“Rip off in every form! ”

This company has dodgy internet. Mine goes out about 5 or 6 times a day. You have no choice but to sign up for them in Hull, yet they put you in a minimum 18 month contract. When you do move out of the area and they dont cover your new house, you have to pay them to end the contract!! Oh and dont let them know on short notice you are moving. Because then you Still have to pay for 30 days of service although they disconnect the service from the house the moment you let them know you are moving… Read Full Review

This company I would not recommend to anyone, its packages are over prices, the quality of the service isnt reliable and its customer services is pathetic. This company refuses to admit their faults, when it comes to the service its always your fault and they refuse to check their systems which I have found 10 times out of 10 its never been my equipment at fault and if they had checked their end then the problem would have been resolved on the spot. We have exceeded our limit on broadband. They were not open to buy a top up on Sunday and when we bought the top up it did not start until midnight the same night. There should be some waver on fees if you are not provided a way of immediately solving your issue. Other providers have been more helpful in the past I would not recommend this firm as they do not accommodate issues. Pay £20.98 a month just for broadband, can double that with phone line rental. I signed up for "Up to 5 Mb/s". (Their mid broadband package)several years ago, paying £16.49 month. I never ever got anywhere near that speed, the best I actually got was 3.5Mb/s. Could only get that if I unplugged my phone when the engineer came to check the lines. Just the worst company. Broadband speed is horrible. Even on so overpriced fiber optic speed spikes up and down... Not mentioning that modems they give can't support more then 0.5MB/s otherwise they just crashing 3 times a week.Just the worst company I have ever come across… Read Full Review

While I would prefer to be able to choose any broadband supplier and remain envious of people in other parts of the country, my review is strictly aimed at the tech staff. I've been (attempting to) run a home-based business on Karoo for a year. Worst year ever. Constant drop-outs (100 a week on average) and our average surfing speed for the twelve-month period was 1.9mb. Called customer service many times, left on hold for an average of 25 minutes each time only to be met with the same raft of excuses. I'm having the same experiences as others on this forum, it's criminal. I'm online browsing and suddenly pages stop loading quickly and it takes minutes for pages to appear. Son is playing online gaming and gets so frustrated he ends up switching... that's just not acceptable that we pay for the service and yet we cannot get full value from that service?? Karoo broadband is absolutely rubbish. I probably won't get this review finished as it is off most of the time. Sometimes I cannot get online for over an hour and for the price I pay this is unacceptable. My family members who live different areas of Hull all have the same problem so it is not my equipment which is the cause. I run a business in Hull - this year I've lost 37 working days due to no connection. Moving my business to Manchester in three months.

Your comment does not surprise me in the least. I just don't know how Kingston Communications get away with taking payment for a service they obviously do not supply. I know of not one person who has a connection that does not repeatedly cut off.

Have waited about 4 weeks for a repair to my line.No engineer has been to check the line dispite assurances they would repair within a week.Totally untrustworthy company.Ofcom needs urgently to investigate this company that abuse their market dominance.

Recently moved back into Hull from the sticks,where we tried Sky and BT..both pretty good. Got the You View box from Humax 150 channels,some with good HD and happy. Took advantage of the lighstream deal,moderately faster internet, but knocked out the Humax channels, down to 60. We rang KC helpline,got pushed onto Humax..back to KC.No one could actually be bothered,backwards and forwards..getting more and more dissatisfied. 3 and a half months on and the replacement box is exactly the same as expected,I have been told that an engineer will cost £120 for a call out !!!for a service that has been paid for but isn't satisfactory and hasn't worked properly.If i could take the 1 star off my review I would do so. My so called 10mbp broadband has been very slow and disconnecting every minute or so.Karoo promised no more than 5 working days. After 5 working days they 'repaired the problem' and my speed 'increased to 1mbs. Then it has stopped again.Now Karoo want me to wait another 5 working days. Much much business down the drain.They have cost my business and many others a fortune.This compant should be closed down as they are only an ISP in name.
