THE ORIGINAL QUOTE WILL PROBERLY BE £20,000 THEN DROPPED TO £4,000 IN THE END AFTER A PHONE CALL WITH THE MANAGER! AND WAIT £4000 IS ACTUALLY A FAIR PRICE! NOT!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS BECAUSE THE MANAGER WAS MISSING HIS DAILY TARGET BY £4000 THAT NIGHT SO WHETHER IT WAS A 100K OR 20K KITCHEN YOU WOULD HAVE GOT IT FOR £4K JUST TO MAKE YOU BUY IT!

THE KITCHENS ARE REALLY GOOD QUALITY BUT THEY DO NOT MANUFACTURE ANY OF THERE OWN KITCHENS JUST DONT LISTEN TO THIS RUBBISH, THEY DO NOT EVEN DELIVER THEIR OWN KITCHENS TO YOU, HANG ON THEY DONT EVEN FIT THEIR OWN KITCHENS! ALL OF THEIR KITCHENS COME FROM JJO PLC (GOOGLE THIS) THEY ARE ALL DELIVERED TO THE CUSTOMER BY JJO PLC THEN THEY SUB CONTRACT SOME RANDOM FITTERS PROBERLY FOUND IN THE PHONE BOOK TO FIT YOUR KITCHEN!

Ok, so we had a visit from Space at the end of Feb, the rep took his time, about 3 and a half hours, but as he explained from the off its not something you do in half an hour, so we gave him the time. He was clearly experienced at the job, so when going through the standard presentation, we told him simply we werent interested in finance, or the never ending presentation; luckily he had enough wits about him to stop reading from his sales script and get on with it. Standard sales stuff, about £10,750 down to £6,500, which was a very reasonable price for what we were getting. The design was what we wanted, the technical surveyor, Gary, who followed was fantastic. They delivered within 2 weeks, and had the job done a couple of days after that. Over all they did a good job, its a good quality kitchen, and you get what you pay for.

One point I would like to make though is having read all these reviews, they seem to be disgruntled ex-employees, or worse people who didn't even buy the kitchen that just simply didnt like the sales presentation. If you're not strong enough to have someone sell to you, don't let them in the house.

We got what we wanted, and the few minor problems we came across were solved instantly. As I said, you get what you pay for.

We were looking for a new kitchen and had a look at lots of places B&Q, Homebase, etc ffor showrooms but did not feel that we could afford these as had appointment at Homebase £14000+ quoted. We also tried Space Kitchens and Kitchens Direct for non-showrooms and after problems with Direct made appointment with Space.
I agree with the tactics used, 2 hours of non-kitchen talk and then 2 hours of drawing and discussing our kitchen. Also felt a bit underpressure when told 'now or never' for quote but we agreed.
After going to work and thinking about the quote, both me and my partner thought we couldn't afford original quote so call area manager and cancelled contract then within 24hrs.
He said keep the CAD designer as already paid for and we agreed as we had no obligiation at this point.
Looked at Kitchen and it was exact what we asked for and the price had now been dropped to price could afford, took finance option as we thought pay upfront might end up with no kitchen and they do runner (we had all money anyway).
Booked delivery and installation for two weeks from surveyor date. Was given Project Manager mobile and two days later, he arrived with new contract to sign. We also wanted to amend design, this was done without hassle and now was perfect.
Delivery called day before to state time slot, delivery day they arrived 2 hours early not a problem, actually was big help as had things to do.
Two days later was first installation day, Install department said they will be at 9.30. Installers arrived at 8am, fantastic and they cracked on with it straight away. Worked almost tirelessly til 5.30 we had 1/2 kitchen in with all appliances working.
Day two of installation arrived earlier and again cracked on with it! After two days kitchen in and all done.

I worked at space kitchens, place is a total joke, absoloute p i s s takers, and the BIG BOSS louise talks down to you like a piece of s**t when shes driving about in her big flash car no doubt bought off EVERYONES wages, as she does NOT pay anyone, and comes up with more and more excuses! they are due me over 250 for all the hours i done, but they wont pay up. Could give 3 very good reasons for not to apply for this job.

