This laptop is great value for money, and Dell's follow-up customer service is excellent! Go and get a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop!

It is an excellent value laptop! The 60Gb version is a must for storing loads of photos and films etc. Host of extras included for silly money - more commonly found on more expensive machines.
I have no complaints at all about the Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop.

The laptop has got a very good finish. Screen quality is very good. The speakers are average but what you would expect on a budget laptop. Weight is not bad but there are lighter ones out there.

The look of the Dell Inspiron 1300 is a mix of silver and black. The lid is an entirely silver-grey color, while the rest of the body is black with an accent of silver trim around the keyboard. The look is not bad in this author's opinion, and actually better than the some of the existing Dell Inspiron's available with the silver and white finish. It's certainly not sleek or pretty by any stretch. The front speakers are ugly holes in plastic that look more like vents, and the largish green LED light indicators on the front are reminiscent of a 1980's mainframe computer. So it gets no design awards, but due to the well selected and professional black-silver coloring it's not ugly either.
