It seemed like a very good idea to buy this Tefal Quick Cup kettle. At first it worked perfectly, but after three weeks it started to provide water which was not hot enough to make a cup of tea.

The Tefal Quick Cup is is very convenient for making a quick drink providing you like it luke warm. Have had ours under a year but now the power in the house keeps tripping and I'm convinced it's the Tefal. Off to exchange it for an old fashioned kettle!

Such a brilliant idea and so eco-friendly. I bought a Tefal Quick Cup at Homebase and was stunned by how brilliant it was.
Then after a few days the water came out tepid before seizing up altogether. No more hot water!
I exchanged it for another one and exactly the same thing has happened.
I feel Tefal should address these problems and do something about the next model.

Our Tefal Quick Cup worked fine for the first 3 weeks then it only produced warm water. By the time you added milk to the tea or coffee it was cold. Don't buy it stick to the old fashion and proven kettle.

written by awesomecrystals on 18/12/2008

We did both find that if you hover your hands, cupped downwards over the Tefal Quick Cup as it's magically making almost Luke Warm Water, that the electromagnetic energy rays from your hands will help to warm up the water hot enough to call Tepd without being hot enough to make tea. Neither of us really like tea anyway and what with the Global Economic Crisis, the Royal Family being Lizards and the increase in the wholesale price of coffee, we've decided to just drink filtered rain water and we both seem to be benefitting from the change.

There's always a positive behind the negative in our lifestyle. Make no mistake, Tefal have had a positive impact on our lives for sure. Oh yes.

Thought the quick cup from tefal woudl be a great product, have managed with it for about 3 months (albeit the first one had to be taken back to the store)

Is ok if u drink hot drinks without milk but i agree with everyone else hot drinks need boiling water

Am off to purchase a kettle!

Just exchanged our Quick Cup for the third time, a marvellous idea but what a disappointment to make a cup of tea and have to boil the water in the microwave. Customer Services no help at all, just told to get a refund if not satisfied, hopefully third time lucky otherwise back to the basic kettle.

written by moneybutt on 21/11/2008

We have had a Tefal Quick Cup for about 18 months. Thought it would be great for quick cups of tea but the water is not hot enough. I keep it ready for cup soups and gravy now which works well but tea really does need boiling water. I also fill it with a jug rather than keep fighting to pull the water container out.

Mine lasted one day then pressing the red button only produced cold water. Took it back to Homebase and got a refund. The concept is good but reliability seems poor.

My Tefal Quick Cup worked for a week then stopped producing near boiling water, it is now just luke warm, I have gone back to my old kettle. Tea also tasted funny as it wasn't made with boiling water. Very noisy also! I am taking mine back at the weekend, its not all it is cracked up to be!

written by SuePC on 10/11/2008

Our Tefal Quick Cup has been giving us cold water, until we read the reviews we thought that it was us using it incorrectly. We took the filter out and let it dry out and then it worked again for 2 days. I will be returning it and will exchange it for a new kettle.

written by on 04/11/2008

We bought this Tefal Quick Cup and for the first 24 hours it was great - I loved it and then....... it produced cold water, then slightly warm water, then a spurt of hot water then back to cold (all in one mug). We are going to take it back to the shop because it obviously doesn't do what it says and I thought we would get an exchange for another but having read reviews on more than one site, have decided to get a refund and wait until Tefal sort out the problems.

“Tefal Quick Cup blurb says filter lasts for 6 weeks,...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by parkersages on 01/11/2008

Tefal Quick Cup blurb says filter lasts for 6 weeks, annual cost £44, also that it saves up to £31 pa on normal kettle. Seems bad economics. Also a good cup of tea can only be made with boiling water, yet this doesn't boil per Tefal's own admission

Living alone I thought the Tefal Quick Cup may be a good idea, save power, the world and all that. Well any power it uses is wasted, the luke warm drinks it produces are useless so its back to the kettle for me. Must be the worst item I have purchased in over 60 years.

My partner bought the Tefel Quick Cup kettle and although he says its o.k for making a coffee, I HATE it! Its really noisy, it splats water everywhere and after about a week of having luke warm cups of tea, Ive resorted to boiling a pan of water if I want a decent brew! We're expecting our 1st baby in january so I knew we'd have to get a new kettle for then as this contraption would be useless for making up bottles of formula milk, however, the thing broke this week and now only produces cold water. Wouldn't recommend this product to my worst enemy!

written by Sylva on 23/10/2008

Having had two faulty Tefal Quick Cup machines in just under twelve months, I returned the Tefal Quick Cup to Currys where they gave me a no quibble exchange return of my money. I then spent some of it on a Blue Ice Breville electric kettle and we are back to normal daily living. I have to admit though, that I do miss that instant one cup convenience of the Tefal.

Please believe me when I state sincerely that the idea of Quick Cup is brilliant. I think the electronic CHIP CONTROL is where more than likely the intermittent fault lies.

Brought one last week. it worked for about a day, then stopped producing hot water. i took it back to the shop and exchanged it for a new one. after 3 more days the exact same thing happened! i thought that it may have been part of a faulty batch. i was just about to go and get it exchanged again. then i found all your comments. i will be definatley getting a refund this time.
for something that is such a simple device, not technical in any way ( im a heating engineer) its appalling that tefal can even dare to sell this faulty prouduct! thay should stick to making frying pans with red dots on them! beware!
