“Liquidation”

★☆☆☆☆

written by DavidM007 on 07/03/2019

Drive 24-7 is in Liquidation, however the breakdown number is still active and it would seem that assistance will be provided to Service Agreement Holders until the policy expires. I have changed my car and this can not be added to the agreement so I will need to find a new service provider.

Tried for 1 hour to log onto their website but not possible to make changes due to error 404 however the breakdown phone number is working so at least for one of my cars I would be able to take up the service I pay for will have to try again tomorrow to log onto their website to make changes to second car, it should not be so difficult

I have only needed assistance a couple of times for minor issues, but I was impressed with the speed with which I was visited and the helpful friendly staff who attended. The fact that home start is included is a bonus as this is where things can go wrong- eg a flat battery after a holiday, but nevertheless stressful. So far not needed anything major! Hope it stays that way! Its easy to renew your policy and a great price too.

I have been impressed with Drive 24/7. It was very easy to do on line and the yearly cost is v reasonable. It was also simple to swap a new car onto it and renew for another year. They didn't try to increase the cost after one year either , instead giving me a loyalty bonus which was very welcome. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you 24/7

I haven’t used the service yet but the peace of mind provided is priceless. Excellent website with easy clear choices. Low payments for any options. You choose what you pay for. Tailored to your travelling needs. I’m sure if I have to use them the service would continue. I shopped around as I always do and their price was extremely competitive.

“Great product and service - thank you”

★★★★★

written by calamitym on 03/10/2018

I've used this breakdown cover for a couple of years now. No complaints and communication with the team is concise and quick. I took out key cover at renewal last year and it was a godsend when I lost a car key earlier this year. I was fully reimbursed for a new key. I have taken out again this year. I recommend the products and company to anyone. In fact I have recommended to a couple of friends...and am to whoever is reading this.

Excellent service, having been with this company for a couple of years now I find the process of renewing quick, simple and very user friendly, the website is clear and easy to navigate with a number of additional and useful features e.g. dates when MOT is due etc, fortunately have not had occasion to call on their services but have confidence that any issue will be dealt with in a professional and efficient manner, the package is very good value for money

“Good service great price”

written by on 29/09/2018

I’ve only had to call out them out once to reinstate a flat battery and the response and service on that occasion was fine. However, what makes drive 24/7 is that the annual price for the service actually went down when the loyalty bonus was included and that is truly unusual and impressive.

Can anybody tell me where to find contact numbers for either Drive 24/7 or emergency assist? I'm in the same situation as a lot if other people by the looks of it, paid my money in September then got told they would refund me as there is a dispute between the two companies. No refund and no breakdown cover!

Hi, they seem to do most stuff by email. I have cover with them. You could try that and they may be able to direct you to the right person

The supplier Emergency Assist Ltd should have sent you a letter giving you insight into what exactly has happened. It would also have the name of the owner/direct of Drive 24-7, along with his email and phone number. I have tried contacting him dozens and dozens of times but you will not get through. He ignores his emails and is mailbox is full. I have now opened up a claims and dispute for my refund with my bank who are more than happy to help. I would give this a try.

I was with these up until October of this year 2017, purely an on line business (to keep costs down) I emailed them with a couple of questions regarding the increase in price when I had already had a cheaper renewal price from them, I didnt get a proper answer other than the price increase was necessary, I didnt renew as a matter of principle because I was promised the cheaper renewal by email from them, I went elsewhere and got the same cover slightly cheaper. They do take a long time to answer mails but once you are with them its ALL done on line including managing your account and documents, my account is still open Ive just accessed it so I would assume they are still in business, they are pretty cheap, I waited around 30 mins when I last used them about 11 months ago, although I can vouch that you can get the same cover elsewhere if you shop around!!! but on another note 24/7 is easy to manage on line!!

You pay for it?? 1 call means exactly that 1 call!!!!!! unless you have an excess where you pay when you call an excess, really you need a bit more protection than just 1 call out, check others some give 3 or 4 call outs just shop around!!! even new cars can breakdown so 1 call out is not enough protection for anybody really i dont think!!!

Hi, no payment is required on the day if you have a breakdown. Those fees are covered by your annual premium
Report this content angiejones56 Written on: 12/07/2016
No the cost is covered by your initial payment. Just need to sign to say work completed that's all. They will come to you. Find out the problem do thework to repair it if possible and its done. I used to think that you had to pay the top three prices to get good eefficient servicei.e. the AA or RAC as I did once use. But its not true 24/7 give a good service for a more reasonable price.

You wont pay at the time, only if they have to put in a new part. If they get you going from Breakdown. Battery fault. Flat tyre etc. But parts are extra. They all charge this Other Companies. Hope this helps. This is still by far the best Breakdown srevice. Always read the small print and it will tell you what is free etc Tow to Garage is free if they cant get you going at the roadside. Then if garage have to put new part in etc then you will pay for that. Hope this helps
Report this content Guardsman23865959 Written on: 27/03/2017
There is no charge for a call out or even a Tow to garage if it cant be fixed on the road. So if you have a flat battery. blowout and as long as you have a spare in good repair you will pay nothing. But if parts are needed ie Bulbs, etc You will be charged. So first one hours labour is free. Please read your Small print and all is explained. With the New 2017 service you can make many call outs without extra charge, Apart from parts again Hope this helps then please ask Ps Make sure you write details of your car make etc and above all have the number of Breakdown tel number on a piece of paper in your glove box With you breakdown members number. But dont worry you may never need them. Happy Motoring

I don't think that this is correct, but would advise that you check it out with 24/7. Especially not for someone who like yourself is disabled. I for one would not use a company who are not reliable at all times, from my point of view because of my job that involves me being out visiting people at night, and in all weather an seasons. If I had a breakdown etc, being that would be alone in my car, I wish for a company that would be able to promptly help me. Hope you can get a reassuring reply from 24/7, I feel sure that you will.

From what I read in my policy its 24 7 cover nothing about any extra charges or no call outs on weekend. I would make sure that if you ever required a call out that you inform them again at the time that your disabled. I know from BITTER experience even 2 of the other well known companies would NOT or could not transport a disabled customer in the recovery vehicle and recommended we used a taxi and tried to claim the fare back later.
Report this content Guardsman23865959 Written on: 27/03/2017
This is not true, You may find that being a weekend you may have to wait a bit longer ie Easter, Christmas Holidays, But thats to be expected With the new 2017 cover you are not resticted to how many call outs you have. Just make sure you have your details Membership number in your glove tray and all should be well. Hope this helps H

Don't go near them....the coil spring on my car broke..when I phoned them..I was told as it wasn't an electrical or mechanical fault......it was an accident...and they wouldn't come out....I had to pay a breakdown truck to tow me to a local garage where the mechanic told me it was definitely a mechanical fault...and I should not drive when this happens as the broken part could slash the tyre....I eventually ..through persistence...and sending them the bill...got my money back...steer clear

Basically, with this company, if there's any way that they can get out of helping you when you break down, they will. I bought their policy for a new (to me) car. I had to call them out 2 weeks later because of a flat battery. Their agent advised me that the problem was the battery, and advised me to get a new one, which I did. 2 weeks later, same problem - and when I called them I was told they wouldn't come out because it was the same problem. Even when I agreed to pay for them to come out, they initially said someone would be there in 45 minutes. After an hour I phoned them and they said it would be another 30 minutes. After another 45 minutes I phoned the RAC, who were there within 10 minutes, and I was happy to sign up with them, despite it costing me £70 more than it would have done if I'd chosen them in the first place. As hamyam21 says - stay clear of them.
