If you want to risk being stressed out, have lots of sleepless nights, argue with your other half sign a agreement with Anglian. They treat me with contempt and seemed to have no idea on communication. … Read Full Review

Aliyaabbasi's Response to delboy46's Review

Written on: 15/10/2008

delboy46 you have no idea how lucky you are that you cancelled . Our conservatory was started in Oct 07. The floor was curved and the foundations were inadequate. Customer service was often very little or even non existent with often no replies to correspondence. The Glass and Glazing Federation were not helpful either. Due to breach of contract which they demonstrated when their builder did a trial dig revealing foundations of 50cm as opposed to 150cm as advised by their surveyor after a year we have had the basework completely redone and are in the process of having the conservatory reinstalled. I would not wish our experience on my worst enemy.

Written on: 08/02/2008 by bobthebuilderno1 (1 review written)

Booked an appointment for 3pm, the rep arrived 3.45pm. He spent 2 hours going on about the quality of the product and how bad everyone elses was, which was fair enough.
All was fine until the salesman turned rather nasty when we informed him that we wouldn't be signing up straight away and would need time to think about it. At first he ignored it and then used the old 'let me phone my manager to see what i can do'trick to get us to sign on the spot. He refused to accept the fact that we… Read Full Review

I asked for georgian t bar glass to be fitted to patio doors. This was written on the agreement at the salesmen pitch. Installation team did a great job, but they fitted plain glass this i did not want.
I have contacted anglian windows 20 times for them to correct the order for georgian t bar glass to be fitted. they do not want to know… Read Full Review

Written on: 26/11/2007 by JamesBurford (1 review written)

Shocking quality of fitting. Shocking quality of fitting. A 6 inch section of wall about 3 inches deep under the window in the kitchen broke off, and it still hasn't been repaired. One of the windows doesn't close, and Anglian Windows haven't foam filled the areas around the window where they knocked out the old window. I would never use them again or recommend them… Read Full Review

Written on: 11/10/2007 by Gail186 (1 review written)

The windows were fitted in 2003. No real problems with quotation or fitting. However the after sales service is abysmal. The handle has broken on my kitchen window, the next available appointment is in 2 weeks. Despite informing them that the handle was not operating the lock and that my downstairs, front of the house, on a busy road, kitchen window was completely unsecured they were unable to offer any faster service or advice. The Anglian website says "When it comes to windows, security is… Read Full Review

Written on: 02/10/2007 by TrintyUTT (1 review written)

The rep from Anglian Windows arrived at 4pm on Friday and left just before 11pm!
We had to have our dinner in front of him! We have a large bedroom window, 2 small windows (kitchen &: bathroom), and we wanted patio doors! He started on £7,000, then after a long time, and both myself and my partner speaking to the manager, and the salesman calling him constantly, they offered us £1900 after pictures display boards etc!

It has put us of getting anyone else round!!… Read Full Review

Written on: 13/09/2007 by dgrover (1 review written)

We ordered our products in April 2007 for fitting at the end of July. We had to telephone in July to ask when this would be done - our request was greeted with silence, then a date two weeks on was given. The asbestos removal men arrived, only to find that Anglian staff had neglected to order the scaffolding for them to be able to work. After 'a few' telephone calls, the scaffolding arrived later that day (tea time) and the required fitters were able to complete their work the next day. We… Read Full Review

Written on: 30/08/2007 by richhall (4 reviews written)

An appointment was booked by Anglian for a sales rep to call at 10:00 am. At 11:15 the rep turned up. His excuse for arriving late was that he had just come from "bloody East Grinstead". Well, that was more than enough for me! I suggested that he went back to bloody East Grinstead! At the very least a courtesy phone call would have been nice. First impressions do count with me, and if that is an example of Anglian windows first customer contact, then I could not recommend them to anyone. I have… Read Full Review

Written on: 19/08/2007 by WullieD20 (4 reviews written)

I agree with a number of the comments raised in other reviews about Anglian Windows. I have had communications ignored, but have still been threatened with a voided guarantee and interest on the balance owed, when I still await a satisfactory outcome to my work. They should have refunded my deposit when requested, as a result of no surveyor turning up within the stipulated time frame. There was numerous areas of re-work to be done, and Anglian couldn't survive without the help of silicon… Read Full Review

Pb1's Response to WullieD20's Review

Written on: 06/09/2007

We are 8 years down the line, and it has still not been finished 100% fault free. The latest problem of failed units (8 to be precise) has taken a year to address, after two faxes last year were ignored, and yesterday they came with the wrong units, despite faxing a diagram and clearly marking the problems back in April this year.

Anglian Windows may be big, and they may have several satisfied customers, but after spending more than £20,000 in 1999/2000, if they can't put things right for us, then there isn't much hope for anyone.

Compensation? To date they offered £350.00 for taking up-to about 6 weeks off work or more in total for their numerous failed appointments, changed dates and incorrect units. I have refused and will take it further at some point. I have so far about 7 - 8 pages documented in case any lawyer wishes to take on a case for compensation. The whole roof design should not have been done, and another company has advised that the roof design is guaranteed to have problems forever!!!! A replacement designed roof is about £5000.

“Agreed sale January 2006 on finance, to be installed...”

Written on: 17/04/2007 by xsoggyx (8 reviews written)

Agreed sale January 2006 on finance, to be installed at Easter. In February 2006 I was made redundant and could not cancel the contract. I was advised I could claim as I had protection, but I had not paid anything as nothing was installed. Nobody knew how to advise me, so I left it and said "when I have a job I will contact you again".

June 2006 - New job, so I called for installation. In 1 week install was made, with 1 window being different from our plans, and we noticed bad workmanship, to… Read Full Review

Written on: 20/02/2007 by graftonman (1 review written)

When the windows were first installed the finish was a disaster, most of the edges on the frames were rough, sealant was everywhere and plasterwork remained unfinished. After this we complained to Customer services - they sent out a manager who agreed that the work was not up to standard, he also advised that the fitters that completed my job had now been fired - as far as I'm concerned, it is not my problem or should not be to my detriment that they employ poor workman. After this conclusion… Read Full Review

Written on: 15/11/2006 by drmrcgp (1 review written)

We knew that Anglian is a hard-selling company, however we already have several of our windows in our house place by the previous owner and they are absolutely excellent. We explained the sales rep that we wanted to have a quote and cut the nonsense. So we only had a bit of a show where we started with £1600, rapidly down to £1000 for 4 windows. He even made a phone call for the final discount. He was nice and straight forward. I don't understand that if you have good quality windows why you… Read Full Review
