Having lived in my Persimmons home for nearly 13 years was very disappointed to have to employ roofing contractors to replace the filler between the roof tiles aand the bricks on my apex wall as it all fell out. Not surprising really as the found newspaper and cement bags stuffed in the gap under the filler. Now a big lump of lead flashing has fallen off the false chimney onto the footpath at the side of my house. So lucky nobody was walking by at the time.

You work hard save hard and do without the little things in order to get your forever home the Persimmon Homes blow your hopes and dreams apart. From poorly finished painting to doors that won't close, windows that don't open, electrics that don't work. Holes in the floor, holes in the walls, canopy's that don't exist gardens unfinished and muddy footprints dragged all through the house. Blocked drains and raw sewage not being pumped away, poor communication systems This builder seems to be given a free hand in destroying peoples dreams, their morale and their faith in the supposed experts. How they managed to get past housing control is beyond me, clearly someone is not doing their job and protecting people from their shoddy work I am appalled at their level of negligence. They should be ashamed

Do not purchase a property from Persimmon Swansea. Absolute nightmare builders from hell and useless customer service team. Always blame suppliers thst they are unable to manage. The company should not be allowed to trade as zero regard for customers. Forced to seek legal advice as a result.

Terrible after care service with maximum inconvenience. Health & Safety and Inconvenience Let me start by telling you when me and my partner moved into our property we and one other couple were the only people living in the street. In the morning I regularly could not get to work as I was blocked in (right outside my house) by diggers, dumper trucks and other building equipment. The builders proceeded to tell me that it wasn't safe for me to live there yet and couldn't believe we had been allowed to move in. We was told at the end of October (time of move in) we would have a road that lead up to our house. Only last week did this happen. It was like driving through a dirt track for 2.5 months, my partners car is a company car which has had had to continuously clean for Clients to be able to get in and out. Our windows constantly filled with dust and dirt- we questioned this and got no response. We have proceeded into hiring our own window cleaner and the frames will go rusty otherwise due to the extensive amount of dirt and dust. I have pictures of the condition outside my house when we first moved in and can send in if needs be. Snagging and clearing up there own mistakes I had various Snags in which some where made aware to them at the point of the demo stage- some of these have still not been rectified. My scratched work surface- I have now been told nothing can be done to fix this and I have basically got to live with this. Various snag guys attending my property after weeks of trying to arrange a date that is convenient to them not us- that make you think they are doing you a favour by rectifying there unacceptable standards. Not to mention having to take days off holiday to attend the property whilst there work men work a snail pace. 10 hours to bash at a nail that was sticking out my kitchen cupboard- hmmmm wish I got paid a full days salary to do such little work! LEAKING ROOF My most recent inconvenience, water was dripping through my bathroom ceiling quite quickly. I get told by the Customer Care team someone will call me within 24 hours- I respond to this by telling them that my ceiling will have fallen down by this point and something needed to be done asap. They send two plumbers round 'nothing to do with us love no pipes up there' they leave. They send 3 roofers round 'YOUR ROOF IS LEAKING but its raining so we're not doing it today' January 24th was VERY heavy rain so my leak proceeded to worsen. The electrician turn which might I add is the only useful one that has attended my property by blocking off the extractor fan and going through the loft hatch to try and block some of the leak off. I only have one bathroom with no window. My bathroom is getting very steamy when showering and no air can escape so water bubbles coming up through the toilet and bath. My bathroom ceiling is ruined due to the amount of water dripping through from the roof to the ceiling'. We have also had to live without Broadband and Sky for 2 months and they did not have the lines setup when we moved in. Again, ,massive inconvenience. I can't express how much Persimmon Homes have cause me maximum inconvenience since buying this house. As said before I actually notified Persimmon of some of these problems at Demo stage (27th October) on Tuesday 23rd did some of these get complete. Persimmon make you feel like you are buying a pair of shoes not a very expensive house. Once they have your money they have no interest for After care. I would tread carefully when buying a house from Persimmon.

We have bought new houses in the past with other house builders and we had great customer service. Persimmon on the other hand have the worst customer service. They fob you off at every chance, don’t replace or fix any snags and they take months to reply back to you. We have benign. Waiting a good 4-5 months for our floors to be replaced and they keep giving us excuses not to replace them. Stay away and go to any other house builder who value you as a customer.

After purchasing a low cost apartment many small issues identified and a major issue with organising the maintenance i.e. cleaning of communal areas even though Persimmon have been paid a 6 month fee. At the initial stage the sales advisor stated what would be done within this maintenance contract which Persimmon have now reneged on. Their latest response; speak to the management company [who have not yet taken this responsibility over from Persimmon] or speak to your solicitor! Anyone out there thinking of buying from Persimmon get every minute detail in writing or better still take your money elsewhere.

