brand new Kawasaki 1400 GTR last year.
3500 miles later I had a very close shave due to un-even wear on the front tyre. It is down to the legal limit on the right side yet has a good millimeter left (above wear bar) on the left side!
Strange wearing that way when you consider that in this country your sharpest turns are to the left so I am at a loss to explain that other than to think the tyre compound is faulty.
I am very upset that Kawasaki chose to make these sub-standard tyres the standard for my bike and I will be replacing them with Michelin thanks to the advice in review centre... Thanks Review centre

Bridgestone 021s not for me, I have done a lot of miles in my 40years of bikes and speak after using many different tyres any many different compounds. I also fit tyres. Where did such a firm go wrong with these tyres. They go out of shape and make the bike feel terrible. On the GTR1400
they are standard fitment the front feathered and went out of shape in 1600 miles, the rear feathered out after 300miles and felt bad.I welcome Bridgestone to comment on these tyres and prove me wrong? Poor choice regards wear. Good for a few weeks until they wear uneven.

I had this exact same wear pattern on the front tyre of my FJR1300 2007 model with 50K miles on the clock. The cause was shot front wheel bearings which may explain poor handling. Get them checked ASAP. Phil
