i have been doing this diet for 5 years on and off, it works as it is a drastic change to your normal diet. i lost over 2 stones in the past 5 years with Special K and it is not bland there is such things as sweetners and if you swap normal milk for alpro soya its a smooth creamy satisfying taste! it fills you up and keeps you going till dinner time, my only problem was not having that extra bowl before bed! tip: do not measure the cereal just have a normal size cereal bowl i don't believe measuring cereal is appropriate unless you seriously cannot control your portions. it could be a bit cheaper but thats only because i buy up to 4 boxes a week! i love Special K.

Wow special K, the tv commerical oh how there is so much calarioes, i wonder how many people luck at the sugar contence i reckon 2.5% out off 10% dont. Sugar X24 bowls or special K products equals a high sugar contence equals: for diabectics there sugar levels are off the roof.
Past: ive eatten sppecial k and i have put on pounds and have felt slugish after eating the cereal/cereal bars
i would reconment

I dont think this is a wonder diet and you should not do it for too long but it always works for me. If I feel I am eating too much I do this in the week (not at weekends) then after the two weeks I swap to salads for lunch. The diet just really kick starts my need to eat less without having to think too much about food, I always lose between 5 or 7 pounds in the first week, I make sure I drink lots of water and eat fruits and vegetables.

I tried this diet just as a taster to see if it made any difference to my weight so i could review it to other people. I found that the taste made me feel ill after a while because the cereal to me tasted dry and very bland so matter how many other flavours i tried none of them suited me. I tried adding fruit e.t.c but it still tasted quite plain. It didn't fill me up enough and found myself half the time looking for food.
Before this diet i had porridge instead, once in the morning and most of the time it saw me through till dinner, i added one tablespoon of sugar and some sliced bananna or strawberries e.t.c and i must say i managed to get a new taste everyday, it also kept me full up over such a long period of time it was unbelievable, the best part being it burns off the fat slowly so you have enough energy and end up feeling full. In a week i managed to lose 5 pounds which i must say astonished me beyond belief as i have been on a weight watchers diet since january and have never managed to lose so much!
So porridge over special k!

I had been eating Special K for just over a week and was significantly underwhelmed. I couldn't continue it because it left my stomach extremely bloated and uncomfortable. Unless you want a stomach full of gas, don't eat this cereal! Opt for a genuinely nutrituous breakfast (e.g. porridge, natural yoghurt with fruit)that's not going to leave you feeling like a big bloated hog.

When I took up the Special K two week diet, I stuck to it religiously. I even kept a diary of what I ate and how much I exercised each day - and I did exercise a lot. Throughout the whole two weeks I lost 1 pound and I think this was probably more to do with me watching what I ate, denying myself that extra chocolate bar and getting my lazy self off the couch and onto the wiifit.
That's not to say the diet doesn't work. As I discussed with my friend, my BMI is just over 25 and I often used to skip meals before the diet anyway so whilst I was eating more healthily, my food intake didn't decrease enough for it to show. For a person who's food intake is quite high and well over the 2000 calories recommended, if they were to use the diet and started eating less than I believe it would show more on them.
I do feel somewhat mislead by Special K though as they don't state this anywhere and they need to make it more clear.

Been on the diet for 1 week and have lost 3 pound!!! very pleased, I believe the reason you loose weight is purely because you are eating less calories and it is very controlled. I do not think however this is a diet to follow for more than 2 weeks as you do need variety in a diet! It has definately stopped me from snacking all day long though, which I believe to be the reason I put on weight anyway. I do exercise daily but if you are eating more than you are burning it will make no difference how much exercise you do!!!! Good Luck everyone :)

i tried the special K diet for just over a week, i was planning to do it for the whole 2 weeks but after the first week i stepped on the scales and had actually put on 2lbs. I could not believe it. I had stuck to the diet well a bowl for breakfast, one for lunch and a healthy dinner, for snacks the only thing i had per day was a bannana or a low fat youghurt. I have no idea why i put on weight but i stopped it there and then, i am now eating healthily and going to the gym and have lost a few lbs. I like special k as a cereal it is nice but the diet just didnt work for me.

