I applied for Insurance with ASDA ONLINE EXCLUSIVE![SOUTHERN ROCKS]
What terrible communication!!
Nobody e-mails ,with answers!
Their messed me about , so, my time was up to cancel my policy.
Then, their wanted £50 off me to cancel it.
I have sent a letter of complaint!!
I would never reccomend this company to anybody!!"

Southern Rock Car Insurance's customer services are very poor. Can't contact them £ per min.

Poor communication from southern rock car insurance, tried to raise premium mid term quoting i had the incorrect type of no claims discount???? apparently my last car wasn;t the correct type of car to have NCD Terrible, terrible,terrible

I was involved in an accident 7 weeks ago and have only just received a settlement figure, which is way below a like for like replacement. Southern Rock Car Insurance have also overcharged on the excess amount and continuously stated they had received my documents which were forwarded by my claims people. I'm still waiting for a a response to my disputed amount and overcharge on the excess.

I found Southern Rock Car Insurance very difficult to get hold of, was in a queing system for 25 mins on thier phone lines, emailed twice and still not recieved a phone call. Would never use again

Bad communication. Accident in July 2008 - Court papers issued by other party and at this time Jan 2009 I can not get any advice or contact with The Claims Service or Eldon Services who are dealing with this claims on behalf of Southern Rock.

This is my second year with this company, and in all probability my last. A non-fault accident last year, paid out within about eight weeks, apart from the excess, which took ten months! They, or 'The Claims Service', were chasing the wrong third party insures for five months, then claimed not to have received the required paperwork from me on three occasions. When the cheque finally arrived, it was made out incorrectly and had to be replaced - a further three weeks.
Let's forget about my car park accident - my one and only fault claim. The money they wasted on hire charges for third party was obscene.
My latest, and current non-fault claim, sees 'The Claims Service' offering me a pittance for my written off car, totally insufficient to replace like with like. Now the hire company are demanding their car back next week, without the claim being satisfactorily resolved, and advise me to accept the offer as an 'interim settlement', in order to purchase another car. So, I'm expected to use this pittance to buy a far inferior vehicle, ie. an old banger, or walk. I'm LIVID!
I'm being penalised financially for being the innocent victim in this case, and am having serious doubts as to whether the law firm appointed to deal with the personal injuries claim will actually work for MY benefit.
I see the problem as 'The Claims Service' operating in the interests of the insurance companies who pay them, and not the interests of the policy holders who fund their payment.
I shall be looking next year for a company that operates it's own claims service, to work for ME and not the third party insurers.

I have run out of my insurance on the 1/Sep/08. Normally couple of weeks prior to expiration of your policy, your insurance company writes to you, telling you about that and also giving you a new quote. They haven't even bothered to do so. Only today the 7th I realised the insurance I had has finished. I could end up in court because of that. Now I am trying to locate them and speak to them, their number is not listed with 118118 that I can find, I can not find their details on company house because they are apparently registered in Gibraltar, hence no one really knows who they are and whom I have been paying to for last year.

I took out car insurance with them individually, paid £89 for 1st 3 months cover. Cancelled my policy the next day as my partner could get it cheaper as second named on his insurance (also with them). They refunded me £10.93 ( £50 admin fee, £25 cancellation fee) even though I was still to remain with them! I was stunned with these charges... and all this took over 1 month to confirm! They rarely answer phones; I waited an astounding 25 mins and 40 mins respectively before giving up. They say they're largely internet based... it took 3 emails and over 2 weeks before I had an email response.

Southern Rock Car Insurance has to be the worst car insurance in the world!!! I put a claim in at the beginning on March 2008 as my car broken into my window was smashed and my car bonnet was damaged!! My window didn't get repaired until Midnight when my car got broken into early hours of the morning and my car bonnet as still not been fixed it is now the end of March 2008 so for a month i have had a broken car sitting outside my house and no one has called me once you have to call them all the time and they never know what you are talking about when you call them!! I would advise people not to get insurance with them I got it through QUTOELINE DIRECT which is another story!! Can not wait to cancel my policy with this company!!!

Totally agree with all your comments about Southern Rock. Charlatans, thieves and robbers come to mind, There needs to be a facebook campaign to warn unsuspecting victims about them and all the companies they presently underwrite ie., Asda online and E-Car
