Product was not correct as it had been incorrectly described on the website. Delivery was a joke. Not delivered on day requested and on the day it was to be delivered the driver said he had delivered it when he had not.

“Shocking delivery reliability”

I waited in several times for delivery only to find out that a "system error" had occurred and that the courier didn't even have them! I felt that their systems did not allow them to know what was going on. Very bad experience :-( They did credit my postage, but I just wanted reliability.

“Worst customer service ever”

Finally delivered a chest of drawers and 2 bedside tables 3 months after they should have done after not turning up when booked, then delivering furniture so battered it looked like it had been recovered from a skip. Poor customer service who do the exact opposite of what they say on their website. Avoid this retailer at all costs as you will be disappointed even though you think you may have found a bargain.

“Suite - junk”

The cushions of my leather sofas, bought two and a half years ago are sagging so badly that I can only sit in the middle. I thought the sofas were guaranteed for 10 years but beware because only the frame is covered. the most expensive and worst sofas I have ever had in my live and I am over 60!

“OMG!”

Please please please do not buy from these people I cannot begin to tell you the grief we have had from waiting nearly 3 months to getting furnaturee to arriving (not when it was supposed too.!) it just crumbled when we tried to build it. Do not buy from them you will regret it!

No delivery, no managers to escalate problems to.Only wish I had read the customer reviews on this site prior to attempting to purchase furniture from MFI. Loosing the will to live waiting on anyone getting back to me.

“Delivery - What delivery”

I ordered a bath and panel over 1 week ago - money taken straight from my account. Delivery was supposed to have been yesterday - no contact and no delivery. I've phoned twice today to find out what has happened and after asking for a manager or supervisor they finally contacted the courier. My items were still sitting in their depot having not gone out today. I'm now waiting for the courier to contact me to arrange delivery. The delivery cost £29 and they are supposed to advise a 3hr time slot on the day - none of this happened. If you have any regard for your sanity go somewhere else.

UPDATE
Jerked around again today by MFI Customer Services and their courier.
I was promised by Couriers yesterday that it would be out today - when I phoned to check with MFI it wasn't.
Couriers just phoned to say that it would be out tomorrow - Friday - when I said that in that case I would be cancelling the order they then decided that they would get it out this afternoon. I'll believe that when I see it.
I live 30 mins / 20 miles from depot, just of A24, not in the back of nowhere.

Total c r a p .... Don't bother using mfi.... 2months no furniture 2 delivery dates no furniture ... Total c r a p! Recommend making furniture your self instead!!!

“Still waiting for bedroom furniture”

Ordered bedroom furniture on 31st may ,the order can on 6th June ,doors to wardrobe were damaged so phoned mfi to complain and another set were ordered.AGain had a delivery date as13th June ,the doors arrived and again were damaged ,having taken another day of work and waited in for this delivery I was not happy so again phoned mfi to see what was going on and why was it that the doors were damaged again .Customer service were not very helpful and each time they said they would ring me back they never did ,I sent a email of complaint on the 10th June and am still waiting for some one to get back to me looks like I will never get a reply.Another delivery date was arranged for 24th June so had another day of work only for them to be delivered damaged again (someone is taking the mick now) phoned yet again and was told some one will phone me back on that same night that call was never made.Have phoned again to speak to a team leader who as always is busy am now waiting for them to call me back wonder if they will.

2 failed deliveries after taking the mornings off work to be at home. Never reply to emails or return phone calls. What a waste of time and money, will be going into new house this week with no bedroom furniture.

“DO NOT BUY FROM MFI! ”

I ordered a new bed frame and mattress online using the finance option, I was told I would have to wait two weeks for delivery which I didn't mind so...delivery day arrived and I received my bed frame..no mattress! I phoned MFI and told them my mattress hadn't arrived and was told I would have to wait another month for my mattress and was told this was the best they could do for me. I opened my bed frame to find it damaged! One of the frame legs was broken, so very stressed I phoned MFI back and demanded they cancel my order, after sending images to prove it was damaged they agreed to cancel. So the next morning I phoned up Barclays who they do finance with just do double check and lone behold it hadn't been cancelled, so I phoned up again and no one from the call centre knew what to do. MFI said to phone Barclays and Barclays said to phone MFI back again, so I did and was told my order would be marked as urgent and someone would phone me by the end of the day (which .. Shock , they didn't) so I phoned back again to be told everyone had gone home and they would phone me back in the morning, I'm not holding my breath to be phoned back and for this issue to be resolved, but I will not be happy if Barclays start taking money from me when I didn't even receive all the things i purchased and the one thing I did purchase was broken! Very stressful and complete waste of time!

