Visiting the Purley Way branch for the first time,I found the outside area was a blaze of colour. What a delight! The plants and shrubs were well presented and were well watered. What a very pleasing experience and hifgly recommended.

We drove 46 miles to Woodlands in Leicestershire for lunch and to buy a few gifts. There website said nothing of a major re-build, we paid over £16 for two jacket potatoes with 1 filling and 5 leaves of salad and 2 small coffee's. Over the top! We could not buy gifts as there were none on display. This used to be a wonderful garden centre before it was taken over, will not bother to visit again, and would NOT recommend it.

I recently moved to the area and was recommended by my neighbour the Osterley garden centre as a place to get my tree this year. I was so please with my visit, it was easy to park and we took my elderley mum, and I was really impressed that they had wheelchairs available for use.
The staff were really dfriendly and helped us choose a fantastic tree, having worked abroad for the last 10 years we were really looking forward to a traditional christmas! Even though it was freezing cold and there was snow on the ground the ladies outside had a smile and we were able to leave our tree to be packed and collected later at the gate, even better they offered to put it in the car for us.
We had a good look round inside and a snack and overall were really impressed. I'm looking forward to coming back here in the summer once i can tackle the garden - one bad point is there didn't seem to be much english winter plants outside - I was looking for some cornus which is quite common and they didnt have it, but they had some nice winter box so i bought those instead.
I have taken the tree down today and have overall been really pleased with the lack of needles on the floor, it's almost a shame to take it down!

I have lived near the Wyvale Centre at Owermoigne, Dorset for 30 years (even before Wyvale took it over). We used to go there a lot but went today and found the place had that look of closing down. The range of goods was much smaller than it used to be, fewer plants were on display and the place was generally full of Xmas goods (October 25th!). Although the coffee shop was tidy and had nice furniture (and wifi) the coffee was weak and slopped all over into the saucer - no offer to replace it with a clean one. Part of the site is now rented out as allotments. If I was thinking of buying shares in the company I would have been put off. Something looks wrong.

I feel that the recent increase of 50p on a coffee is extorcionate

I have been going to the Wyevale Garden Centre in Findern for over 8 years and I buy everything from them from Perenials to Winter and Summer bedding plants in all that time i have only ever taken 2 plants back I have had so many people comment on my Garden how lovely its looks. I have over 55 tubs and 6 hanging baskets all full of lovely flowers. Wyevale have a garden membership that you can join and get regular offers ie half price hanging baskets, free geranium. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Almost everyone I speak to do not like the new look Woodlands at Stapleton Its like a supermarket. Is that what garden centres are these days it is overpriced and the entrance is the worst I have ever been thro'. It is placed outside its cold and most uninviting the whole layout of the place is too bitty and bobby. What you need is a nice warm welcome to the place.

We took our friends to Woodlands garden centre at Stapleton. We couldn't believe how it had altered The entrance had been moved so instead of the usual lovely flowery welcome of all the lovely plants we were taken through a cold outdoor area with a few Xmas trees then there was now flow through it was all in bits with us going round in circles. The selection was not nearly as good as previous years and was half the size. There was nothing Wow only the camel and the Santa area. It just seemed a mishmash of areas with not much worth buying and things at above average prices. Lunch was cool the batter on the fish was not properly cooked, cup of tea was excellent. Staff were very nice and helpful. We have been to two or three garden centres this year and kept telling our friends wait till we go to Woodlands its brilliant their Xmas area is fantastic, I felt an absolute fool.

I dont think Wyevale Garden Centre is a bad garden centre, but its not my favourite.
I go to the one in Windmill Lane, Isleworth mostly. I dont like the way that you have to go through the whole store to exit - its a bit like going to Ikea, ie you can't just nip in the front door and exit the same way, you have to go all the way round the centre and through the tills to escape.
Also, I dont like the range of products they have - I've never been to a garden centre for example that doesnt stock Hozelock hose accessories, they only stock Gardena (whats all that about?)
The plants seem reasonable, but again the choice of things like fencing is quite poor.
The staff seem good enough - quite friendly and there's often someone on the front gate with some sort of promotional offer or looking to give you advice (the different between a big chain like this and some of the small family run outfits I guess - ie these guys are more sophisticated with their marketing)
When I go though I tend to leave dissapointed and wish that Id gone to Squires in Twickenham (see my other reviews) which is what Im tending to do now
So, all in all I wouldn't bother going unless its your local and its a pain to go to one further away, in which case it does the job, but it wont excite you!

Before you buy from Wyevale check out your local nurseries & independant garden centres. In my experience you will get much better plants more cheaply and have a much more rewarding time. In my experience the plants are expensive & poorly presented. I purchased some bark in bulk bags and the delivery service was poor. The manager didn't have authority to offer me any rebate in compensation.

Would visit again Wyevale Garden Centres, as parking was easy and staff were very accommodating and made us feel very welcome.

A fantastic range of plants. Well organised with a good range of garden accessories. The plants are excellent with items that are the best available, not just the average stuff on offer at other garden centres. You need to get in early for your plants as this place is really popular.

Plenty parking, no crush. No complaints about the gardening part. Cafe part, extortionate.
