I ordered my suite in october as a garenteed before Xmas it is now Dec 29 and its just arrived...i was innitially told the 19th december but it got put back and back and that was blamed on the weather when it was ready (xmas eve) they phoned the wrong telephone no and left a message when they were asked to call 2 mobiles hence i missed the delivery date as i got the message to late for a before xmas delivery ...NO CUSTOMER INTEREST AT ALL....CANT COMMENT ON THE FURNITURE QUALITY YET BUT SO FAR IT LOOKS OK

What a load of rubbish ,terrible quality the suite I bought after 8 weeks looks 5 years old the cushions are flat and saggy and when you complain not interested at all they claim its how it's meant to look .SCS now I know what it stands for never buy from this company always read reviews first I was swayed from Harveys when in scs on impulse but wish I'd read reviews first then I'd have stuck with my initial choice as Harveys get better reviews.

Bought a corner unit explained that we had narrow doors was told no problem as it come apart,I had already taken living room door off as i new this would be a problem on arrivel i had to take front door off (double glazed and heavy delivery men could'nt help as this was not part of there job )
all but the corner unit came through the living room door,i was told that they would have to send a dismanteler to get this into the living room,
When he got in touch i was told that the charge would be £120.00 and it would be three days before he could get to us.I went to the store and complained and was told that im responsable and that i should have made sure that it would go through doors i explained that i was told that it would as it came apart and should not be a problem.I was told that im responsible for making sure that it fits and they would not pay the £120.00
When the dismanteler came i was not home my wife was there all he done was removed a cuboard door and he and he's mate managed to get it in,i was charged a £80.00 call out charge for this it took about 5 min's.
I went back to the store and asked them to pay the £80.00 as the delivery men could have asked me to do this i was told more or less that i should have thought of it.they did offer to return the £49.00 delivery charge as a goodwill gesture.That means delivery charge is £80.00.

i bought a sofa drom scs on 29th september was told between 10 and twelve weeks and im still waiting been on the phone and been given 6 different delivery dates its just a week left to christmas and ive no suite and still no sign of a new delivery date im not hoping for much ive been promised that my suite will arrive before christmas but im not hopeful i wouldnt reccommend them to anyone

we bought the scs sherlock 3 seater & 2 seater from greenock store..all cushions on both sofas are saggy after 6 weeks..very poorly made..contacted scs they sent some one out and he said its they way they are made shabby sheek look...didnt take my complaint serious wasnt interested in what i had too say made his mind up when walked through the door just glancing at sofa..wouldnt recomend too any one..annmarie

I ordered a suite from SCS Mansfield on 27/09/09 . I was told that the usual delivery time was about 8 weeks but they might be able to do it in 6. I have just gone in for the 3rd time since and now have my third date when it will supposedly arrive in the warehouse { no actual delivery date of course }; Dec 17th this time. The customer service guy had probably had a bad day but was not sympathetic and verging on downright rude. I wish I had gone somewhere else.

I did recommend this company to a friend after we bought our furniture and were very pleased with the quality, although the wing chair came with ugly wooden blocks instead of the brass casters ordered.
I telephoned customer services and new casters arrived by post - when the man came to fit them he said he needs new back feet as well and would order them - since then, nothing.
I have phoned cust. ser. again - told I would be notified when they are delivered.
E-mailed the company two days ago - no reply
Incidentally, don't pay what it says on the ticket - they knocked £300 off ours without asking.

i went into the colchester store with my husband about 10 weeks ago and spoke to one of the salesmen i think his name was lee. he did'nt come across pushy at all, he told me things about 3 or 4 different sofa's that i liked the look of. he asked what we were looking for and what colours our rooms were. after about 45 mins in the store we chose a lazyboy sofa called the arizona. it arrived 4 days ago and is fantastic. why do people only post negative posts. there must be 100's of customers who have no problems at all like us. i would be happy to recomend lee and scs to anybody

