I applied nearly 3 weeks ago for an FLM Loan and it took three phone calls and three seperate applications before the forms finally came through. I immediately sent them back next day and now 2 weeks later, not a murmur, call or any indication of whats happening. I have called numerous times to be told there is a backlog and whilst 'we pay out within 24 hours', it will be over 7 days before your form is even looked at then there could be a further 48 hours before contact. Only then will you get it within 24 hours. If you want a loan that requires an additional name to get it, get them to get a loan elsewhere on your behalf, and if credit rebuilding is your goal, use a prepaid credit card, the repayments do the same for 200% cheaper.

Well today, I got a guarantore and sent off my forms that they asked for in the letter they sent me. I have just read something on there website and its says on there that you have to send as well as your guarantors bank statements, your own! But on the letter it doesent say nothing about your bank statements!
So now I'm just playing the waiting game and hopeing like mad that my money is in my account by next friday!

If you are thinking of getting a loan with FLM loans. I warn you, beware of this company.

In February 2007 I paid advantage loans Broker £50. for a loan and they set up the application with FLM loans for the sum of
£3000. ( All af them belongs to the same company called The
Richmond Group). At first everything went well I read and sign up the application then they ask me for a guarantor that is also a home owner so one of my relatives stand as my guarantor.

It all started to go wrong when they decided not to deposit the
loan to my bank account they deposited it to my guarrantors
account then my guarrantor had to transfer it to me.

As the repayments started in March all the payments were made and even if i was a bit late with a couple of them it was covered by my guarrantor.

In August and November all hell broke loose. I ended up in 2
unfortunate situations that damaged my credit and I couldnt
continue to work at my job so I continued to use my skills to be
self employed. Things was bad in December and I didnt had any money to pay the December installment and my guarrantor would of make the payment but it will be a bit late. Flm loans started to send threatening texts to our mobile phones. I called the customer service (they are a pain in the butt to get in contact with) to explain that we will be a bit late with the payment and the advisor was very hostile & threatening us to take legal action but my guarrantor & I sort out the payment.

I normally had a direct debit with FLM through Abbey national
bank. but due to my salary not arriving on time they keep
attempting to take the payment over & over & it always trigger
alot of nasty bank charges which lead my account into arrears
wich lead to my bank account to be closed down. Seeing how bad they are wrecking my financial life, I began calling to pay the
installments manually with my debit card from my new Natwest
account but I NEVER authorised them to automatically take
monthly payments from my debit card. When I pay with the card it is usually showed as flm loans on my bank statment.

Recently the installment was due on the 12th May 2008. and my
income came in after the due date. It makes no sense calling to
inform them because they will get hostile and threaten me.They
send threatening texts to my guarrantor. My guarrantor is in a
financial situation and cannot cover the payment. Part of my
income arrived so I was keeping part of it unil the rest of the
income arrives to pay flm loans the full installment because I had a bad experience when one week i had part of the money to pay them, so I call and offer to pay it until i got the balance to pay it off the following week & they treaten me in a hostile manner just for making an attempt to pay the installment in two parts.

This time FLM loans went too far. On the 17th May 2008 my
income was drained from my new bank account. This nearly put
me and my wife in stress as we were on our way travelling to
London knowing that our travelling funds was in my bank account to find out it was gone. This spoiled our travelling as we almost got stranded in London we called the bank and the bank could not identified who drained my account. On the 19th May a company by the name of post net appeared on my internet bank statment and they are the ones who drained my bank account. On the 20th of May I went into my bank and I reported it. The bank investigated it & found out that FLM Loans was behind this.

A while after Flm called me to threaten me and boy i didn't back
down I put them in their place & they were rude to threaten me
saying all my money in my bank account belongs to them once am paying them installments This is how hostile the customer
threatening advisors get.

One thing I learn is that I will not allow The desperation need for
money or horrible companies like FLM loans wreck my financial life.If you are taking a loan from them to make an investment to generate a profit of income you stand a better chence but if you are taking the loan for personal use and desires or to pay off other bills, then i would advise you to beware.

I applied online with FLM directly towards the end of January, and whilst there was an initial delay in receiving the paperwork when 3 envelopes turned up in quick succession along with a number of other bills, it turned out to be Royal Mails problem!

Forms returned, and loan took about a week to be processed (properly due to high level of applications after Xmas) but paid out within 48hours of underwriter contacting me.

Very happy!!

Everything but the main point is - Now it's March 4th and, apparantly they have a backlog of mail from CHRISTMAS... They also said...

"All of our post is being dealt with in date order. Any applications received after the 13th-14th February are yet to be dealt with, I am therefore unable to confirm if your application has been received.

I am currently unable to advise of a timescale, however once your application is being processed you will be contacted by a caseworker within 48 hours."

I won't hold my breath!!!

written by bevandavis on 05/10/2007

Every application requires a guarantor. If people had a guarantor they could go to the High Street for a loan and pay a reasonable rate of interest. FLM Loans are slow to respond to emails. The best way to get hold of them is to visit the office.

If you have a guarantor, go to the NatWest and ask for a loan. I am not a NatWest customer, but I would advise people to try them first.

written by Hanso on 16/07/2006

FLM Loans accepted my application when no-one else would. Having been bankrupt previously, I have been turned down absolutely everywhere, but FLM Loans were happy to accept me.

It did take over a week to get paid out as they needed to see a full months bank statements, but i received a great personal service, and they are definitely worth a try if you are being refused elsewhere.

Sounds silly. I applied on Tuesday and that was me just receiving my call tonight my guarantor (my mum) is to get her call tomorrow. I was just wondering does the guarantor get thoroughly screened on credit file, and do they discuss everything with them on there file?

Thanks for answering this question.

Tbh I wouldn't specifically know. However, by simply putting 'RTS - person not at this address' on the unopened mail and sticking it back in a post box, may be enough to stop them. If they persist phone Amigo and complain or email a complaint to them. Phoning would be best though I would advise.

Just return them to Amigo, by writing 'Return to Sender - Unknown at this address'. The return address is normally on the reverse of the envelope. No need to add a stamp either, Amigo pick up the bill.
