Written on: 30/09/2009

Am surprised so many bad reviews on the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette, I loved my pramette! It looks so stylish, very padded and comfy. Quite easy to convert. I never had any problems with the pram mode but a harness for safety would be nice. Basket a bit difficult to access and did get a few holes after a while. The hood is fantastic, pulls almost down to completely cover baby if too sunny. I used it for the first year then bought a lightweight stroller as it is fairly heavy to keep getting… Read Full Review

“Bought this as it converts from pram mode to stroller...”

Written on: 06/08/2009

Bought this as it converts from pram mode to stroller mode. In pram mode, the head dips, which does make it uncomfortable for baby. You need to put a blanket underneath as the straps are bulky. Worst fault in this is that as my daughter got older and was forward facing it became harder and harder to go up steps. From about 12 months I stopped using the Pilko Pramette as I ended up with sore wrists from tilting the buggy to go up steps. I did discuss this with Mamas & Papas and was very… Read Full Review

I recently had to purchase a new pushchair, i owned a maclaren (sp) stroller that was suitable from birth but it lasted for 7 months and the wheel fell off. I tried to contact the manufactors who fobbed me off claiming i had owned it for too long. I bought this Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette p second hand from a friend,it was in fab condition and my little girl loves it. I will definately be buying a mamas and papas puschair for future children… Read Full Review

Written on: 06/07/2009

My 19mth old got her hand stuck in the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette pushchair and had to be freed by paramedics and the fire brigade. If you look at the pliko when it is in pushchair mode there are two holes in the fabric at the rear of the seat and directly underneath are two hollow plastic rectangular pieces which the car seat clips on to. As the harness is not fixed, my daughter simply felt the hole and pushed her hand through the plastic piece and it would not come out. Thanks to the… Read Full Review

I found this review very helpful because...This has just happened to me, my 20 month old son got his hand stuck in the carseat clips whilst we were out shopping, i couldn't get his hand out, it was well stuck, he became very distressed and so did i. my sister-in-law managed to free his hand by wetting his hand with saliva after about 5 mins of trying, we were on the verge of calling the fire brigade. This only happened 2 days ago but i have since got rid of my pliko pushchair as i no longer feel safe with my child in it. I have sent an email to Mamas & papas but after reading other reviews i don't expect to hear anything back.

Written on: 29/05/2009 by hollypop84 (2 reviews written)

I got the polka dot design which looks great. I also love how you can buy a matching bag, foot muff etc. Is easy to steer and adjustable handles mean it fits into my car boot without too much trouble. Once you know how, it is easy to fold but you definately need two hands to do it! My little girl was always secure in the car seat even when she was first born and very tiny. I bought the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette and primo viaggio car seat (to make travel syaytem) for my first baby. I… Read Full Review

I brought my Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette for £250 and feel I could have spent money better elsewhere! In buggy mode it's just stupid! The straps are anchored from babies bum so my little one can move around no problem, which isn't very good when you don't want baby to move!… Read Full Review

Written on: 08/04/2009 by chloedignon (1 review written)

my little girl is nearly five months now and she is still in pram mode. Wouldnt say the Pliko Pramette was a great pram! The basket is an ok size but its a squeeze to fit anything in through the gap. Its a bloody nuisance having to change it back to buggy mode to fold it and when i do this my back wheels fall off!! The pins on both back legs have gone missing. About to send it back to the shop its a waste of money. The raincover is a joke! Dont know why they made half a raincover ? It doesnt… Read Full Review

Written on: 01/04/2009 by fifi08 (1 review written)

I am so dissapointed with mamas and paps pliko pram, I bought it in october 2008. I had always said when I have a baby, I am going to buy a mamas and papas pram. I loved it for the first month and then I noticed that my babies head was starting to slant down when in pram mode, so her legs were higher than her head, I had to put towels over the straps too because you can still feel them when in pram mode (not very comfy for my little angel). When I put it into pushchair mode arghhh she was 5… Read Full Review

Written on: 25/03/2009 by PopsiVicks (1 review written)

I loved my Pliko Pramette while my baby was little. The pramette was great and it was so easy to clip the car seat on to. She is now 16 months and I wish I'd never bought it. The harness is awful! It isn't attached to the back of the pushchair, so getting a wriggly 16m/o in is a nightmare. She ends up sitting on the straps and I have to then prise them out from under her. She also doesn't feel very secure. I called M&P and they told me this is the correct design and perfectly safe. Also because… Read Full Review