I have never come across a less professional, discourteous, disinterested company in my life.
I will not go into the full in's and out's of what happened as you will lose the will to live and i will get more and more angry as i write!!
It has taken a total of 11 months from start to finish to get any sort of resolve having bought a sofa from them!!
The sofa arrived the wrong colour, the cushions ripped apart at the seams, the second set of cushions ripped at the seams, the varnish leaked from one of the legs and we had to have the carpet cleaned, this happened a second time and despite a cleaner trying to clean the carpet for an 1 1/4 still have a large brown varnish stain - and today after 11 months of fighting i have received a call from SCS Customer Services stating they take no responsibility for the stain (despite paying for both sets of carpet cleaning in the first place - surely that is them accepting some responsibility from the off set?) I have made a total of 21 calls to SCS customer services each and every time the Customer Services Rep said someone would call me back - on the 21st time of trying i finally got a call!! to give me the bad news!!
In the "Review Hints" we are told to list the strengths and weaknesses - which i would love to do but i honestly can not find any strengths to give you!!
SCS are without a shadow of a doubt the worst company i have come across for customer services, terrible build quality and incredibly disorganised.
If your reading this, i leave it to you to make a decision as to whether you are going to risk your money with these ****** - but might i suggest that you go to sofa.com based in London, one show room, delivery time of about 4 weeks and although fractionally more expensive - worth every penny!!
Sorry if you find this review elsewhere on the internet but i am at a stage where i want to let as many people know about my experience as is possible!!

Just recently bought a sofa from SCS in Loughborough. As I was moving into a new development which was yet to be completed, I was concerned about ordering the sofa too early, as I would have nowhere to store it. I was reassured by the salesman that this would not be a problem, and that it was "better for the sofa to be early rather than late". I was explicitly told they could keep hold of it for a week or two. I was also told that all I had to pay was a deposit and the remainder of the balance 48 hours before delivery. I paid the deposit but the person taking payment seemed deeply annoyed we did not want the Guardsman protection product they try to flog. In reality, the sofa was ready to be dispatched 3 weeks early, and an abrupt administrator pestered me regarding arranging immediate delivery, despite earlier assurances from the salesman that holding the sofa for a week or two would NOT be a problem. Upon visiting the store in person, I was then re-assured by a manager that they COULD hold it for a week (as stated in the paperwork), despite the adminstrator telling me it was not possible. I was subsequently harassed by phone by the same administrator to clear the remainder of the balance many weeks before delivery, despite the contract stating 48 hours before. I received two phone calls each day regarding this. I was told this was because the admin team were "under pressure to get some money in". Sorry, I'm not interested in the organisations cash flow issues and only paid 48 hours before as agreed in the written contract. I would urge others to do the same, and to use VISA in case of any dispute. I would never take my business to SCS Loughborough again, and would advise others to get any agreements from this organisation re delivery dates etc in writing on the day of purchase. The salesman may agree this verbally to get the sale (but the company may not follow through on its promises). Delivery men were not much better either, just literally dumped the stuff as quickly as they could and left. Very poor indeed

I purchased my Boxer suite from scs for xmas delivery last year, no probs delivered on time loved it all going smoothly. Then two weeks after xmas the chair collapsed the frame snapped, the Boxer by now had been disontinued (don't know why)but as it was a manufacturing fault they would replace it for me if that's what I wanted or I could have a refund or choose another model. I chose to go with the suite I had already got because I liked it 16 weeks I had to wait for another one to be made and delivered so by now it was April 09 it's now november and the said suite is sagging badly on the seat cushions and the scs upholsterer had just left, he totally agrees with me that the suite should stay as good as the day I purchased it but they don't apparently there is something like 30 percent "squish" in the seat padding and it never returns therefore leaving the leather looking saggy. he said it isn't a fault and that i should have been told on ordering that this happens, he said but would you have bought the suite if they'd told you that to which I obviously said no, and he said i rest my case! Now I've got to wait for them to reply and see what they have to say, I'm not happy in 3 years time what's it going to look like then because that's how long I've got left to pay for it!!!

We went to the Beckton Store was immediatly approached by Jo (not his real name, that's what they call him ID 20694) We found the item we like. It was a chocolate brown leather sofa. We wanted it quick delivery and Jo promised us it will be delivered with four weeks as he has one allocated. After 4 weeks no communications and each time we called we were told to call back after 19th Nov and then when we called again we were told to call back 21st ... and so on... They even promise to call back never call back. In the end went into the store and said wanted to cancel the order and following a few calls they confirmed a date... still waiting. I'll only beleive it once its delievered.

