Failed to deliver on promised date (don't know whose fault, Hotpoint or courier) but we're on time on 2nd date and communication was exellent.

“Would have been a 5 star”

We had a washing machine delivered and all went very well up to and including the delivery. We received confirmation texts on the date of delivery and although initially advised that it would be between 7am and 7pm nearer to delivery this was reduced to a 2 hour slot on the day. We had a confirmation text and automated call the evening before and the driver called about 10 minutes before arriving - all in all a brilliant service on that part. Installation fine - quick and hazard free. However when we used the machine fully for the first time and also when we wash up there is a leek from the pipe that previously had a hot water pipe attached to it and the old machine (no longer required). This seemed to get better but now appears to be getting progressively worse. Will need to call in a plumber. Have said I wouldn't recommend but actually would if delivering another item. Would now know to get them to double check everything before leaving.

Many thanks for leaving us this feedback. I am so sorry that your hot water pipe seems to be leaking. The drivers usually do not need to touch the hot water pipe when installing a new appliance, although they do usually leave a brass cap to go on the end of it so that there are no leaks. “very basic service”

del date 01/05/2013 crew CW85 great message to tell me del time and they were just on the timescale .delivered my washer into the kitchen all packaged up , i asked if they had dropped it ,they said no..he asked for my signature and went .. no offer to unpack machine to inspect it or to take away wrapping..this was a very basic delivery no more no less. i am over 60yrs female with heart problems and live as carer to my 90yr old father who was very ill at the time ,i had to struggle to get the wrapping off and then figure out how to connect it up a bit of help would have been appreciated but was not offered..S.lewis...........

“Very well organised”

I had two deliveries which I was informed about the day before and given a time slot. Both times the driver rang me in the morning and turned up when they said they would. They were polite and did the job professionally. Unfortunately my fridge had a dent on the door, no signs on packaging of this so it may well have happened before the delivery, who knows.??

“Late Delivery”

Booked timed delivery (10:00 to 14:00) for 3 appliances. Times confirmed at 7:00 on delivery day. At 12:30 the driver rang to say he was running 1 hour late. At 14:30 he rang again to ask where the property was - he was at that time about 3 miles away. Delivery finally arrived at 14:50. Appliances delivered, but they would not wait for them to be opened for inspection. "If there is a problem you have 5 days" was the answer when queried. It appears that their round had them up and down the the same mainroad four times before they delivered to us. Its a shmae because all the rest of the service is fine, but when you pay for a timed delivery it should take place as arranged. There has been no offer of a refund on the extra delivery charge.

“EL be aware: installer competence is crucial!”

The overall operational procedures seem to be very efficient and we were very well-advised and informed pre-delivery; we just may have been unlucky with the installer! Our washing machine deliverer/installer seemed to be under a bit of pressure to get in and out asap. The last transport bolt proved somewhat resistant as it was being pulled out at the wrong angle (leaning over the top of the machine). After a final frustrated wrenching, the plastic covering was stripped off (whilst I was watching) leaving the metal bolt to drop down with a thud out of sight. Assuming it to be on the floor I left the installer to complete the job and after a few minutes he left. On returning to the utility room, I found only 3 transport bolts, implying the 4th was inside the machine. I directly contacted LG, who advised me I should not use the machine and an immediate replacement would be authorised. They spoke to, and then put me through to EL who, after contacting the installer, courteously apologised and promised delivery and installation of a new machine the next day. They were as good as their word. The machine was indeed delivered and installed by the very competent 'A Team', alias [names removed] , who were most amiable and efficient and somewhat restored my confidence in the company. Expert Logistics responded wholly appropriately and efficiently in this situation, and their pre-delivery contact, etc. was outstanding BUT my recommendation would be to be absolutely certain as to the competence of every one of their 'ambassadors'. Compromising quality of service for profitability could potentially be extremely damaging to their reputation and, ensuing remedial action, however speedy, may not be sufficient to inspire confidence in the future. That said, if the company were to guarantee the same 'A Team' [names removed] quality of service, I would not hesitate to use the company again.

“Too much information!”

