“Poor Customer Service”

The quality of the dress i ordered from Alight was as expected. Very happy with the product but not the color. Order placed 3/18/15. Needed to reutrn. I followed the return instructions -returning within the 30 days return date window. shipped USPS and insured/tracked $11.25. Return was received by Alight on 4/11/15. Emailed inquiring about when my credit would appear on my card - very friendly, seemingly helpful voice said it can take a few days. After several calls to not so pleasant voices and emails - promises of quicker service for my "return credit" - i received my credit today 5/18. This is not how i am accustomed to doing business over the internet - too many other places to shop for the same items with immediate credits upon return of merchandise.

“Horrible Company! ”

I purchased a pair of leggings from Alight and paid $8.50 for shipping. When my package arrived, I was required to pay extra postage at the post office because whoever shipped the package didn't put the appropriate amount. I contacted Alight twice about this issue. It has been 2 weeks and no one has contacted me. I paid $10 to ship a pair of leggings! I don't recommend this company at all! It shouldn't cost this much to ship a single small item and they've done nothing to rectify the situation

“Very Pretty Summer Dresses!”

I have been shopping online at Alight Plus Size Clothing for a few years, now and my closet is stuffed with Alight's beautiful summer dresses. I even bought my wedding dress there for my summer wedding. The dresses are well-made and all the ones I bought are machine washable with little or no ironing needed. The prints are pretty and unique, and often the dresses come lined. I would and have recommended Alight to my friends.

it is obvious that all of the Great reviews are from the owner and staff. This website is a joke, quality horrific and customer service abysmal. As someone in the clothing industry - I am amazed at how they stay in business.

“WORST ONLINE SERVICE EVER”

I have never been so unhappy. I have ordered twice from this company. They say their clothing is "in stock" and w/the two orders I've placed (and charged full price for)all the dresses I've ordered were out of stock yet they won't tell you they are out of stock. I even got charged the full price for my order which was never sent and they tell me my "refund" will take a week. DO NOT SHOP HERE. So many better options. Go to OneSTop Plus, Woman Within, Simply Be, Torrid. You will regret shopping w/this company

I was thrilled with the selection of larger sized evening dresses, so I I ordered an Alex Evenings dress for my step-daughter's wedding. I received a personal phone call from Alight asking for more details about my size. They said that these dresses run slightly large, and they just wanted to make sure that I would be happy with the fit. We agreed on the correct size. The dress arrived beautifully packaged. It fit perfectly and looks absolutely beautiful! Thank you for going the extra mile! This company actually cares about its customers. I will definitely shop with them again and have already recommended them to friends!

“Blue Plate Dresses”

I absolutely love the Blue Plate dresses that Alight carries! They fit beautifully, are extremely well sewn, and are very flattering to wear. I get complements on them every time I wear one. They wash well too! I originally found them listed on onestopplus.com (the website pulls stock from many different plus size clothing distributors). I ordered three Blue Plate dresses from onestop and was extremely happy with the dresses themselves but wasn't as happy with their shipping and customer service. The next time I wanted to order a few Blue Plate dresses and decided to go straight to Alight (which is where onestopplus.com pulls their orders from) and have been much happier with the customer service and with the shipping options. There was a time that I placed an order for a dress which ended up being out of stock. Rather than simply cancelling the order Alight's customer service dept. actually called me personally to let me know that it was out of stock and to help me pick something else out that might work just as well. In addition to that, they gave me a discount (I can't remember how much of one now) and shipped it for free. Excellent customer care! Also, in the comment section (of my most recent order with Alight) I wrote a brief comment about how much I appreciate that they carry Blue Plate clothing because they are such lovely and well made dresses. To my surprise, I received an email a few days later containing a personal note from the president of the company: " Thank you for your wonderful comments about our site. I am very happy to hear that you love our clothes! Even after 13 years in business, it is still gratifying to receive a comment like this! Norman Weiss President " I am very happy with Blue Plate for making such excellent clothing, and with Alight for carrying Blue Plate and for their excellent shipping and customer care. Highly recommend them both!

I've been using Alight for years while I'm living overseas - So convenient to be able to find a wide variety of clothes that I know will fit! I've always had good experiences with the ordering system and the selection, and shipping is always fast. I'm happy with the normal prices and especially happy with the sale prices! I keep an eye on the site even if I'm not looking for anything specific, because the sale prices are often so good that it would be silly not to buy! Highly recommended!

Alight was one of the first plus size online stores that I ordered from. This goes back several years. I recently bought a blouse and a sweater and they are so gorgeous. The blouse ran a little bit small, but I can still work with it. My fault for not really reading the size chart. I had a question and customer service was great. Great quality, item looks just like the image and shipping that was crazy fast. I'm so glad that, after all these years, their quality and shipping remain the same.

