Generally good bike all over its just those gears are a problem. I dont like the way they work and they dont seem as smotth as they should be. The frame of the bike is absolutely class though. I love it.

Took it to a bike shop to get repaired and got ripped off instead. They took it for a test ride and called me on the phone. They then said that i need to replace the headset the rear cog the chain and the crank on the front. so a very expensive repair job. My advice stay clear of the carrera Banshee.

To conclude I'd say this bike is astonishing, due to the brilliant combination of the parts. The anatomy of the bike is definitely unmatchable for the price I paid.

I would recomend this to any serious mountain biker and you realy do get what you pay for the suspension is apsolutley out of this world, and you can adjust the suspension to different types of riding.

I think that the Carrera Banshee is a very good bike. Its really comfortable to ride and looks great. I also think its great value for money.

absolute rubbish for everything i advise you not to buy it it was the biggest waist of money i have ever had and i work in a bike shop myself and we generally do not sell carreras. Heavy, unreliable and poor suspension..overall just dont buy it

Well I thought I would like to upgrade my old bike(carrera fury),and had a open minded look around,I had a look at some marins, scotts, specialised etc.I was looking to spend 1500 - 2000.One Day I wnet into halfords to get a couple of things for the car-and ended up in the bike section.I had a look at the carrera Banshee X-I COULD NOT BELIEVE the value of this bike!!And as my carrera fury had been so good I decided to buy it!!This bike is UNDER HALF of my original budget, and i am delighted with it!My bikes have regularly been of road, and I can honestly say they are capable machines, they have a little more weight to them than the more expensive bikes,Ive Had mates take the mickey out of me for having a Halfords Bike, but I have wiped the smile of their faces when I have gone Stonking past them!!Highly recommended bike!!

Rubbish. My Carrera Banshee broke when I go of jumps and curbs, the chain snaps too often.

I found this review unhelpful because... it was written by an idiot offering no real further details.

I found this review unhelpful because... he says he likes the bike then he says he hates it, make your mind up, no further details about bike experience etc.

Bike still going strong. For 500 this bike is great done 3 merida marathons last year no problem plus loads of training only prob suspension bolt snapped after one year. Swarf were spokes come through on rim caused punctures on inside fixed it myself emery cloth to get edge off then put gaffer tape round to be sure no probs in a year

The Carrera Banshee has really good suspension, the frame is strong as well. The only things i didnt like were the colour, oh and the suspension could do with being a bit bigger.

Good for mountain biking but could do with flower discs. Unbelievable suspension on the Carrera Banshee mountain bike but its just too expensive.

I got the Carrera Banshee when I first started riding about 3 years ago It was a great bike for somone like me who was just getting into DH/FR. As I progressed I found the bikes componants like the front forks (sr sun tours) and the rims were just not up for the 8ft drops i was sending it off which was fair enough considering the £500 I paid for it. So i maid a few up grades, a pair of Halo combats and a set of marozcchi junior T's and boy does this thing perform the frame has stayed stiff at every drop, kicker and rock garden I have thrown at it. If it was just for the frame this review would be 10/10. A truly great all-round bike whether you're into all-mountain or the fast and furious DH runs. I truly recommend It!

I have taken it off a 8 foot drop (with the mods) and it was fine. Good stock bike for the price but one it has been modified it is brilliant i have a banshee and a kona stinky 06 and actually prefer the Carrera banshee (if you want to customise your banshee change the stem to a shorter one the front forks to drop off 3's and the rear shoxs to fox float without propedal that what my bike has but a few other parts extra). Nothing really mine was stock for 2 years and nothing broke i didnt even get a puncture. after the second year i became really unlucky with my bike and have had 8 puntures and a part of the gears broke off twice just by pedaling?

I don't think much of halfords, built my bike myself instore but Carrera bikes, if you go for the higher price range '£600+ you'll get a quality setup.

I push the carrera banshee as much as it can handle it is such a good allrounder i have come quite attached to it. a good all rounder dirt jump mid downhill and free ride

I've had this bike three months and everytime ive ridden on it, its punctured on the inside of the tube from sharp edges on the spokes.i took it back to halfords and they didn't want to know. my overall opinion . a load of rubbish
