“BE AFRAID - BE VERY AFRAID..............”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 15/02/2013

Like a mug I paid for Amazon next day delivery - unfortunately they used the HDNL jokers who said they had delivered my package when they hadn't!!!!!!!! That is what you get if you pay extra - HDNL losing/stealing your parcel - absolutely useless I am too fed up to write about everything but I will NEVER buy anything again from Amazon until they ditch these clowns. If I could rate lower I would........... AVOID HDNL AT ALL COSTS...........

“Should be called Home Network Limited”

★☆☆☆☆

written by tdkavanagh on 15/02/2013

After this review I need to investigate whether using the word 'delivery' in your company name and not being capable of arranging a 'delivery' constitutes a breach of trading standards. These cowboys have somehow managed to get lucrative contracts with online companies like Play and Amazon, leading to delivery times that would suggest they've taken a detour through Middle Earth to drop a magic ring in a volcano. They appear to have invested their not-so-hard-earned money in a random failed delivery generator that saves them the hassle of going to the trouble of trying to deliver something. I know this because I was ACTUALLY there, at my house, when their driver travelled through an inter-dimensional warp and arrived in a reality where I was not at my home. In this alternate reality my end-terraced house was transformed into a flat on top of an incredibly high mountain, fortified by a moat and protected by a dragon. Resulting in their inability to "gain access to the property". In a stroke of customer service genius, they've recently reduced their customer complaints by 1 million percent by redesigning their website so it doesn't have a number to call. This company offers you two things (obviously not your package!). One, the opportunity to get angry with a company who have good customer service but committed the crime of using this courier. And two, you get to take some unexpected holiday from work and enjoy an insight into life as a hermit while you wait in for several days on the off chance they might get bored and knock on your door for a laugh.

“Worse than royal mail”

written by Gavinuk on 11/02/2013

Completely useless. Dont know why amazon bother using them. Phantom cards, parcels thrown over back fence in pissing rain, invisble packages in my porch (what porch?!) and driver comments of " white door" left when my door is black.

“Do NOT USE IF YOU ARE MILITARY”

written by on 04/02/2013

This shambles of a company are not only unreliable but will also blatantly lie to your face. After waiting a week for a delivery from Amazon, which was supposed to take one day, this company declared they had tried to deliver and could not gain access. I was in all day and live behind the wire of a military camp. The camp gates are manned 24hrs and have my mobile number, my wifes mobile number, my office number and my home number. I have never had any problems with deliveries. After a little research it seems this is the norm for this shower. Amazon needs to get a grip and dump these cowboys. My advice, if you are getting something delivered from Amazon forget using prime and just use the ordinary first class, let Royal Mail do it.

“The worst delivery company ever to exist. That's being...”

written by KingLeopold on 24/01/2013

After waiting in for several days, as my parcel was 'out for delivery', I've been notified that my parcel has been delivered. As with many others it seems I'm going to have to dispute this with them or complain to Amazon. If my parcel was delivered at 11am this morning then how did I not see it when I was digging my car out of the snow? Honestly, what an absolute joke of a company. What sort of idiots do they employ? And why would Amazon use such an appalling delivery company? I've used Amazon for 5 years now and never had a problem with any of my other orders. This is the first large item I've purchased from Amazon and I'm almost certain the first time HDNL have been allocated one of my orders. The fact that they are using this company has seriously damaged Amazon's reputation in my eyes. Avoid this company at all costs if you can. Unfortunately I didn't have that choice as I wasn't notified of delivery company until it was actually dispatched.