I called at the stockport branch on Sunday 15th Nov 2009 my wife and myself were looking for a replacement suit for our house. We were intending paying cash when we found the suite we wanted. when we walked through the door we were approached by a lady who offered us help when we said we would ask for help when we had selected our purchase she went away but continued to follow us around at a distance harasing us twice more. On the final approach i asked her to stay away untill we were ready and i was called rude. We walked out of the shop and whent to a competitor where we spent over £1000.00 and a plesant purchase experiance. DO NOT USE SCS.

WOW! After purchasing (I'm an impulsive buyer) a Tyler 2 seater power recliner a single seater power recliner and a 3 seater with 2 manual recliners (centre section may be removedto make 2 seater) all leather from the Wrexham branch, I was shocked when I actually looked up SCS on the net to find all these horror stories.
We actually bought an in store display package (did not want to wait 6-7 weeks) so for me it is a bargain I have taken out the 5 year insurance against damage etc for an extra £40 per seat. The set was on offer for £1895 we actually got it for £1800+£240 I asked for some cushions to be thrown in they gave us 4 leather cushions which we feel match the suite perfectly. I/we feel SCS provided an excellent in store service, the young lady who took care of us was very polite and explained everything very well, we were not pressurised at all and were left to explore the stock. Delivery will be on Tuesday I will of course be monitoring the suite for evidence of 'cushions sinking' 'feeling the sub-frame' 'power recliners not working'.
If I/we do experience any of the nightmare scenarios as described on this site then I will update this review but as for the in store service I have no complaints what so ever, thank you SCS Wrexham for a superb.

Brought a chocolate suite from them looked great in the store. Three months after delivery its fallen apart. It has taken months to get them to look at it and now they want to modify it as the arma are falling off. I will never shop there again the battle goes on!!!

Ordered a sofa from SCS with my main concern being the size of the sofa as I have narrow doorways and hallways. The salesman told me that the sofa doesnt come as a whole sofa and assured me that it would fit as they deliver to flats all the time and even explained to my mum how the sofa is split and put back together in your home. However after organising the day of delivery for the sofa to come of course the sofa wouldnt fit as it was a whole sofa...and I would now have to pay £120 for the upholsterer to take it apart and put it back together. When I phoned the store they said I would have to wait for the salesman to call me he didnt and nobody else could help me so after 1 week I made a complaint and was told that they had tried to call me and had left messages but of course I just didnt get them on my mobile phone! The store manager then basically told me that I could wait another 9 weeks (having waited 10 already) and pay £50 or pay the £120. The manager couldnt help me in regards to the lies that I had been told as of course the salesman denied them (surprise surprise) and I had signed the agreement so I had no proof..
I have had a terrible experience with SCS, if I had seen into the future I would have walked into the shop next door...DFS.

purchased two sofas from scs 6 weeks ago as my old ones were a bit tired and saggy looking, well i wish i'd kept them! new sofas are rubbish they are chocolate and arrived with lines down the sides of the sofa which i were told when they sent out someone to look caused by the wrapping however in thier letter it said this was due to use, who can possibly sit on the ends and backs of sofas, the bum cushions are so soft u feel the frame underneth them and covers are that loose when u stand up they are all wrinkled, they look after six weeks like they are six years old ad have been used and abused by a football team of six year olds, wish i had kept old sofas, my money in the bank or at least had the sense to check this out and bought from elsewhere. i also waited weeks to get someone out to look as they dont have abyone in my area well like is that my fault and its not like they have to walk!

We bought a sofa on the third of May, promised 7 week delivery and guess wot it took 10. The feet are completetly unlevel, two technicians later and ten weeks on i am still waiting for the problem to be sorted out. SCS Sofas doesnt want to know they say its cutomers services problem, numourus calls to cust services and all they keep telling me is i have to wait, like a total of 20 weeks isnt enough! Meanwhile the finance department is nicely sitting on my 3 Grand! They are a complete joke, im so sick of the lies and broken promises. The battle continues.......

Bought a settee from SCS the stitching came apart after only 10 weeks it took three upholsterers to visit and a strong letter of complain before they sorted the problem. the sofa is now only 15 months old and the springs have gone in one corner where i sit ( I only weigh 9 stone !) unfortunately it is no longer in guarantee so we will have to pay to get it repaired. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. My previous sofa from a different company lasted 10 years with no problems

The reason people put negative feed back is clear if you read them. It is because when something goes wrong they want sweet FA to do with it, and keep people waiting as they do not care once they have got the money. If they were to sort out the problems as they arose then they would be a decent company, simple!