“Rude customer service”

I ordered a blouse from alight.com . The item did not fit. I returned the item and never got a reply. I called the company. The staff were rude and did not want to resolve the issue. I was told they sent out an email and they item was out of stock and they do not refund shipping.9.00 shipping on a 30.00 shirt with no offer to replace the out of stock item with another item. Snarky rude staff. I would never buy from this company again.

If you are looking to bring out the Goddess in you, the Diva in you or the sharp business woman Alight has the best selection I have ever seen and had the pure pleasure of wearing. These are quality garments with warmth and flare where you can easily tell they were made to accentuate and celebrate a curvaceous figure. These aren't your Grandma's clothes like way too many big gals store produce, these folks know fashion and are not afraid to show that. I am truly grateful a company exists like this that genuinely wants you to look your most fabulous. I'm glad you all are still thriving, as you should! Purchased a 1x dress. When it arrived the dress said XL and was very small. I called to ask some questions and the girl who answered was unenthusiastic and rude. I asked to speak to the manager and he was not much better. The dress was thin as paper and I spent extra to get it early. Total waste of time and money. If you are going to run a great business you need to have good customer service and they do not.

My experience with ordering a product from Alight/Sonsi was negative. Go to Sonsi and click on returns and then domestic. It will show the other retail partners that Sonsi works with which includes Alight and many others.

I returned my item with tracking and noticed after 13 days being delivered to Missouri (shipping/handling department) that I had not received an email stating that my item reached its destination or that I received credit for my item. I called Customer service for Sonsi/Alight and they tell me that it can take up to 2 weeks to get a refund. First of all I’m supposed to get an email stating when my item reached its destination which I did not get. Why do I have to call a business 13 days after my item was delivered to inquire about why I didn’t get credit? You don’t have to do that with JCPenney or Sears. The next day I call and they said I had received a refund. I was angry in the way they conducted their business that I asked to speak with a Supervisor. The lady kept giving me the run around telling me the Supervisors are tied up/unavailable. I told her to put me on hold until the Supervisors were available. I’m on hold for a little while. Then she tells me they are on the phone. So I told her to tell the Supervisor that there is an upset customer and I would like to speak to her. I told her that she could take the phone call that the Supervisor was on and let me speak with the Supervisor. Finally I got to speak with a lady that said she was a Supervisor, which she then later tells me she was the Manager. I spoke with her about how it took so long to get a refund and that I wanted to speak with the shipping department. I also asked her if she was going to take this complaint higher up and she said no. She said she would contact the shipping department and see why it took so long and call me back. I have not heard back!

I called and spoke with a guy, who said he would send my complaint to the corporate office and he gave me a case number. I’m still waiting to hear from them. If you have a complaint it supposedly goes through customer service and then they will forward it to the corporate office. But the customer service reps do not know who the CEO is of the company, they don’t know the address or the phone number to the corporate office, they don’t have the number for the shipping department in MO. My how convenient it is for Sonsi to not know that information when they are running this!!!


If you look at their return policy, they state they will send you an email when your item has reached its destination. They DO NOT send you an email when the item is received. They don’t send you an email intentionally. If they actually send an email out then they are acknowledging they have received your item.

I have figured out what they do at Alight. When you return an item it goes to Missouri which you somehow can’t contact them. This company is like a truck stop which is out in the middle of nowhere. They also state that you will receive an email when your item is received which they do not send you an email. Then they also have a number to call for Alight which is located in a house in NY. So what they will do is give you the run around if you call and ask why you haven't received a credit for an item you have returned. They won't give you the phone number of the shipping department. Supposedly there isn’t a way of contacting them. If you don't tell them that you have your item tracked they will say it got lost, there has been a snow storm, shipping got mixed up, etc and they won’t refund your money. You have no proof that it was delivered so they will keep your money. Their Alright store in NY has closed.

“Contradictory”

Alight has some cute clothes, but I find it kind of ridiculous that they use very small women as models for the websites clothing. It is a plus size clothing store after all, so why represent their apparel with thin people as if to point out that it does in fact look better on them as opposed to women with curves and a little more than curves.

I have figured out what they do at Alight. When you return an item it goes to St. Louis MO which does not have a telephone number. You can look it up on satellite view and see that it is out in the middle of no where. It looks like a truck stop almost. They are also not in the Better Business Bureau. They also state that you will receive an email when your item is received which they do not send you email. Then they also have a number to call which it looks like a house. So what they will do is give you the run around if you call and ask why you haven't received a credit for an item you have returned. They won't give you the phone number of the shipping department in St. Louis MO either. There isn't a phone number. If you don't tell them that you have your item tracked they will say it got lost, etc and they won’t refund your money. You have no proof that it was delivered so they will keep your money.

I will be using their website frequently now that I have found this store. I do buy a fair amount of clothing and I want to be dressed nicely and in style ... Alight allows me to do just that, even though I take a larger size.I have shopped at many of the plus size clothing stores, I do not know if I can mention their names in this review.