Just started today but must say so far I feel very hungry not having a normal lunch but just a banana and a bowl of Special K with fat free yoghurt.
Not sure if I can sustain it. Takes time to get used to it I guess. Hope to loose 1 stone. The taste is good, better than other cereals.
Don't like cereals with milk much so use fat free yoghurt.

I tried this for a while and ended up with Iron deficiency. I am not sure the cereals have all the nutrients they claim on the packet. It is a convenient way to diet. But if you are young and planning to start a family this is not good. I have now gone back to eating normal diet in moderation ofcourse with excercise.

I've been on this for 2 weeks and basically have stayed the same weight. I've been religious about it and I'm also doing exercise whilst running after a small child, but nothing has shifted.
Back to a sensible diet and see how I go!

Hi everyone i have been on the special k diet for 6 days and so far i have lost 7 pounds. I am so pleased i am feeling much better in myself. The choice of ceral is great so there is no need to get bored eating the same cereal every day. The snack bars are great if you feel hungry but if you drink plenty of water i find i don't get hungry. I am so pleased with how it's going and how i feel the 2 week quick start now does not seem an impossible task to achieve.
Good luck everyone i hope you have as much sucess as i am having.

I have a normal bmi but feel better about half a stone lighter. thought I would try the special k diet as previously eating pattern quite erratic, and thought 2 bowls of cereal would be easy.- followed it to the letter including measuring portion and have GAINED 5 pounds in 5 days. Anybody else had similar experience?

Been doing it for one week lost 5 pounds. Not long term but think gives good kick start to stopping overloading plate with food. Not been overly hungry but if started to feel peckish had some fruit or low fat yoghurt. also had some wine as treat!!!!! Only down side is quite expensive unless super has it on special offer. Good luck people, x

I have been on this diet for a little over a week. I have lost about 4 pounds. I like this diet because it does all the hard work for me (apart from all the exercise!)I don't have to look around for something healthy to eat for lunch everyday. I found it in tescos and morrisons half price so I bought 4 boxes. I like the chocolate ones the most as they get rid of and chocolates cravings that I usually have! I am defietely going to stick to this as long as I can. What I have been eating:
Breakfast - Half a grapefruit and a banana + cup of green tea
Lunch - Bowl of cholate specail K cereal + cup of green tea
Dinner - Low fat ready-meal (Weight watchers or supermarket brand )
I think this comes to around 1000 cals a day, (maybe less) I don't know if that's healthy or not but i'm losing the weight! Also doing Hannah Waterman body blitz workout DVD...that's hard work!!!!
I won't lie though, You WILL be hungry :(

I started this diet 2 wks kick start plan to lose the weight I put on at Christmas. I have lost that in 6 days (5 pounds) and find I am only hungry just before my next meal so just right. It is easy to measure out by using a tea/coffee mug normal size guessing about half pint mug at most. I am being careful with evening meals too for example having boiled potatoes instead of oven chips. I have had the odd Quality Street that was hanging around too so very please. I have to say I have started using my stepper at least once a day but mostly twice a day starting at 10 mins and now at 12mins a time. Hopefully this will steadily grow as I get fitter. The recipies for the proper meals are easy and can be swapped around to suit what you fancy on the day but you can just have what you want within reason and don't have to follow the recipies they are just there for ideas I think to help you along. I have not used this but online you can have a buddy to keep you motivated and there is a forum too for info and help. So to me what more do you want. Go for it and good luck. Cazzy

I have been on this diet two days and also I did this diet an about a year ago. I feel the cereals itself keeps me bloated (any type),however I dont feel hungry at all. I like the food variation from the web site. On the other side I don't think I am going to continue...

Are you speaking from experience as a Diabetic? Have you ever thought that maybe these diabetics dont haveproper control of their diabetes in the first place OR that they are going above and beyond the recommended serving size? I am type 1 Diabetic, and I have been on this routine on and off for a few months (regularly have Special K for breakfast even when I am not on the eating plan) and my sugar levels have been perfectly stable.
And if you are putting on pounds eating Special K, I think its probably more to do with EVERYTHING else you are eating, rather than a small serving of a high protein, low GI cereal. Rant finished.