“Complete nightmare ”

Ordered two double high gloss white wardrobes confirmed delivery , then was told was not in stock till end of may then night before original delivery date I received text to say my items would arrive the next day, and they did twelve boxes arrived I thought wow that's alot for two wardrobes , dad came round to help us put them together to discover some parts where white some grey no top or bottom of wardrobes only two sides and a set of instructions for a triple robe and loads of shelves not even applicable to my items order , I was fuming rang customer service was passed from pillar to post kept having to ring back daily as never received phone calls from supervisor then manager as promised told them I wanted the whole lot collected and refunded and loan behold they can't come and collect it all for two wks so I'm stuck with it all over house as obviously some of it was taken upstairs and unpacked and some still downstairs stuck in hallway and dining room as boxes so big , can't get refund now until they have collected it and received it back its a complete joke total waste of time and would never ever use them again or recommend them either to anyone no wonder they went under first time round.

“terrible customer service”

I ordered a bath panel which claimed to be adjustable it was in fact in 2 parts and was therefore unsuitable. I was advised I could return it if I organised the courier which i duly did, and paid for; then......nothing. Rang a week later and was advised 'they probably had it but hadn't done anything' I was advised if i sent the 'signed for' confirmation that would speed the process, did so and waited........nothing, rang a week later and was told 'oh yes we do have it but it was damaged by the courier so we aren't accepting it some one will get back to you', guess what, still waiting. Every single time I've spoken to some one there I've been given the impression i am putting them out by bothering them over trying to get my money back, no empathy, no agreement, no action. Genuinely feels like they couldn't give a damn, no resolution and me down £100 in parts and delivery/courier costs, thanks MFI

“Very poor customer service”

On he 18th of January I placed an order for bedroom furniture, on the same day i received a confirmation email saying my delivery would be on the 29th January. After waiting in all day i called the customer service department and asked about my delivery, they informed me that my items were out of stock and would not be arriving, when i asked them why it was 11 days since they had confirmed my delivery yet no one had contacted me to inform me that the items were out of stock the excuse was a computer fault. I would never use this inferior compant again.

“I don't agree with MFI blaming the credit crunch for...”

I don't agree with MFI blaming the credit crunch for this situation as I feel it has very little to do with that. I purchase my kitchen and bedroom furniture in May 2007 fitted in June 2007 and still not finished yet. I felt as though they were full of promises that were never fulfilled.
In my opinion, CUSTOMER CARE or lack of it was the sole problem with the way this company traded and poor supervision of the tradesmen fitting out is the primary companies problems.
If customer care is good, companies continue to trade during poor times and come out stronger in the good times.
I still have a kitchen unfinished and have waited 18 months.
I have no confidence in the management of this company now or its past.
I have not had any compensation and don't expect to receive any and after all, my wife and myself only ever wanted was what we had paid good money for!

Delayed 3 times on delivery of extractor fan, no notice received, I felt I had to do all the chasing, now been 2 months since I paid and I've ordered from a different supplier but now they are telling me it has been delivered and they seem to be putting me off on my refund, store manager not available whenever I have asked to speak to one or when he is 'the computer is letting him' and central customer service appear to have no information or authority, they cant just tell me whether the item is being delivered or not, and I don't trust them now when they say it is as so far that has been wrong.

I feel as though the call centre staff end up getting treated like punchbags as they are the only people available, which isn't fair on them.

I was very impressed initially, more fool me. I will now go through small claims for my refund and will not deal with them again.

Ordered bathroom on 7/9/08 from Barnstaple store as they said they would match internet price. Arrange delivery for 18th November. Had phone call from Marktwo on 12th to say bathroom wouldn't be delivered until further notice. Barnstaple store closed down 2 weeks ago and Exeter has taken on customers. Tried ringing them constantly for last 2 days leaving messages but I haven't received a phone call back as yet. Marktwo wont refund money as they are a separate company to MFI and says I can order from them direct, if i can get a refund from MFI. MFI head office seemed unhelpful to me so I rang all available numbers on their Website to get told that Exeter can only deal with it. Sent emails as well but I have not yet received a reply. I have written to Exeter, I would go there in person but the store is 60miles away. Rung Truro and Plymouth stores but they have the same answer phone system which was unhelpful to me.

We ordered out kitchen from MFI on the 25th August, although we have got most of the cupboard we still have not received our appliances. We are currently in the process of trying to cancel the order as I never want to speak or see them again.

Order a kitchen in Sep 08. I am still waiting for delivery despite the old one being ripped out by MFI fitters on 29 Oct 08. I am currently looking at legal action to recover any cost incurred by myself. Don't go it alone use the Furniture Ombudsman 08701 620690 and lets hit them where it hurts.

On the 24 th July we agreed to purchase a dining rom table from MFI a Segensworth in Hampshire, we were quoted 8 weeks.
A week before the delivery we recieved a phone call advising that he delivery was nw out ntil te 11th November.

On the 11th November 2008 we ge a call asking for am pm delivery, we chose am delivery and sure enough some little obnoxious rude cretin turned up with the chairs and no table.

I called the MFI unhelpful customer service centre and got told it is now due the 12 Jan 09. Nobody called me I had to call them, no apology, no explanation just some inept individual with no clue telling me to take it up with the store I purchased it from.

I called the store and got the email adress of the manager, when I e mailed him it bounced back!

I am not giving up with this and I regret giving MFI any business. It certainly will not happen again.