I wish I had checked reviews before offering on a persimmon home. they are a ruthless poorly managed excuse of a business. I cant stress enough how bad they are. they led us to believe they would take our flat as part x, due to their inept staff and countless delays they decided at the last minute they couldnt. this took them 3 months. in which time we had bought white goods, ordered blinds and booked a removal van. they didnt even have the decency to hold our plot for us to find another buyer. theyre despicable and have cost us thousands, not to mention the emotional stress. theyre a disgrace and id be embarrassed to work for a firm like them

Homes are part of people's lives, but do you think persimmon care about that? The answer is no! This company is all about taking people's money at top whack and giving the cheapest products possible. Everything in persimmon homes are budget and bottom end products. There are lots of things that do not come as standard like patio, a door bell, or outdoor lighting. The houses are timber framed and the wood contracts to moisture and heat which means that you have constant problems with cracks and uneven walls, floors, doors. They use timber frames because they are cheap and they can charge you top wack and make a big profit margin. Most other house builders have abandoned this method but not persimmon. Our experience in living in a persimmon home has been stressful. We have had leaks, mold, cracks, gaps, and poor customer service. If I could ask for my money back and give them back there shoddy house i would bite there hand off, and run off into the sunset. But not even persimmon want there shoddy houses back AS THEY KNOW HOW THEY WHERE BUILT.

Bought our dream home, turned out to be a nightmare. Brick work falling down, home wired incorrectly, paint finish would have been better if a child did it.. Disgusting customer service team who were rude. Complaints ignored.. Leasehold Nightmare so technically we have not even bought a house someone else owns it and we are a tenant... Wont sell the freehold without "permission fees" remaining in the transfer document meaning they can forever make money long after the mortgage is paid off... I would never recommend a home built by persimmon.

the site in Harworth Plum Tree Grange is a complete joke a resident close to my house fell and tripped down a whole in the path breaking his leg the site manager then lied on the accident form saying he had told them he was drunk when he is in fact a non drinker should make an interesting court case hope he takes them to the cleaners. The houses they build are below sub-standard with faults ranging from locks falling out to valves being fitted the wrong way so hot water comes out the cold or not at all. Its a case of get them up as quick as possible take your money and thats it after sales care is non exsistant and i know of at least 8 households taking legal action against them the site is left unsecured most nights and semi built houses at least 9 have had boilers stolen they dont give a monkeys avoid this site at all costs pull out now if you still can

A unbelievable and totally bad company. Was attacked by a member of staff!!! No health and safety on sites. Reserved my home and they pulled out on day of exchange because I raised a complaint against them. Used a ridiculous flaw saying that my reservation time had expired, yet they had NOT informed my solicitor or ME that this had happened. This was at Harworth development. The sales women is a Lier and I knocked on doors on site to very angry house owners who state very very bad attitudes by the site staff. Do Not buy...I ignored the reviews and did it anyway. I deeply regretted this decision. You have been warned

Persimmon Homes in Kilmarnock satnav directions are wrong. They keep trying to deliver to a private residence up a single track private road. Many of the trucks/vans are chewing up the side of our grass verge. Been in touch with Persimmon and they say it is not their problem but satnav’s. Could they not put something on their site to say satnav directions are wrong and give correct directions. Very disappointed a large Company like this are not taking any responsibility for this problem. Emailed Doulas Law but still waiting to hear from him

Wish I'd read these reviews on these sites before getting involved with such an unprofessional, uncaring company. However, I think we may have had an exceedingly lucky escape. We were in the process of a home change scheme, as Persimmon promote this service as stress free. Couldn't be further from the truth. After valuation, which we estimated to be slightly under what we assumed but as there are no estate agents fees as such, decided to proceed. They then initially marketed our property at the wrong price without even informing us it had actually gone on the market. We were informed of the criteria of being approved by their appointed mortgage brokers, which we did & were approved for affordability etc. We were informed of we must have "an offer" on our property before being able to reserve a plot. In the meantime we lost 2 plots due to not having an "offer". But we persevered & were over the moon to receive an offer last week. Unfortunately it was Tuesday & the marketing suite is closed Tuesday & Wednesday. We waited with great anticipation till Thursday to go & what me & my wife thought, to go & reserve our dream home. Or so we thought..... We were informed late on Thursday that, Thursday morning they'd changed their criteria & we had to go through the whole approval process all over again. We were politely told that there was also another party interested in the plot & basically it was a case of who could progress the quickest bagged the plot. Disgraceful & shocking behaviour to put us through another period of uncertainty & more stress. We decided not to proceed any further & asked for the property to be removed from the market. It is now the following Tuesday & I have received a phone call from the estate agent confirming they have finalised eligibility & financial checks on the prospective buyers for our property. They couldn't even be bothered to notify estate agents either.... So, so unprofessional don't touch with a barge pole