“By far the worst delivery experience ever.”

written by on 21/01/2013

I ordered a camera, next day delivery on Wednesday, it was to be delivered Friday morning, ok I thought, then it snowed, Amazon inform me it will be delivered Saturday, ok, I am leaving for Ireland and wanted to take it with me, waited as long as I could, didn't arrive, husband informs me it is returned to depot due to weather, right, I am a girl and I managed to drive navigate the roads just fine...It will be delivered Monday, out for delivery, 19 miles away the depot is, no snow, no snow forcast, roads clear. WAIT IN ALL DAY. At 4.29pm it is returned to depot again. no e-mail, no contact, can't contact them, there is no e-mail address, working phone number. So annoyed and disgusted, only hope that as I am now requesting a refund from Amazon that they will take it up with them and STOP using them. Awful service. Awful communication.

“Not happy at all!”

Ordered a laptop through amazon on the 4thJan and paid the premium for guaranteed next day delivery on the 5thJan. I had conformation emails stating that my package had been dispatched and would be delivered guaranteed on the 5thJan!. Guess what?.Nothing... Tracking stated that it was at the depo, fine i thought, Id be the first drop today (the 7thjan), no such luck, after waiting around all the day no delivery has been made despite it showing as "loaded on to van for delivery" at 6.44am. Ill be canceling the order and going to currys in the morning. A quick google search shows this kind of service is common place with the home delivery network. Its a shame i wasn't aware of their shocking service before i placed the order. Why do amazon use this company?

“Appalling and Devious”

We've waited in all day for a Saturday delivery to find that they 'delivered' the parcel at 0955 (when we tracked it at 1615)... however we tracked it at 1535 and it was still showing undelivered. We live in a dead end lane with very few houses and my son has been anxiously waiting for his present all day and they have done this before by saying it's been delivered and then delivering it a few days later. I am so cross and disappointed for my son. If Republic do not change couriers I will not be buying from them and recommending others to veto them!

I really sympathise with you. We are in a similar situation having waited in all of today for a 'guaranteed' delivery from Amazon.

Speaking with the Amazon customer services staff elicited the fact that a) they know HDNL have been much complained of but b) they have no option but to use them. This means of course that any complaint is pretty much toothless. Even sadder it means we have to consider not buying from Amazon...

“Absolutely useless!”

Why Amazon persist in using HDNL I just don't know. I've had terrible problems in the past with them, but just recently ordered 4 items which were combined for delivery. According to HDNL they left their Middleton depot at 7.23am on 3rb January and were delivered in Stockport at 7.24am - pretty swift, huh? Except they didn't. They were still, according to Amazon, on an HDNL van on January 5th. This lot are absolute amateur hour and should not be touched by anyone who can avoid it. If I could give zero, I would.

Agreed, it would appear that HDNL staff are adept at equivocation (but not originality)...

Ordered a 24" monitor from Dell on Thursday, arrived the next day at 11:30am. Was a bit worried when I saw that Amazon shipped my package via HDNL because of all the bad reviews, but my package arrived just fine.

“Rubbish!”

Ordered a new DVD player on boxing day from Amazon and PAID EXTRA for GUARANTEED DELIVERY by Fri Dec 28th. The parcel was dispatched from Amazon on boxing day and HDNL updated the tracking status to "Borehamwood Depot Arrival Scan - 27 December 2012 1:20:00 AM". Since then nothing has changed. I chatted to HDNL staff on Sat Dec 29th, requesting an update of the status of my parcel. The customer service rep didn't have any more information but said they would request a "rescan and delivery" of the parcel. Today is Friday Jan 4th and I still haven't seen or heard anything about this parcel. I have been in contact with Amazon (I must say I'm very impressed by their response times and efficiency). They have organised a new parcel for me to be delivered by tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be delivered by HDNL this time, because then it's GUARANTEED NOT TO DELIVER by tomorrow. I expect a lot more from a "delivery" company. They even have all the information available in their systems. How about monitoring the amount of parcels being stuck with status "arrival scan" in a depot somewhere. Surely you could automatically monitor this and take action to resolve any issue a lot quicker.

