Do not buy looks nice but wont last

We were delighted to find the Petite Star ZIa - a reasonably priced pushchair that folds into the boot of a mini with ease. But all that glitters is not gold...
It looks great and is fantastically easy to fold. However, be warned, the manufacturers say suitable from birth. It does indeed lie flat but the recline is so poorly supported (adjusted by only a webbing strap) that my 8 week old almost fell out when moving the Zia up a few steps.
On flat terrain it is fine. Like other reviews I agree, doesn't handle too well, particularly with one hand (so no good when it's raining and you want to hold an umbrella).
The raincover is not easiest to put on and has nowhere to store it - unless you use the shopping basket, in which case you have no room to fit anything else in!
The fixed handles are low and so I wouldn't recommend it if you are tall - I am 5ft 10 and it's far too low.
We will be keeping the Zia as a car pushchair only. The Maclaren XT will remain out pushchair of choice for eveyday use. A far superier design, much sturdier, if only it folded smaller, it would be perfect!

I love the Zia pushchair, we got one as a replacement for the Quinny Zapp and find it better by far. It is brilliant on all terrains and my son who is 2 can sleep in it as the back reclines fully. The brakes are easy to use and as they are smaller and lower than the Quinny there is no risk of losing one on a high pavement which is what happened to the old one.

I love the Petite Star Zia buggy, I have both a zapp and this one and prefer this one by far, even the wheels are better. I love the fact that this has the same style as the quinny zapp with loads of design improvements. It has a reclining seat, the hood is adjustable, it has 1 click folding and a storage basket.
It is so easy to push and very light weight.

I bought this buggy thinking it was a good alternative to the Quinny Zapp as it lies back and had a basket too.
I was very wrong! This buggy has been a total waste of money!
The rear wheels have fallen off 3 times now, while my DS was in it.
The release button for the wheels has been put under the wheel, so when you go over a bump or up/down a kerb or stairs, they come off!
I can't stress enough what a dangerous and badly designed buggy this is. I have contacted the manufacturer and they have told me there is "nothing they can do, there is nothing wrong with the design"?!
I have now purchased a Loola and love it! The Petite Star has been binned!

Folds up easily, fits into small space in boot. Not liked because it feels to light, the recline is poor and you can just about fit a babies bottle in the shopping basket as the opening is far too small. Doesn't steer very well one handed! That's why am selling mine!

I've had my petite star pushchair for a few weeks, it took me over a week to decide what pushchair to get after searching the net and checking for reviews i went for the petite. I'm so glad i got it, when it arrived i was surprised how small the box was but when i got the pushchair out, it is a decent size and only took a few minutes to put it together. It's a great looking pushchair i had the black one its lovely to push and my son loves it in there, the rain cover is easy to put on but the shopping basket is small. Overall a great purchase i'd give it a 9 out of 10

Handle height is quite low - I'm, 5'7" and wouldn't want it any lower. Overall though a great value alternative to 'that other one' that doesn't lay flat. Pleased with my purchase. Advise others to measure their boots carefully as it is much wider than the website's picture implies (dimensions given are accurate though). If you can justify it this is a brilliant pushchair to keep in the boot for round the shops/on holiday, but not necessairy tough enough for long daily school runs, rough ground, jogging, mountainerering etc!

Overall I am very pleased I purchased a Zia as I was really struggling with the weight of my old buggy and this gives me a lot more space in my boot too. I think it is definitely an improvement on the Quinny being able to recline the seat and also with it being more roomy. The basket is a bit hard to get to but that doesn't really bother me.

I bought this pushchair as it was lightweight for holidays and as it reclined it seemed a better alternative to the Quinny Zapp. It was only used as a additional pushchair for 2 months and it ended up falling to bits! The wheels come off easily and frequently due to the quick release buttons being positioned next to the wheels which catch on bumps on the pavement. This proved very dangerous indeed when the wheel came off crossing a busy road and the pushchair went over with baby in it. When the pushchair went over, a nut and bolt cracked and the pushchair was no longer usable.
My advice is to stick to the well known brands with a proven reputation.

A great buggy that you can easily fit into any car, a stylish buggy that is great to push. My Quinny Zapp friends are really envious as it doesn't get stuck on curbs and has a shopping basket.

Only had this Petite Star Zia for a few weeks. It looks similar to the quinny but has a recline.

I am sorry jagosman had a rough time, I have zia and been abroad with it 3 times now, my daughter is now 20 months and it is a dream, had a quinny zapp and buzz prior, but buzz broke, would no longer fold properly had it 4 months! so traded it for the zapp, I found the zapp is very unstable, topples easily, i would say now my daughter was too tall for it and she aint any taller than any normal child, but head would almost hit hood. I certainly would not stick to brand names, why pay for a name? I look for what is safe and efficient for my child, which the zia is 110%
