Written on: 27/10/2010

I bought the Pliko Pramette because it had everything I needed, a pram which would convert into a pushchair when my baby is older, which would last me through to toddler and I wouldn't need to buy another when she's older. How wrong was I! My baby is now 7 months old and cannot fit into the pushchair with a winter coat on. She's not big for her age, and now the weather is turning colder I can't take her out without a jacket on. Her coat isn't excessivly puffy either, but thicker than a… Read Full Review

“Do not waste your money on the Mamas and Papas Pliko...”

Written on: 17/10/2010

Do not waste your money on the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette. When we were buying a pram, like many other people, we were not keen to spend the large amount of money for some of the other brands and the Pliko seemed to have what we were after. It converted from a pram to a push chair without having to buy a separate carry cot, it folded in one piece, it was reasonably light and not a ridiculous price. 11 months down the track we are now going to spend another £200 on a Maclaren. Despite… Read Full Review

Written on: 27/08/2010

The Mamas & Papas pliko pramette is a nice looking pram/pushchair and comes in some lovely designs. It is quick and easy to put up and down and transforms between the various modes easily too. I was keen to have a pushchair that I could use as a pram when baby was small, then a pushchair and also as a travel system with the optional car seat. I chose the pramette as I have seen many people with them so assumed they must be a good investment.

I have been very unimpressed with my pramette and… Read Full Review

Written on: 06/08/2010

Would NEVER EVER recommed this buggy and this company!! First we waited 3-4 weeks after we have ordered it,It arrived just 3 days before baby was born. I called their customer service after I had it first time out, that Im not happy with buggy, because it doesnt have any suspension- baby can feel every stone on the road, it felt wobbly, like its going to fall apart in 1 month. They said to me I cant return buggy because I had it once out!So I kept it.After 4 months of use I got even more angry… Read Full Review

Written on: 05/08/2010

We have been using the pramette for 5 months now and we are quite disappointed.
The few plus points are:
- Very lightweight
- Easy to fold/unfold
- Beautiful fabric and design
But with some serious problems:
- In pram mode the baby's head was very low, we had to add extra mattress to keep it in a proper position
- The baby filled the pram almost immediately, it seems suitable only for very small babies
- It is not to be used to anything else that completely flat and even surfaces, the wheels… Read Full Review

Written on: 01/08/2010 by veraxfilia (1 review written)

I have been using the Mamas and Papas Pliko system for 5 months now and am mostly pleased with it. Its real strengths are that it is lightweight, folds relatively easily and can fit in the boot of a small car (Vauxhall Corsa). I also take this on and off buses easily. The hood, rain cover and foot muff all work fine, and the system is easy to flip from pram to pushchair. It is easy to manage around town and in shops. The lying flat pram was great for when my son was newborn; however, he is a… Read Full Review

Written on: 26/07/2010

The Pliko Pramette has a MAJOR design flaw, there are mountings in the area the child goes to attach the optional car seat. These are fixed whether or not you have the car seat and will drastically restrict space and bruise the baby. There is a small cushioned pad that covers them, but it is insufficient. I spotted this as I was about to buy one, pointed this out to the assistant who said that she was not allowed to highlight this, but seeing as I had spotted it - yes, I was right. She also… Read Full Review

I'm afraid this reviewer is not correct - the mouldings for attaching the car seat can be flipped up (for use) and down (for when the baby is sitting in the pushchair directly Then the cushioning goes over them when they are lying flat. I guess the shop assistant didn't know the product well enough to demonstrate it properly.

Written on: 20/07/2010

I have used the pilko pramette for 3 months now and have just switched to push chair mode. The pram position was great apart from its quite narrow so when my baba arived at 10lb 8oz I found she alraedy filled its width. Because she is now at 15lb and more I find its just too snug so have switched to pushcair mode. What is the point of having straps to fasten your little one in if they don't attach to the back of the seat. My baba can pull herself up, but at just 3 months hasn't got the… Read Full Review

Written on: 28/06/2010

I have been using my Mamas and Papas Pliko pramette for 10 months now, and love it. There are a couple of downsides - the baby cannot face you in pushchair mode, and there is no safety harness when the baby is in the pramette mode - I was always very wary when crossing roads or in crowded places in case the buggy got knocked. The zip for the raincover broke, but this was repaired with no fuss.
However, despite all of these points. I would definatley get a pramette again. It fits into my small… Read Full Review

