we have now had virgin media for 6 months. we had to wait 2 months for the install. and we booked a 8 till 12 appointment and waited in all day. they showed up at 7pm. (yes 7pm). we paid (yes paid) £75 for installation when they were doing a free installation just to have v+. we are now on our 5th v+ box and surprise surprise it has broken again. called there f**ckwitts in india and got nowhere. our broad band and tv are not working.

Virgin Media are a total shower! Having waited since last November (yes last November!!!) for those idiots to fix my telephone landline (whilst still continuing to bill me £12 per month for a service I was not receiving) I became so annoyed with dealing with the people that they employ I've now switched to BT (who are brilliant I might add!) PLEASE DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GET VIRGIN MEDIA IT IS RUBBISH!!!

We have had Virgin Media for about 3 years now,The Broadband is the only good thing about it, the Television is terrible the V+ box keeps rebooting, and we have a file that is corrupted and the only way to get rid of it is format over our recordings, still on the subject of the V+ box the thing is ugly, noisy and we brought a film once and it crashed the box and we never got to see the film.

I switched from Tiscali to Virgin on 20/10 It is now 04/12 and set up is not complete. 3 promise dates have been missed. It is impossible to speak to a person to get explanations. Call centre in India cannot give any assistance. Virgin customer service is shambolic. Contacting the right department takes forever. Last month my virgin home phone was out of order for 4 days. This month it is off again and I have to wait 7 days for an engineer. This is appalling service and I want to warn other potential customers.

so in june i phone virgin media and ask them to rack down my package, i drop to 2 meg broad band and do away with the films and sport. i informed the very helpfull lady in customer services that i dont want to be forced into a contract as i will be leaving the property at any time , this she tells me is ok and puts a note on my account. allways be carefull and state that you dont want to enter into a contract when you change anything with your package they restart your 12 month contract !!!!!!… Read Full Review

Virgin Media has as good customer services as the other telcos/ISPs etc. The only major thing I have against them is the promise of more HD content - they have not delivered enough to me on that promise!

Service wise - they came out (me not in) and sorted out the cable outside the next day, it was a complaint from my neighbour of the cable flapping in front of their window - I had no issue.

The VOD menu is more annoying than BTs aswell - but depends on how much you want to spend. BTs VOD system… Read Full Review

My broadband connection with Virgin Media has been down for 21 days now (and counting). Despite 11 phone calls to attempt to resolve the problem.

I have since lodged a complaint with OFCOM (and would urge others experiencing problems to do the same). A detailed letter of complaint has also been sent to Virgin Media via email (after 3 full working days, no response has been received to date).

I have had the unfortunate experience of having to ring Virgin Media/NTL several times, due to telly breaking up and freezing (this took several calls and over 4 months to sort).

I have also had broadband issues on and off.

Customer service is a maze. Each person they put you through asks for the story again. It is so frustrating you are left with 1 hour or more of phone calls and nothing ever sorted.

Where to start! I signed up about 6 weeks ago for the Virgin Media phone, broadband and cable TV and it was meant to be all up and running a month ago. I have been repeatedly promised to be connected, engineers don't always come out, the north London area manager is was rude, vague, and unable to help or make sure I'm connected. If you buy this with the L Broadband package you save an extra £5 a month.
Vigrin is cheaper than NTL although the TV and Broadband services are now worse.
The phone through, just on its own is as any phone, just the same as everywhere else. We have had no problems with them over the phone so if you have VM already, then add the phone package and save some money… Read Full Review

I wish I knew about the review section before I signed my 'death warranty'. I have never known hell until I decided to bring Virginmedia into my life. I signed the contract on September 25, 2007 and it is a month and I still do not have my home phone. The broadband is worse than dial up. The television has a mind of its own, working when it wants to.

We had Sky+ £53 a month,
BT line rental (we never actually use the landline, we live off our mobiles) £45 a month
Wireless Broadband with Netvigator now called NOW £18 a month
So logically we thought all of the above for a mere £30 are we stupid or what?

I have been using Virgin Media for a while with TV, phone and broadband and only have problems!
I will not recommend this company to anyone and I am now looking to switch in summary, this company changes the rules ALL THE TIME and NEVER to your advantage.
1/ my phone used to ring 6 or 7 times and its now ringing 3 times and sometimes twice only and then it goes to voicemail. As a result I miss all the calls and I have to call back the caller.

No problem! I do think it's not normal that they make you watch every single calls you do and all the other things with it that you have to pay when they should be available to you. I always thought Virgin would be a very good company to have as a supplier, but gosh, I was sooo wrong! I have now switched back to BT...