Written on: 07/03/2009 by Renee Colina (1 review written)

I have been using the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette for 4months now and love it. I love that it is light weight and folds small. I love that i can see my daughter. I love that it feels strong. My daughter is 4months and 12lbs 9onz and she will still fit in the pram bit faceing me for months. Its great. She looks so snuggled in it. I am not new to prams. I have owned over 40 and (3 children) i also have a stokke xplory a bugaboo frog and a bugaboo bee and i still love this pram so that must… Read Full Review

Written on: 10/01/2009

The Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette is excellent, have had for four and a half years, two kids, well worth the money. In pram mode you have to zip the bottom and top together over the bumper bar then the baby's head will not be lower but higher than feet. This is not poor design but poor usage. There is a loop on my model to attach the five point harness to the back of the pushchair. A five month old should not be sat up at all in a pushchair!!… Read Full Review

We've inherited this pram and despite reading and re-reading the instructions still have a dip in pram mode. The rear seems to rest against the handle you use to fold it but the head end is suspended and therefore dips. Any suggestions?

“I bought the pilko p3 pramette for my 12 week old...”

Written on: 08/01/2009

I bought the pilko p3 pramette for my 12 week old daughter in October 2008. What a mistake I made! after doing a lot of research into the type of pram I wanted I opted for the Pilko as I liked the idea of a lay-flat pram that turned in to a buggy without adding bits here and taking bits off there.
Here ' s what I think is wrong with this pram :
The lay-flat pram I thought I had bought did actually lay-flat, but with baby ' s legs higher then her head!
the whole pram is very rickety and feels… Read Full Review

This is a very true and accurate review i have had all the same problems and more!!

The hood falls off, the footmuff in reclined buggy mode is useless.
The straps will not go small enough the fit over my 7 month old daughters shoulders so rendering them useless.
The thing feels like its gonna fall appart very flimsy construction.
You need 2 hands to fold it in either mode!
Pram mode is uncomfertable the straps under the liner can be felt. My babys head was tilted back and her feet raised!!!!

All in all a waste of money after 7 months use i am going to have to buy something else i just hate the thing!

Written on: 23/11/2008 by mcgehel (1 review written)

i have found Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette extremely flimsy and i would never buy it again i have never successfully managed to fold this pram without a major nightmare. The handles are very wobbly when pushing the pram to the point where i have thought it might actually break when i am out in the street. The back wheels have broken when i was out and i had to purchase an entire new set of back wheels after just 7 months of usage. I found the brakes to seem completely unreliable. The pram is… Read Full Review

I initially liked this pram but it quickly lost it's appeal, most of the joints etc are coming loose and recently a wheel fell off while i was out. I contacted Mamas and Papas to discuss repair and am still awaiting a reply. We have spent over £2000 with them, we won't shop there anymore and have advised our friends to give them a wide berth also… Read Full Review

“I was recommended the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette...”

Written on: 25/10/2008 by cassa95 (1 review written)

I was recommended the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette and as having no experience in prams and buggies as this is my first child, it felt ok so we went ahead and brought it. My baby is very long (born 11lb) so has hardly fitted into the pram mode. I also found it wasn't suitable as it seemed to have a dip in the middle so I ended up putting a moses mattress in it to keep his back straighter. for a while i folded down the flap at the end and let his feet hang over although i had to obviously… Read Full Review

Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette - My daughter is now nearly a year old and I brought this pramette as it had such great reviews. I am really disappointed on how it has lasted. It is now creaking and feels as though its joints are loose, really rickety.

I do do alot of walking as I do not drive but surely for the amount of money this product cost I would expect something that lasts?… Read Full Review

This pushchair is better for me now my son is older (nearly 2) he sleeps really well in it and enjoys the ride! I don't recommend buying this because it turns into a pram in pram mode it didn't seem very comfy, straps could be felt and I found it too roomy for a newborn… Read Full Review

Written on: 10/08/2008 by leighm2008 (1 review written)

I bought this pushchair at the beginning of January 2007 for my daughter who was born at the end of that month. As I purchased this pram online with the car seat to match I was very excited when all the boxes arrived at my mum and dad's house, where my dad built the pram up.

When I first saw the pram I was delighted, but later panicked when I had a go at changing it to a buggy. The harness did not look safe to me at all - in fact I was convinced there was something wrong with it, as on the… Read Full Review
