Sent a chair which was not as described (did not tilt) then when I sent it back told me I had to pay a restocking fee of £26. Customer service non existent. Would NOT buy from these EVER - buy at your peril.

“Do not use this company”

We ordered 14k of office furniture that we needed by a specific date, which they said would be no problem. Then told us on the day of delivery that it was not coming, after fighting for a few days we had some of the furniture, but still waiting for benches, stools and lockers. We are now four months later, they ignore any request for a refund via email or calls, and when you do finally get through to someone they just say a refund is coming and nothing happens. We have now decided to take county court action but of course they are based in Scotland, so different laws and different ways of doing it. If this company is still in business soon i will be amazed, they have the worst service ever, and they hide away when things go wrong. Seriously i would suggest you look at other companies as you will be let down.

“Absolutely appalling ”

Avoid this company at all costs. Diabolical customer service, never return calls, fob you off and refused to refund the money I paid them to assemble my desk after initially telling me I would be refunded and getting compensation. Really arrogant customer service manager. Horrible experience. Wish I'd read the reviews first.

Ordered 48 lockers in May 2021, was promised the earth by the sales person but my goodness they fell way short on after sales support. The lockers were for our London office and we stipulated that we would need at least a couple of days notice so we can arrange someone to take in the lockers when they were delivered. We never heard another thing - no email response, no phone call nothing. I had to chase 12 times hanging on the phone with them giving the same answer. we will look into this and call you back by lunchtime..... Still waiting for a call back after calling them 12 times!!! I had a phone call this morning at 7.30am to inform me that they were at the London office and could someone take delivery. Yes you guessed it, no communication to say they were being delivered and they stated that they only deliver between 8.30am - 5.30pm so an hour early anyhow! this company take your money and leave you hanging ... i will recomment that you stear clear of Furniture@work at all costs !

“Shocking service ”

Appalling company avoid at all costs and DO NOT USE!!! Office chair received with manufacturing faults. The actual chair for the cost had very poor castors too, so very hard to manoeuvre. Said they would send a replacement arm, nothing arrived so I decided to return faulty chair. Then ended up in middle of row between manufacturers and Furniture at Work as to the payment of the collection charge. Collection eventually sorted after umpteen phone calls. Still waiting for my refund months later after original issue advised to Furniture at work. Their customer service skills are non existent!! :( very very not happy :( I am so upset this is the first company I have ever left a bad review for :(

Ordered items for next day delivery, which didn't arrive. Furniture At Work did not respond to emails and web messages querying the order, did not provide refund after several months. Issued a chargeback with credit card provider, who investigated and provided a refund to me after getting no response from Furniture At Work. Was sent threatening emails and fake invoices monthly from a debt collection department. They ignored all responses and continued harassing for money for a null order. Do not hand over your money!

“Dreadful Company”

Be aware that if you order from this company, there will be only three outcomes : 1. The goods won't arrive and you'll be left chasing a refund. 2. The goods arrive AFTER the specified date and are faulty. 3. You WILL end up in a battle to get your money back. There is no outcome other than these ^^^. Be warned.

“SHOP ELSEWHERE - BAD, BAD COMPANY”

AVOID AT ALL COSTS & SHOP ELSEWHERE. I wish I had. Abysmal. Hands down the worst company I have ever made the mistake of handing money over to. Poor products, appallingly non-existent customer service, entirely indifferent to customer experience or feedback. Purchased a chair for home-working. Paid for express delivery. Chair delivered almost 2wks beyond expected express delivery date & well beyond their own time frames for standard delivery. No communication to advise me of this. Had to chase for update - even then it was as though they were doing me a favour. Chair delivered finally, tried to assemble it a few days later. Screw hole in seat was defective, so chair cannot be used as seat is not secure. Tried several time to call, on hold each time 45 mins plus. No callbacks despite using call back service. Took photos of issue including close-up, explaining problem and emailed to customer services requesting assistance. Almost 3 wks on and no acknowledgement, let alone response. Re-sent, asking for escalation to directors and chief executive. Still radio silence. Astounding that in these hard times, there are businesses that are so entirely lacking in astuteness or care for your service. I deeply regret bothering with this bunch. I've paid over £80 for a defective chair which is unsafe to use, as well as express delivery charges (said service was never met so this charge as a minimum should have been refunded to me) and have received not an ounce of courtesy despite several emails flagging up the problem. Resorted to posting a message requesting contact on their facebook page only to later discover they had changed their settings to prevent people from commenting. How pathetic! Clearly this is a common issue for them. I'm amazed this company is still in business. At this rate, it won't be long before they go under. With so much competition, why shop with them? The problem with their disregard is that they overlook the old adage - you get good service, you tell a friend or two. You get bad service, you tell everyone you know. This shoddy outfit falls well and truly into the latter category. I will share my experience with everyone I know to ensure they don't spend a penny with the shambles that is Furniture At Work!