I love my pliko pramette. With so many negative reviews I felt I had to write my own.
We wanted a lightweight buggy that you didn't need to remove/add any parts to to have pram and bugy modes as we have limited storage space. In pram mode there was plenty of room for my little girl to wiggle around and we never had any complaints from her. She loves buggy mode now she's bigger. The free harness is perfect for her. I can have the back slightly reclined ready for a nap/relax but she can stil sit… Read Full Review

Written on: 28/05/2010

Please no-one buy this pram! IT IS UNSAFE! MY son who is now 3 months old was in this pram when i was on the bus and the bus went around a corner too quick and the pram toppled over and my son FLEW out of the pram towards the other side of the bus. He is now in the hospital and i would not wish it on anyone. Yes part of it is the drivers fault but when buying this pram they DO NOT tell you that when you have it facing you lying down it does not have ANY sort of SAFETY feature or ANYTHING! no… Read Full Review

Written on: 05/05/2010

One of my main problems with this pram is the harness. My son is 20 months old and has been managing to get out of it for a few months, no matter how tight i make it or how much i adjust it. If used with the cosy toes then I could thread the harness theough the holes in it and it would then work like any other harness and not be so bad. However in summer thats just not practical. Also the breaks have been dodgy since purchased. I have had the wheels and breaks replaced more times than I care to… Read Full Review

The harness system is an absolute joke, I doubt the designer has children. I am really cross my child always falls forward and is not properly supported. When she falls asleep in it she is promptly awoken as she falls and hits her head on the front bar. I feel so outraged I will never by from them again and will share this feeling any friends looking at pushchairs… Read Full Review

My daughter would not sleep in the pram mode as her head was lower than her feet which made it uncomfortable for her. This pram only lasted about 3 months for my daughter as the back rest was very narrow and she was too squashed inside the pram. Im very disappointed and the customer service is useless… Read Full Review

Written on: 29/04/2010

Mamas and Papas Pramette Plico 3 I had to write this review as those which I came across are very innacurate and written by people who used the pram for a few months. I had mine for 3 years and 7 months and I am about to buy another one (this time with the switch option) for my second son.
My toddler slept in the pram flat from birth, it was his security place where we nursed him when he was poorly and we took it on holiday where it provided excellent place for him to have a nap on the beach… Read Full Review

Be very wary. They've 'improved' it. We had a a 2004 model and went straight for one for no 2 in 2010. Not the same pushchair at all.

Written on: 23/01/2010

I have had nothing but problems with this pramette. M y daughter is 7months old and looks uncomfortable in the pushchair part. I have had continuous problems with brakes unlocking. The raincover and basket keep ripping. The chassis is very stiff difficult to fold. I could go on for ever. Now the wheels are about to fall off. I have been asked to leave a bus due to the brakes unlocking. Which very annoying and frustrating. Worst buggy ever. The customer service is appaling… Read Full Review

Written on: 18/01/2010

I was extremely dissapointed in the Pliko Pramette from Mamas and Papas. Having researched prams for several months we liked the idea of a light weight pram which converts into a pushchair without having to add or take away various attachments. BIG MISTAKE!
Our son is now 3 months old and is very squashed in the pram mode, with a winter coat or pram suit on he has no more room and what starts as a happy outing ends in tears as he fights to move!
I have also found that his head is lower than… Read Full Review

Written on: 27/12/2009 by mummyof409 (5 reviews written)

I loved the idea of my son lying flat without having to have a separate carrycot which would be hard for me to store and how easy it was to covert to a pram the shopping basket is a good size and is ok to access when in pramette mode. The things i didnt like was the liner isnt padded enough for a newborn baby so i brought a silver cross liner and used that as well also there is no harness to strap baby in when you use the m&p liner which i think is unsafe. The wheels can be hard to push at… Read Full Review

“-Very comfortable in both pram and pushchair modes. ”

Written on: 28/11/2009

-Very comfortable in both pram and pushchair modes.
-Newborn can lie flat even in the pushchair mode. If you don't want it completely flat you can raise it just a bit higher which is again fine!
-Big sun hood that can cover all the baby if you want!
-Tight, safe harness, stops baby from falling.
-Good rain cover, can adjust easily without using its buttons, with zip, it doesn't leave any rain to fall in, fastens nicely at the bottom so no cold air can come in.
-Child can stay soooo warm being… Read Full Review
