Having seen the fantastic deal on line, I completed the online process which was relatively simple and my confirmation emails came through. During the process you are offered various levels of insurance. I selected to protect my excess and include CDW. When I arrived at Alicante airport to collect from FireFly (the actual rental company), they claimed my insurance was not in place and had not been passed on by Atlas! In addition I was informed that I would need to pay a fuel admin charge EVEN WHEN RETURNING THE CAR FULL OF FUEL! I'm sure the language barrier didn't help, but I eventually came to understand that I may be liable for an additional €117! I'm waiting for my credit card statement before contacting Atlas with the latest and complaint. It's never straight forward.

All seemed to be ok until I went to collect my car then lady at the till asked if I wanted to purchase insurance with their company witch was gold car , I was quite surprised and said that I already bought one with atlas Choise it was top package platinum the most expensive aswell.paid extra 50 £ for so called peace of mind... And then the fun has started: First they said they have nothing to do with third party's and not taking any responsibilities if something happens Second I still had to buy their insurance to get the keys or leave deposit other wise no car... So left the deposit didn't want to buy another Iinsurance and pay double for what I thought I already had... Now getting to the point : On my way up to the hotel car started playing up Causing problems just got to the place and it died parked in other hotels car park where wasn't allowed,luckily I speak a bit of Spanish and asked for a help of the manager of my rented apartment to phone up to gold car company and ask for a help and this is where the fun begins: They said that because I didn't buy insurance with them they offered earlier they can't help me even though it was not my problem that I picked up a faulty car they told me I had to pay for recovery and taxi expenses to get it back to the airport and pick up another one!!! The local man was shocked of the service they were offering so was I ,I couldn't believe what they were saying to me!!! Next morning was trying to reach Atlaschoice-" offices closed opens 9:00 am "another attempt in few minutes time after 9:00 am still the same :offices now closed talking to answering machine nice!!! Calling back to gold car in airport arguing a lot and only after that got my free recovery, waiting for more then one hour to come for a car then after its been taken away ,took taxi paid 30€ Went to airport talked to ladies in reception,sorry sorry it's all they could say no refund for taxi neither for a lost day ... so after all no so good experience with this service peace of mind turned out to be a nightmare ...

when i got to milan, there were no car available. They offered me a 10 seats van instead which i had to refuse because of size. Waited one hour before getting a car that was well below what i had booked. No discount was offered in exchange.Very disappointed with the overall experience

I hired through Atlas, and purchased what I thought was full insurance coverage with damage waiver etc. When I picked up the car from Sol Mar I was charged 160 euro's for full coverage. This was not mentioned in any of Atlas' documentation or web site. The car was adequate for our needs over the ten day hire period.

We hired our car at Local Cars, pickup time in the evening. The car had 11 scratches and 2 at the front bumper. When we returned the car the man said that there was a new scratch on the bumper, not the one marked on the form. We had to pay 120 euro for it, without any bill.

I rented a car in Tenerife for a week through AtlasChoice for about £80, including the excess refund product. It ended up costing me another €150 including a mysterious €20 mandatory "service fee", and a €130 additional insurance product that the staff forced me to buy after the credit card failed twice - the manual payment worked perfectly and I was told later by my bank that there was no denied transaction, but the employee waited after I reluctantly accepted to pay the extra insurance to suggest that. Even worse, when I had said I didn't want the additional insurance because I had already bought another one through AtlasChoice I was insulted and told I did not read or understand the condition. I don't recommend them unless they change their choice of partners, and be prepared to face hidden costs that are not advertised by AtlasChoice at the time of booking.

The representative in Bordeaux for goldcars was hugely aggressive. Very full on about goldcar insurance being vital, refusing to acknowledge I'd already paid excess with Atlas, telling me multiple times how expensive it would be, put €1176 against my cc and informed me I'd possibly receive this is 14 days. Also took an extra 19.99 euros for flexible fuel insiting I'd selected this with Atlas choice but still needed to pay? Went to car to inspect it had a run flat 80km maximum tyre on it. Returned to kiosk for change of vehicles, started again about insurance at this stage I felt worn down and had already lost what felt like hours. Flexible fuel unavailable on next car, but amount hasn't been refunded and a further €77 euros was put against my CC for fuel. Horrible experience, awful service, huge extra costs. Should have used a reputable supplier from the outset with all costs inclusive.

On picking up the car Fiefly charged an additional approximately 25 Euro service charge and adopted a full to empty policy meaning that I was charged in advance for a full tank of fuel with no refund for any remaining fuel left once the car was returned - as this was a short rental I only used 1/3 of the tank, so this also significantly increased the cost. These charges were not made clear to me at the time of booking even though I read the small print. In fact the hire was advertised as a full to partial refund policy.

The car was new but was not cleaned inside before the rental. I ordered a car with full/full option but I received a car with no fuel. In the order I was informed that the winter package is included in the pice but the car was not prepared for the winter and did not have winter tires. Generally very bad experience with the renting company compering to other companies on the market.

car's horn was not working. they gave me headache while swapping the car. i was charged for the deposit. they have not informed me that it's not a pre-authorization. They advertise fiesta-petrol : they told me that they never had this car. it's not about availability. false advertising

To show a brand new citreon c1 and to then collect a "perodua viva" (never heard of the make) which was so old, I don't know how it survived 2 weeks. It didn't even have power steering :( Did you advertise this, no! The rental company had no replacements, so we had to struggle with our concern for our safety and life on the maurtian mountain trails in the pouring rain in this so called car. The rental company were pleasant, it wasn't their fault as I booked with Atlas.

