Written on: 27/08/2008

Hinges on the windows started to fall apart. I called Anglian and was advised as they were out of warranty then the call out charge to repair would be £99. Said I would repair myself and ordered 2 sets of hinges at cost of £50.80. After 14 days hinges had not arrived albeit the money had been taken from my account. After I phoned I received them within days. Over a period of years our whole house was fitted with their windows. After the recent developments, we will not be using them… Read Full Review

Written on: 21/08/2008

I don't feel Anglian deserve the general reputation of the trade. As long as you are direct with them in terms of your requirements and expectations they will deliver, if you are not, I think it's your own fault, not theirs.

Would strongly recommend for your peace of mind, just make sure everything is agreed up front and in writing… Read Full Review

Written on: 19/08/2008 by pollyollie (1 review written)

We had our initial conservatory build in 2003 by Anglian. Summer 2006 we had a window board completely split, they replaced that within 2 months.

Around July 2007 we had a roof pane mist up they came out measured it and eventually replaced it after 3months, the engineer then found that another pane had gone since November 2007 we are still waiting for the second roof pane to be replaced, but since then another 3 have gone. Anglian have ordered and lost the panes twice and today was supposed to… Read Full Review

Written on: 29/07/2008 by pacific137 (1 review written)

Salesman from Anglian Home Improvements came to our home in Ayrshire. We spent 3 hours with him. He eventually gave us a price that we accepted. The cost started at £10,200 then went down to £3,900. I feel that the Salesman should have just given us a realistic price to start with instead of what seems to me playing silly games. We gave him a deposit, he left and we have not heard from Anglian again. We did call the Ayr office and they said they would get back to us. We are still… Read Full Review

Written on: 21/07/2008

I was generally happy with the visit from the Anglian Home Improvements salesperson, although I was disappointed that I could not be provided with a copy of the quotation (although I understand this is company policy). I decided to accept a considerably lower offer from Everest.

I received a phone call from the salesperson at Anglian who offered me a price nearly half the original quote. Whilst I understand the system of haggling over prices, I was rather disgusted that the original quote had… Read Full Review

“Windows fitted by Anglian Home Improvements were OK....”

Written on: 16/07/2008

Windows fitted by Anglian Home Improvements were OK. Front door, however, looks cheap (daft plasticky mouldings), and has all the sound insulation quality of a sheet of plywood. Was visited today by installation manager who checked installation was OK, so that's the end of that then I suppose. Our previous door was much better, and I wish we hadnt got rid of it for this piece of rubbish! Thankfully we had decent fitters… Read Full Review

“Was quoted £2200 for a front door only. ”

Written on: 15/06/2008

Was quoted £2200 for a front door only.
After picking my jaw up off the floor, I explained to the sales person that that was over my budget. He dropped the price eventually to just over £1000. I thought the sales person was a bit pushy. Why could I not get that price in the first place… Read Full Review

“I recently had an Anglian Home Improvements...”

Written on: 03/05/2008 by DianeA (1 review written)

I recently had an Anglian Home Improvements conservatory installed. They are now claiming I have a £900 debt with them, and if I do not clear it by Wed 7th May 08, by noon, my guarantee will be cancelled and they will add 2% interest per month to the £900.

The reason I am not paying is because the sales rep advised i would need a wind post in a 3meter fire wall (which building control do not insist on), and it was not installed - we asked the fitters to show is the wind post when the wall was… Read Full Review

“Review of Anglian Home Improvements ”

Written on: 27/04/2008 by Markbowden (2 reviews written)

I would never ever use this company again. Fitting was shoddy, service was poor and overall design was wrong and required an architect and significant remedial works put things right 18 months after installation. No compensation or apology was ever received… Read Full Review

Written on: 11/04/2008 by garjen5 (1 review written)

I must say that when I first read the Anglian reviews I was worried, having just signed a contract for 10 windows and one of our doors, also a conservatory. However, the company rang me to arrange an installation date for the windows and at that I advised them that I do not accept bad workmanship or pay for it.

The fitters arrived and I also politely explained the above to them. From then on it was plain sailing. I gave them tea and coffee all day and they done a very good job in fitting the… Read Full Review

Aliyaabbasi's Response to delboy46's Review

Written on: 15/10/2008

delboy46 you have no idea how lucky you are that you cancelled . Our conservatory was started in Oct 07. The floor was curved and the foundations were inadequate. Customer service was often very little or even non existent with often no replies to correspondence. The Glass and Glazing Federation were not helpful either. Due to breach of contract which they demonstrated when their builder did a trial dig revealing foundations of 50cm as opposed to 150cm as advised by their surveyor after a year we have had the basework completely redone and are in the process of having the conservatory reinstalled. I would not wish our experience on my worst enemy.

Written on: 08/02/2008 by bobthebuilderno1 (1 review written)

Booked an appointment for 3pm, the rep arrived 3.45pm. He spent 2 hours going on about the quality of the product and how bad everyone elses was, which was fair enough.
All was fine until the salesman turned rather nasty when we informed him that we wouldn't be signing up straight away and would need time to think about it. At first he ignored it and then used the old 'let me phone my manager to see what i can do'trick to get us to sign on the spot. He refused to accept the fact that we… Read Full Review

I have contacted anglian windows 20 times for them to correct the order for georgian t bar glass to be fitted. they do not want to know… Read Full Review

Written on: 26/11/2007 by JamesBurford (1 review written)

Shocking quality of fitting. Shocking quality of fitting. A 6 inch section of wall about 3 inches deep under the window in the kitchen broke off, and it still hasn't been repaired. One of the windows doesn't close, and Anglian Windows haven't foam filled the areas around the window where they knocked out the old window. I would never use them again or recommend them… Read Full Review
