I wanted to cancel my insurance policy with Express 6 months in because I had purchased a new motorcycle and had received better quotes than Express had given me. I phoned to cancel my policy with Express and they said I would get a phone call later that day. 2 days after, I decided to call again, no response. Across a 10 day period I was phoning Express frantically trying to cancel my insurance policy because I no longer use my old moped. I called over 12 times, it was either no response or I had to wait in a queue. Nobody got back to me. Just after Christmas, I got a letter from Close Brothers saying I owe them £142. This makes no sense because since then I had received a letter from Express breaking down my policy and giving me a final cancellation price, which is £30 (The same price it said in my T&C). I am now seeking advice from an ombudsman regarding the prices Close Brothers have sent me. If you are a 17 year old looking for some cheap insurance for your moped because you have next to no money, like I was, don't use Express. I am genuinely upset and appalled with the situation I am in.

Found to be the cheapest on line and much cheaper than previous insurers quoted.

took insurance out with express insurance paid policy in full up front told sales person i had a non fault accident in november 2014 but i was not sure of the date said to him give me a couple of minutes and i will dig out my old insurance policy and tell him correct date he said dont worry we will just put 30 november got a letter 3 weeks later stating i must pay £205 unless they may cancel my policy phoned them back asking what the charges was about person who answered said i have to send in proof of non fault accident sent this in received email to say they have received document sent by me no mention of £205 charge as yet whats this all about

Cancelled my insurance without notify. I was driving for over a month uninsured. My premiums now starts from 3K for £500 motor. I live in contryside, and can't go to groceries/work anymore.

We took this insurance and arranged payments of monthly direct debit. Paid deposit and then 1st payment was requested which was £10 more than agreed. Contacted them and they said that was the price their underwriters requested. Have not had insurance certificate or policy documents yet and its been 6 weeks. Have requested them twice now and still nothing has arrived. If they cannot even get this right what on earth would happen if you had a claim??!! I am going to use my right to cancel within 14 days as soon as the policy documents arrive as this is already a nightmare. The agreed price when you take the insurance out with them changes and no documents!