We ordered a dishwasher online. Delivery came when expected. Nowadays that's a rarity, so for that I give full marks. However the booking in of the delivery is all about their convenience not the customers. As promised they did text me at 7-00am to advise of delivery time slot of 3 to 7 pm. Great. I had left my mobile downstairs so not to wake us. However they then also called the home landline at 7-00 am via an automated call to tell us the same information thus waking the entire housold. We then got a further call from the delivery driver at 3-20 pm to tell us delivery would be between 3 and 7 pm but when I asked him what time he actually thought he would be with us he couldn't say other than it would be between 3-7, so really a complete waste of time that call, except to establish we would be in for them & clearly it wasn't coming between 3 & 7 as it was 3-20 already & he wasn't just around the corner. The delivery arrived at around 6-30 p, & was efficiently left with us. So overall job done as promised but overkill on the booking in system.

“dishwasher”

poor delivery. Notified by phone and text of a 12-1600h deliver. Tracked on lone and told 11-1300h deliver but did not turn up until 19.00h. So a days holiday from work wasted !!!

“I liked being kept in touch and the email contact in...”

I liked being kept in touch and the email contact in general. This was excellent. I wasn't too happy with the negativitiy of the delivery men. The first thing I was told was that this won't go through the door. There are always solutions but this wasn't the approach taken. As this is the only personal contact with the company, I think it should be a more positive experience. The personal contact is really important. I am delighted with the product.

“WASHER”

We were diappointed tha the dryer did not arrive with the washer and we were not informed. We only found out whne hte delivery truck arrived at the door. On the plus side the Appliance direct agent sorted out a replacement dryer in less than 30 mins ans new machine was delviered 4 days later.

“Zabussi Washing Machine”

Everything up to the delivery and installation of the washing machine was fine. However, when it came to install this could not be done as the manufacturers water and waste pipes were not long enough. I was told this is a common problem but they could not carry out the installation I had paid for. I was refunded the cost but had to buy extension pipes and fittings and install the machine myself. Why can't this be sorted at source and you have 2 types of pipe available. ie) standard and long lengths?

“Chest Freezer Delivery”

They had to rearrange the initial delivery date I hasd selected but was kept well informed and given alternative date that suited me. Delivery arrived within the timeslot they had given me. Only thing unhappy with is that although I'd paid for the old freezer to be taken away they would not take away the lid as it had broken off the freezer- so left with a lid to recycle myself. Without the recycling part I would have given 4* for service.

“Slick process and comms was let down by poor attitude ”

Whole post order process was impressive. Comms on delivery status were great. One driver was polite and helpful but unfortunately the other was rude and aggressive. While parking he was shouting at his colleague calling him an idiot. Despite me declaring stairs and no lift on my order he was argumentative about delivering to the first floor. He entered the flat leaving muddy boot prints on the carpet. The old appliance was removed as requested without much care and i was told 'fitting not included'. Meanwhile the other driver had single handed brought the new fridge freezer to the first floor. The first guy passed the clipboard and barked 'sign' at me then left. The other wished me a good weekend. Ultimately one person has managed to undermine all the positive things around what would otherwise have been a really easy experience.

“Late with no update given”

Had many deliveries from EL where communication has been great. This time the planned delivery windows was well communicated but the actual delivery turned up over 2hrs later but no update was given by the drivers. They also refused to take away the packaging which again is not the standard service provided. That said, the drivers were friendly and courteous.

I am unsure as I had only electrical items delivered, but given their receptiveness, a quick call to the office should answer your question regarding your old cooker.

Unfortunately I can't help. As my Cooker was to be fitted the following day by arrangement through a local CORGI Registered Gas Fitter, the unit was to be delivered and left 'un-packaged' by the Carriers.

They are not good at delivering on time, by that I mean you book a time and they often turn up early because the driver wants to get home! Also even if you are a regular customer you cannot get a delivery at holiday times, mainly because the able bodied people who dont normally get home deliveries, take up all the booking dates and times well in advance. People who are disabled, like myself, then lose out.

they are usually unreliable due to their drivers rushing from one job to another so they can get finished quicker and get home sooner but the problem with that is that by the time they get to the last delivery or close to the last their arriving early for your delivery
