had no problems with this car hire company, only recommendation would be to get a good road map before hand if going further afield as they didn't have a very detailed one to give out and roads are a bit manic round Malaga! Staff good and all went smoothly. would recommend. As makes for a good start and end to a holiday.

Having read the previous reviews I thought I would take a chance as they were considerably cheaper than the Nationals. Booking and pick up very easy and efficient. No hidden extra's! Don't be put off by having to take a very short courtesy van ride to their depot (300m). Only critism is that the Ford Cmax I rented had 49k on the clock and had been well used. Having said that I would use them again.

Chose malagacar.com based on price and reviews, although with some uncertainty as had never used them before. Booked online with no problems - nothing to pay upfront. On arrival at Malaga, identified the company's rep with no difficulty. He directed us to the shuttle bus pick up point a few minutes walk away. Quite a few people waiting, so there was no room on the first bus, but we only had to wait a few minutes for another. Short trip to the garage, where we were dropped outside. Again there were a few people waiting to be dealt with, but no major delays. Paperwork completed with no difficulty and the car was outside the door - a Seat with 8000km on the clock. No rear parcel shelf, but one was provided from another car (albeit with broken fixings). Tank half full and to be returned empty. Covered about 1400km in two weeks with no problems. On return, drove into the garage, handed over the keys, left the car and caught the shuttle back to the aiport. No paperwork, no checks. Unable to award 5 stars due to the broken parcel shelf and the policy of returning with an empty tank - a bit tense on the dive back to the airport! Going back in February and will use them again.

After reading through all of the car hire reviews I used Malagacar.com, The service was very straight forward, gentleman waiting for you in arrivals, then a 2 min trip in a Malagacar bus from outside the airport. They were quick, the car we rented was a Seat, which was clean and had half a tank of petrol (costs 40 euros/return empty).
I would recommend Malagacar.com, and if ever in the area will use them again.

As well as being good value, I want to comment about their good cutsomer service when (1) our car broke down and (2) in the light of the recent air travel disruption.

The first car we got had engine failure after 4 days - not a great advertisement I suppose, but I think it was just one of those things. Next time I will just make sure I don't accept an Opel Astra! When we broke down, as well as collecting the car they arranged for a taxi which took my family back to our apartment before taking me to the malagacar offices where I was given a replacement car (new SEAT Leon) immediately.

Secondly, they extended our car hire quickly and simply over the phone when we were impacted by the volcanic ash and had to stay in Spain for another 6 days.

Finally they opened up early when we did fly back and there was a minibus waiting when we returned the car, to take us to the airport early to check in.

I would recommend Malagacar - we will certainly use them again.

HIRED CAR FOR 3 DAYS FRIDAY TILL SUNDAY IN MARCH 2010. WE ARRIVED LATE TO MALAGA AIRPORT DUE TO PLANE DELAY. WE FOUND THE REPRESENTATIVE FOR MALAGACAR.COM, THEY WEAR A UNIFORM WITH A LOGO OF THE COMPANY. WE WERE TAKEN TO THERE DEPOT WHICH WAS A FEW MINUTES AWAY. WE GAVE OUR PASSPRT AND LICENCES AS WE WERE A GROUP OF FRIENDS,COPYS WERE MADE. WE WERE ASKED IF WE WANTED THE EXTRA INSURANCE WHICH WE TOOK, IT IS WELL WORTH IT AS ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. WE HIRED A FOCUS AUTO AND WHERE CHARGED 25 EUROS FOR THE FUEL AND WE PAID FOR EVERYTHING IN CASH AND ONLY GAVE CREDIT CARD AS SECURITY,WE WERE TOLD IF THE TYRES OR RIMS GET DAMAGED WE HAVE TO REPAIR IT AND THEY WILL GIVE THE MONEY BACK WHEN WE RETURN THE CAR, LUCKLY NOTHING LIKE THAT HAPPENED.THE KEYS AND PAPER WORK WERE GIVEN TO US AND OFF WE WENT.

WE CHECKED THE CAR OVER,IT HAD A FEW DENTS NOTHING MAJOR BUT WAS TOLD AS WE HAD FULL INSURANCE IT DIDNT MATTER. AN AUTO IS A BETTER CAR TO HAVE AS IT SAVES CHANGING GEARS,GIVING MORE TIME TO CONCENTRATE ON DRIVING.

WHEN WE RETURNED THE CAR THE MILEAGE WAS NOTED AND WE WERE TAKEN BACK TO THE AIRPORT WITHIN 10 MINUTES IN A MINIBUS.

ONLY DOWNSIDE IS THEY SHOULD REALLY GIVE YOU A SHEET MARKED WITH THE DAMAGE WHEN YOU TAKE THE CAR OUT AND ONE WHEN YOU RETURN IT. MAYBE AM USED TO THE WAY WE DO THINGS HERE IN THE UK. I RECIEVED A EMAIL FROM THEM THE NEXT DAY STATING THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND THANK YOU FOR HIRING FROM US, THEY SHOULD REALLY GIVE YOU THAT WHEN YOUR THERE INCASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG WHILE THEY CHECK THE CAR AFTER YOU HAVE GONE TO THE AIRPORT AND THEY CHARGE YOUR CARD, CANT REALLY DO MUCH IF YOUR IN THE UK AND YOU GET THE EMAIL THE NEXT DAY.
OVERALL A GOOD COMPANY AND WOULD HIRE AGAIN. HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS YOU.

We own a property in Spain have used several car hire companies but for last few years we have only used malaga cars,they offer a great meet and greet service,provide a mini-bus to collect you from airport and take you to their depot which is just outside the airport so you don;t have the hassle of getiing out of airport car-park,very competitive with prices, what more can i say......