“Totally incompetent”

written by Malini_Rajendran on 29/12/2012

Just signed the petition for Amazon to stop using HDNL/ Yodel. We have spent TWO days waiting for a Yodel/ HDNL delivery which has failed to materialise. The poor Amazon customer service staff in the Phiilippines are NOT allowed to disclose their UK managers' name who is taking profit despite HDNL/Yodel failure. I was told by the customer service superviser that the product could very well be LOST at the depot and that they could organise a replacement !!! However, they could not guarantee that we would not have to go through the same misery with the replacement as they might have to use HDNL/Yodel again !! They say that they have been told by Amazon that they are NOT allowed to request for reputable delivery companies e.g. Fedex or DHL as they have to use "whoever comes first" !! In the end we just opted for a refund (which we hope we will get as it was a large sum of money spent on a laptop). Now off to non-virtual PC World or John Lewis (which offers a very good "Click and Collect" service although they also do use Yodel too -- so beware !! Use Click and Collect or a reliable, trustworthy and honest delivery company

Ordered Christmas present from Amazon on Wednesday 19th, paid for next day delivery, waited in all day didnt turn up, spoke to Amazon who said it would be with me the next day...surprise surprise no sign, on several occasions they tried to contact the driver who did not answer his phone. After calling Amazon everyday since it was due to be delivered it has finally turned up today Friday 28th....pathetic, too late for Christmas present now, would never recommend this company to anyone. Amazon were great but will be rethinking using them again whilst they insist on using these useless cowboys

“HDNL: Stay Clear”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 26/12/2012

This company dropped two packages on ground outside front door, sometime 22 Dec 2012. No postcard through door, and no SMS to phone. Found the packages by luck on morning of 23rd, covered in slugs. We'd returned late afternoon on 22nd so was dark, and didn't see parcels. Luckily, they were well packed in plastic so even though heavy rain recently, no damage done. This time. Not as though we are short of alternative 'resting# spots. Most other companies use eg the empty rabbit huts, or bins etc. AND, always put a notice through the door. Not HDNL. I know weather has been cr*P and these gus are always under pressure. \but this attitude is atrocious for a service company. I feel sorry for the retailer which has contracts with this so-called 'service' company. Yep, YOU, HDNL.

I have lost count on how many occasions amazon have used these cowboys and my parcel has been ''delivered'' but I have never seen it for another few days or I have got calls from random strangers stating my parcel was left on their door steps. the longest - Kent and I live near Oxford hahahahaha. read their website about us and makes you puke. I wish I could walk over to their ceo and slap him a bit. terrible. I have decided that every time I get a email confirmation from amazon stating that the parcel has been dispatched using HDN I am going to cancel my order.

I was so disappointed when I found out my order from Amazon is going to be shipped by HDNL. I payed extra money for it be sent asap but Still didnt recieve the order. Now it means I will not be able to give my friends and family the Christmas presents I've ordered. I have no idea why on earth such a pathetic company is being used by Amazon. I've certainly learnt my lesson, never using HDNL ever again. DO NOT USE HDNL !!!!!!

This lot cost me a Christmas present.I ordered 2 presents from K and Co which were dispatched together. At the same time my husband placed an order with Amazon.HDNL turned up on the right day but with 1 of mine and my husbands amazon parcel,(should have been 3 altogether). My husband signed for 2 parcels, but it turns out that the driver marked it down as my 2 K and Co parcels as delivered and not the amazon parcel.I phone K and co and they are making me pay for the missing parcel as it has been signed for, even though it was the delivery drivers error as to which ones were signed for.I phoned HDNL and although polite on the phone, they have not resolved the issue, found my parcel or even contaced me the next day as promised.Completely useless and inadequate service. What is frightening is that i could have ordered something very expensive and K and Co would still hold me liable for the cost as a signature was obtained. There appears to be no buyer protection for courier errors like this.Appalling company!

My order still hasn't arrived, several days late now. They say they've tried to delivery it but couldn't gain access to my property. What a complete and utter lie, I live on a main road so it can't really get more accessible. Now they can't tell me where my package is. Steer well clear of this company.