Paid 285k for a persimmon Charles church home, apparently the better quality end, however after 15 months, still nothing but trouble. On day one daughter flushed toilet and it wasn’t plumbed in corrctkucso flooded downstairs, flooring had to be took up, we paid £900 for the fitted washer dryer, the control board blew up after yes you guessed it , 13 months, dishwasher broke, bottom oven stopped working although they did replace it. We can’t use 2 sockets in the house as it trips the house out, upstairs landing light always over heats and trips even At 20w bulbs, outside light faulty. Problem is the workmen are sub contractors who don’t care they do one job and then off into the night with no owership or pride. Would be better if persimmon could retain or employ staff rather then just book any trademark who is cheap and available. The location is what we needed for school catchment but it’s a heavy price to pay for the stress, days off work wAsted when no one turns up, poor quality throughout. We will be selling up once kids have done their gcse. Would only buy if there is no other option but prepare for a lot of grief.

After 4 years of chasing our snagging I thought we were finished. We decided to put tiles in our kitchen. When our decorator took the skirting off he found that persimmon had stapled through the gas pipe and this would have been slowly leaking for four years. National grid phoned and gas turned off. They did repair the gas but left a hole in the wall and sent no one to repair despite several emails. This meant that not only was a decorating delayed for 2 1/2 days while the gas was repaired but we then had to pay our decorator to sort the hole. A job that should have taken 4/5 days is now in its 8th. They also have to complete a riddor report that's sent to HSE but again no communication so don't know if it's been done.

We purchased this property back in June 2017, for £145,500, which included turf and flooring as incentives. We received the keys on the 30th of June 2017, and began having issues from that day. After many emails, phone calls, personal contact with the contractors, after finding each issue we now at our wits end. We have made 2 official complaints tot the complaints department, who are very unhelpful and highly unreliable. When we were given our moving in tour, the week before we got our keys, we were told that any issues that we could see would be dealt with before getting the keys. The main issues at this point were; scuffs on the radiator in the kitchen and main bedroom, stains on the living room carpet, light switches in the kitchen were wired the wrong way around, missing screw caps on the bath. When we received the keys the following week not one of these issues had been resolved, to which we began chasing them upWe were told that there had been a leak in our bathroom toilet and in our en-suite toilet, which they had resolved. We later had a problem with the downstairs WC. We had reported mould in the WC and in the kitchen cupboards, which were cleaned by the site manager. We then reported water appearing in the hallway, to which we queried a leak in the downstairs WC, to which we were told there wasn’t a leak. We then reported that the door frames of the WC and the kitchen had began to rot and come apart. A few days later it was confirmed that there had been a leak in the downstairs WC. This resulted in having to have the WC and hallway floor taken up, the doors and door frames taken out and left for a few days. When the floor had dried out, the flooring was replaced and the doors and frames replaced. We had to chase them up to finish off the job, glossing the doors/frames and painting where they had damaged. They also placed a vent in the downstairs WC, to which they said should have been placed in the beginning. We had a leak in the guttering pipe at the back of the house, and when we spoke to the plumber he told us he would sort it right away. He never came back. We chased this up 2 weeks later. Since then we have had another leak in the en-suite. When we told the site manager he discovered a crack in the toilet, to which he replaced. We have also had to chase up the team about scuffs in the fencing in the back garden, which were very sharp and dangerous. One day we discovered a hole in the fencing at the back, which had been done to one of the builders with a machine. They didn’t notify us of this, and we discovered it ourselves. We then discovered a leak in the kitchen sink.We had numerous dents and scratches in our front door. After having the site manager come in at least 4 times to bleach the mould in the 4 cupboards in the kitchen, although they told us it shouldn’t come back due to it being down to the house drying out. We were hoping and praying this would have been the end to the issues in our new home. On the 24th of September 2017 we pulled our sofa out due to our son dropping something behind it. We discovered mould on the wall, all over the carpet, all over the bottom of our sofa and gone through the bottom to the storage unit underneath. This has resulted in our sofa being ruined, as well as a blanket, duvet, numerous pillows, blankets and much more. On discovering this new found problem we have made another complaint, to which we have been notified (5 days later) that they would not accept liability, and it has been caused from the drying out of the house. We are beyond upset and will never recommend persimmon homes. We have been completely let down by a company we thought we could trust. We now have to get a new sofa, carpet, fund for the re-decorating and live in this dump. This is our first home, and we cannot wait to sell the home after the worst 3 months of our lives.