1- THEY DONT PAY YOU.
2- EVERYONE IS SO BITCHY.
3- THEY LOOK DOWN TO YOU LIKE A PIECE OF S**T.

I received a design visit from Space kitchens only a few days ago. And after reading all these reviews, i am very glad we didn't go ahead.

Our designer arrived at 7:30, and didnt leave until 11:30!!! the only reason i had asked them to come out, was because they were offering 50% off and £1000 worth of appliances if you booked a visit - that then became an old promotion - the website hadn't been updated!!

Our designer gave us several quotes. the first being £14,000, then £8,800, then finally £6,200, each time we said the quote was a little too high, he rang his boss to discuss if we could get any discount!

The original issue we had with our kitchen was the lack of work surface space and storage, so we ideally wanted more cupboards etc, we relayed this back to the designer, and ended up with exactly the same kitchen we have now - no more untis, no more work surface! And he wanted £6,000 odd for it. Obviously we raised this issue, but then he complained that he'd have to redo the design and would be here for another hour, and he had an interview to go to in the morning, as this job was 'S**t' - really filled us with confidence. he then told us, on our original quote he had forgotten to add on the worktops and the handles!!!!! Brilliant, another £1200 added on.

Funnily enough we decided not to go with them as too many things weren't adding up for us. Our designer didn't seem very well trained, ignored everything we asked for, was very pushy and was with us for hours. Surely if they had enough faith in their company, they could leave you to make a diecision and let you get back to them. they obviously don't, and now nor do we!

Space, dont touch with a big stick unless you want to get pestered & abused.

Never written a review before and only after my recent experience with Space Kitchens, wanted to write one. Have always read reviews on everything before purchase and being offered cheap kitchen from company I'd not heard of before was no different.
The reviews here were quite against Space as a company but I was willing to give benefit of the doubt as someone was booked to come and see us anyway and as we were going to be looking at complete kitchen refit in 6-9 months, couldnt hurt to at least get the "designer" in and give us some pointers, bring some brochures etc.
The reviews here on how long you will be with the designer are all true. 7:30pm appointment and he left at gone 10. Took some measurements and gave us some ideas (might need to knock out wall for what we want but as bungalow shouldnt be expensive as not supporting wall). They quoted £16k for building work & kitchen supplied and fitted, which I think was over the top and guy who spent bit of time on phone to his boss while here thought so too as their bespoke builders charged a fortune, but he was obliged to give ball park figure. All was ok so far, we would have think about it and they were to come back with cheaper deal.
Next day the "factory" called and asked how had gone and could they send a factory rep in as they could supply direct cheaper than the "office". I said there was no point measuring up again as we were looking to get building work done first. They said no probs, would call back in 6 months after we spoken with builders.
Next day we got another call which was a guy from the local office seeing how had gone and what did we think of price. Said we were going to get some building work done first and look at kitchen later in the year. He said what were we looking at as a cost? He said that if money was no object and he offered us a rock bottom price of £10k, would we have a deal? I said that as theres extra cost with the building work than just to have the kitchen done, might be 6-9 months before we could likely afford. And thats when he got nasty. Said that I could get a builder out of the phone book, have I seen cowboy builders?, they would do dodgy job and have I got kids? Yes I said. Well I would be putting them at risk and then I could go to B&Q and get myself a cheap ass kitchen that would fall apart in 2 years and I would have wasted all my money etc etc. All very aggresive and quite rude. What he didnt know is that Im selling a propery at the moment that I would be getting Net £60k out of after costs and could easily afford the kitchen and the loft Im going to convert, plus the bathroom. I hung up in the end while he was ranting on about what would happen if I dont buy their kitchen. Believe all that you see written on here and always research everything before you part with your hard earned cash. Theres some dodgy companies out there and Space has just joined them.
Now Im writing to watchdog as believe they did a piece on them couple of years ago and worry about vulnerable people they will get to. I work in sales myself with Forklift trucks and I know sales techniques can get bit pushy. But if I hadnt got my feet firmly on the ground, they would have tried to push me over. Very hard sell and aggressive if you even start to sound like you will say no.
Trust me and say no from the first call asking if youre looking for a kitchen. Less aggro and abuse!