I payed double the price that i booked: (fees and surcharges, counter product, and a second inssurance cause yours will take more than month to cover an accident) although i call Atlas from there and asked them to cancel the 1st inssurance but they didnt. So i payed for 2 inssurance; Atlas and Avis.

The car was good. The pick up was protracted due to lack of staff. The drop-off was horrendous, when at 4.30 a.m. I was told by the manager that he would not accept the car until such time as it had fuel reading of full. He would not accept a payment of 20 Euros for what turned out to be 5 Euros - worth of petrol, and told me to get the car filled up before he would accept it. Thank you for a great experience of Cypriot hospitality. Never again.

For a holiday in Greece with rented a car via Atlas Choice. During the booking process we selected to collect the car at the airport, however upon arrival at the airport there was no office of the car rental company nor a representative of the rental company standing with our name. A simple call to the company and a 45min wait eventually led to car being delivered to the terminal. The rental car, a 6 year old under-powered Fiat Punto was in a poor condition, with 140k km on the counter and several faults, including poor tyres and malfunctioning seat belt safety lights. (in fact the wires were stripped from the front seats, leading to electrical problems.) The redelivery at the Athens airport was prompt and the only positive about the entire experience. I guess you get what you pay for...Low price paid for a rubbish car.

Atlaschoice had good prices and a decent website but Thrifty car hire while polite, was totally unhelpful. I sent emails prior to picking up the rental and while Atlaschoice responded, Thrifty knew nothing of my requests upon arrival. Clearly that is unacceptable. Concerning the car, it is not possible to describe it without swearing - best to say it is a complete pile of rubbish. The car was a Datsun Go. While it's engine was punchy and the aircon decent, the car itself is just plain rubbish. The car I was given smelt disgusting and was bashed up so much on the exterior covered in dents and rust! One rear wheel was smooth and down to the canvas in some areas, clearly not roadworthy and the windscreen wiper had clearly not been changed in ages. This was very dangerous given that there was a fair amount of rain during my two weeks rental. The wheel alignment was so bad it was difficult to keep the car on the road, it pulled so hard to one side. The shuddering in the steering wheel suggested wheel balancing needed to be done too but given the quality of the car, it may just have been falling apart. I will never drive one of those cars again and given the fact it came through that car rental company, I'd be really reluctant to use them again. They were absolutely unwilling to help however they were polite.

Green motion car hire was off site from the airport and collection was advertised as being within 5 mins of phoning. I phoned the number and 'eventually' got through. We was told to wait outside and we would be collected in 15mins, however there were others to be collected. After waiting 15mins the minibus pulled up. My husband and I approached the driver only to be told that we had to wait to see if others would turn up. A party of four were allowed onto the minibus before we were allowed on. Then a lone female turned up. We thereafter left for the office, a 5 minute drive away. At the office, the group of four, then the lone female were served before us. The driver of the minibus was also the admin worker at the office. Obviously a one person operation. Eventually our rental was processed, a full hour after contacting the car hire company. I had specifically hired the vehicle on a 'full to full' policy, but was advised that there was only a half tank of diesel and I should return it half full. i advised that this was not what I agreed to only to be dismissed. The location of the off site car hire rental was not easy to find. In future I will pay extra to find a rental agent at the airport, which would be more convenient for return and perhaps a better standard of service. Avoid Green motion.

I consider myself as a regular car hire customer in different countries. My experience in Milan was the worst I ever had. I was charged additional €25 as refuelling duty which I wasn't aware when hiring, the member of staff was unable to explain why. Misleading, trying to sell me additional insurance even though I already had one. On car collection I was given the key with pre-filled check list, on car inspection I found a big dent and significant scratch which were not indicated on the list. I felt as somebody was trying to defraud me. Very unhelpful when trying to extend the contract. I would not recommend car hire from Milan Malpensa airport.

Gold Car's desk was centrally located and easy to find. A ticket system provided a fair and orderly priority of service but still necessitated a wait of 35 mins. The clerk was friendly and attentive initially, but then told me I only had third party insurance, I told him that I had taken all necessary insurance with yourselves, but he still tried quite aggressively to sell me additional insurance, saying that I really needed it and that your insurance was not adequate. I was also charged a " fuel administration charge" of 25 euros, no mention of this as far as I can remember in my contract with you. We then went to the car park to collect the vehicle, which was parked in an unlit area. With the aid of a LED torch we inspected the vehicle. In addition to a large dint in the boot which was marked on the paperwork, there was a large dint in the front valance and bonnet and a crease over the the rear offside wheel arch, none of which was marked on the paperwork. I returned to the kiosk and asked the gentleman to come and see this unregistered damage, he refused and said I must bring the car to him. I explained that if I did I could be accused of causing the damage, but in the end was left with no other choice,than so to do. Another dissatisfied customer was having the very same argument with one of his colleagues, albeit somewhat more vocally.The additional damage was recorded and further paperwork issued, with no explanation or apology. This oversight on their part would have cost me 1100 euros. Upon returning the vehicle I asked that it be inspected in my presence and signed off, as is normal practice, the gentleman ignored me completely and walked away. Apart from the inefficiency of the vehicle check, the complete lack of customer care was appalling. I use car hire on mainland Europe at least twice a year and have done so for the last twenty years, the whole experience with GoldCar was the worst I have ever had and as your partner reflects badly on you. I invite your comments.

Very similar experience to what I had. Very antogonistic and arrogant customer service, so difficult to find them within the airport grounds, there is no transport to their rental site, to be avoided at all costs!