This is now about the 3rd this company has contacted me and they are more forceful telephone SCAMERS who cant even get my surname right and will not take NO for an answer until they SLAM the phone down on you... I DO NOT WANT A SO CALLED FREE KITCHEN nothing is free in this world today and their is always a catch!!!!....All these people on here with positive things to say on here must either WORKING FOR THEM or or been paid to write these comments.

I WOULD NOT TOUCH space kitchens, I was originally quoted 13K for my kitchen and when I refused I was then offered the same kitchen for 5K(Again a one off offer). I stupidly took the offer. 3 weeks after fitting the kitchen they supposidly went into administration. I have yet to receive my 10 year guarantee that they promised and have had some major problems with my kitchen. I have been calling them since 2008 when my kitchen was fitted,I recently got through to them (still trading as space kitchens) and was told that if I agreed to get windows fitted by weatherseal that they would fix the problems I have had. I took out the windows but only part of my kitchen was fixed, and now I'm having problems with them as well. If I have done some research I would not have touched them.

I had someone come round from Space Kitchens a few weeks ago. Apparently it was a one-off offer in my region (since reading the other reviews, I'm not so sure about this!). I don't normally get sucked in by phone sales pitches, but they caught me on a day off work and I'd been wanting a new kitchen for a while, so I thought I'd see what they were offering. A guy came round on the same day and was here for absolutely ages! 4 hours and 2 coffes later his quote was way higher than any other estimates I'd recieved - my kitchen is tiny and they wanted to charge £13k, reduced to £8k if I took advantage of their 'great' offer. I've now just bought a top quality one in the Homebase sale for alot less! The finance Space Kitchens offer is terrible - they want you to pay it off over 8-10 years so they can reap the interest you'll be charged. I have the money to pay for my kitchen without needing finance, but this guy was advising me to take their finance instead of paying the balance in full?! They also put pressure on you to sign there and then else their 'offer' is withdrawn. When I refused, the guy rang his manager, handed me the phone, and I had to listen to this rude individual trying to put more pressure on me. I told them both where to go! Since then, they've rung me at least 10 times. Not impressed. My advice - avoid them!!

The salesman was here for about 5 hours, I could feel my life ebbing away, and lost the energy to even kick him out. I'm disabled, living alone, and generally classed as 'vulnerable'. On top of everything, I had just had floods which destroyed my living room, and the salesman sat there with me on a small stool (sofas waterdamaged), on a still-wet carpet, with a ceiling which was falling in piece by piece, and no heating or hot water (in January!). He was pressurising me to spend my insurance money on a kitchen instead of the building repair work.

When I made it clear I would do no such thing, he pressurised me to take out the crazy finance! He wouldn't just give me a straight answer as to what the APR was, just went on about what the monthly payments would be!

When it got to the bit where he rings his 'manager', I was still refusing. The manager tried every tactic under the sun, laying on the emotional blackmail, trying to make ME feel guilty for not signing up there and then.

He joked and said 'what if I offered it for 3 grand?'... I said 'nope, I just don't have the money right now' and his reply was incredulous... 'what, you wouldn't even go for it for that price, how stupid are you?'...

Well, not stupid enough to sign up for a Space Kitchen thank god.

What a truly awful company. Seriously, if you're reading this and thinking about it, or if you've had a rep in and he seems a really nice person, just start disagreeing, talking about other quotes you are going to get, and refuse to sign up on the day - they soon show their true colours, and they are nasty, desperate and unscrupulous! Having just purchased double-glazing, and been through the same old nonsense with that, I can honestly say that Space were about 1000 times worse than ANY of the double glazing companies I got quotes from!

Very nice designer. and although the appointment took a while it was very worth while as i got an extremely good deal.
My kitchen has been fitted and i am very very happy with it.
Overall very pleased dispite all that i have a read i would happily use them again.

can someone pls tell me i have space kitchens coming at 3.30 today! will they be here hours and i have told them i cannot afford a new kitchen but on the phone were very keen on coming even though i told them i cannot afford one! help... what should i do?

I had space kitchens round my house and yes the sales guy was with us for around 3.5 hours. Within that time he gave me the benifits of using space kitchens. He showed me the doors that i was interested in and even had a small unit to show me of which i was impressed as for something clearly smaller than a normall size unit it was very heavy. So i thought the time he spent with me was a worth while one as if someone took an hour i would think that the care and attenrion was not there. I have since had my kitchen fitted and had one small problem which was rectified within a week of my phone call. Overall i was impressed. People only normally ever write bad reviews so i thought i would write about my experience. Thanks Space and well done.

I was contacted by Space Kitchen's for a free quote on my kitchen.I have been looking at updating my poor battered kitchen for a number of years,i just couldn't work out how i could afford one.

After a breakup from my husband i knew i had a problem with my credit rating.Space came along , designed my new kitchen , i so loved the idea of my Cream Cologne Doors and especially my Glitter worktops .( yes i wanted to wake up to sparkle). Fingers crossed as the woman told me they would try and help with the Finance.

Now im here awaiting delivery and guess what ? i get my first year free.
I was asked by Space to add my review onto here and welcomed the oppertunity .I can't wait to see the end result and hey with all the help i have recieved so far i shall look forward to updating this review.

I am so annoyed at the reviews written, i thought it was my turn to speak up for Space Kitchens.
Not only do i own a stunning new kitchen , i get paid 5% everytime someone ces to look at my kitchen and buys one.I have now recieved £2110 up to now and love having spectators.
The kitchen cost me £7320 ,the qoutes from 5 other companies were all more without the fitting and my simply lovely new cooker.( self cleaning).Wonderful.

So all you people out there reading these reviews , i hope you read mine and give the company a chance.

I made the mistake of joining Space Kitchens when I was out of work, a lot of hype is made of how much you can earn if you put in the hours, which seemed fair enough. However I became disillusioned to see how customers were viewed. A sales pitch is driller into you and you are expected to do whatever it takes to get people to sign on the night. BFR stands for 'bit for me' £2000 extra added to an order, to help get a salesman to earn more profit. Then when the exorbitant price is presented to the customer, the salesman usually says he may be able to get a special price from his manager. The manager will badger the customers further and by this time the sales person will have been in their home for 4 hours. The manager will be prepared to drop the overall price 50% or more to get a sale which tells you something of the quality and the initial con to get you to sign for the initial price. I was disgusted by the practices they use, my manager told me to put dogs muck through the letterbox of one customer who wasn't in when I called (I didn't of course, but others would). Avoid these like the plague, if they phone, tell them you rent the property and they will leave you alone, otherwise they just hastle you, but stay well away.

Organised a Space Kitchen Designer to come to our house to give us a quote and made it clear when they phoned us that we were not interested in signing for one at this moment in time but just wanted ideas. Salesman was okay not really that pushy as others have said but did stay for 3 1/4 hours before leaving and offering us a discount. The most awful thing though was that he parked on our neighbours lawn thinking it was a layby!! and the tyres have dug it up. We have been in this house for nearly 3 years and noone has done this before so god knows what he was thinking!! If you organise a designer from Space Kitchen to go to your house make sure they come on the bus!!!

DO NOT EVEN ENTERTAIN THESE COWBOYS!!!!
Had my kitchen fitted over 12months ago and made the mistake of paying up front was told they were real wood doors and they were mdf but the biggest problem is the fitting they use right cowboys all the joins are [poor on the surface the kickboards are out of line and fall off and some muppet siliconed the splashbacks with the cellophane still on so they all fell off!!!.
On the whole tho the biggest point is you cant get them back out to fix it over 12months and still not right they just keep passing you on to someone else.
Best bet stay well away from these guys just read reviews all over the place there shambolic.

I didn't buy anything from them, but they cold-called me, asked if I was the home owner, and then just hung up on me! Outrageously rude. I would never under any circumstances consider buying from such an obvious set of shysters. They seem to be called both Space Designs and Space Kitchens, so watch out for them.