Worse furniture company ever! We purchased 14 no. modular seating units which was advertised as grey bonded leather on their website for a healthcare project. Ended up being in fabric! Had to remove them and purchase new wipeable seating from a different company. Furniture@work promised to collect their seating from our warehouse and refund us. Never happened. It has cost us £2.5k so far to rectify this and they stopped responding to us in March 2020. Reading all the reviews here, I cannot understand why they are still running???

“The worst experience you could ever have!”

The worst supplier experience you will ever have! Ordered a large amount of furniture of which only a few items were delivered only to be told after the remainder was out of stock. From that point this company ceased communication to the point we had to initiate a chargeback weeks later in order to get our money back for the items not delivered. After the chargeback was complete the company started sending us emails from their debt collection department claiming we owe them money for items already refunded and never received. Persistent bunch! Do not waste your time (and sanity) dealing with them!

“Absoute Disgrace - AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

Abosolutely uselss, I ordered a desk and a chair at the end of May. The chair arrived x5 days after I had cancelled the order as they told me it was going to take x8 weeks. I have still not received the desk which they said would be delivered on 26/06/20, this was despite the fact that they confirmed the delivery date on 25/06/20. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to them on the telephone, I have sent them somewhere between x7-x10 e-mails and they have not replied to any of them since the delivery confirmation. They took my money x8 weeks ago. I think the only option left for me is to report them to the authorities.

“Cannot fulfill orders - best to avoid”

Elements of the numerous other bad reviews are echoed in my experience i.e. significant delays in delivery, inability to contact customer service, no responses from the company to emails/voicemails/online contact forms, no proactive and certainly no honest communication of what is actually going on. The truth seems to be that despite the messaging on the website, there is little/no stock availability, you won’t get your item assembled and you will struggle getting all or partial refunds if you are not willing to wait for the delayed item. I want to give the person I dealt with in customer service some positive feedback though as he was the only person who offered a life-line and seemed genuinely apologetic. Nevertheless, I suspect his hands are tied and I will never see the partial refund that was promised. All in all a very stressful, time-consuming experience and I am left feeling very disappointed. I also feel very sad for all the other hundreds/thousands of customers in the same position who are suffering with no information and no signs of a positive outcome. I would recommend that you shop elsewhere using a company with more integrity and honesty. My experience: • Order placed for Cream Skye Executive Chair on 29th May with Furniture at Work. £86+VAT for item. Plus £20+VAT for assembly. Delivery expected in two weeks. • Two weeks later, email received from Furniture at Work Customer Service to indicate a delay and that the new delivery date would be Friday 26th June. Telephoned Customer Service who confirmed this. • Friday 26th June. Telephoned Customer Service to check that the item was due for delivery today. Told that there was nothing on the system to indicate any delay and that they would check with the warehouse and if any problems I would be telephoned back. No further communication and no item received. • Monday 29th June. Telephoned Customer Service (held for 2*30minutes and then put through to voicemail service), emailed Customer Service, filled in online customer care form. No responses to email, voicemail or online form. Telephoned Customer Service at 5pm and after holding for 25minutes I did get to speak to someone. They said they were still waiting for an update from the Warehouse. • Tuesday 30th June. Further attempted calls, holding for 30muinutes before being cut off. Further emails. No responses. Telephoned Customer Service at 5pm and spoke with the person I dealt with. I raised concerns after reading all the negative online reviews for the company. Very apologetic. He said the same as per the previous day i.e. they were waiting for an update from their warehouse. I asked for the warehouse contact details and said I’d try calling them myself. • Called and emailed the warehouse. Open and honest dialogue with them with visibility of their order system and a clear explanation of the problem. There are 250 orders for my one specific item in “backorder” on their order system i.e. they are out of stock. They have repeatedly made Furniture at Work aware of this. I was lucky as there was one “free stock” item waiting allocation on the system and I got allocated to it. • Thursday 2nd July – after further communications with them confirming that the item was the same and in good repair, the item was received. The item was flat-packed and not assembled. They have made Furniture at Work aware that assembly for any order is not possible right now due to staff shortages and the Covid-19 pandemic. I accepted the flat-packed item. • Friday 3rd July – item successfully assembled. It was complete and in good repair. Contacted Furniture at Work to update them. Spoke to the person I dealt with again. I asked him for a partial refund for the assembly cost (£20+VAT). I was told this would be confirmed within 2-3 days and then the funds should be in my bank within 5 days of that. • Tuesday 7th June – sent email to Furniture at Work following up on this. No response. No refund. • Wednesday 15th June – 10 working days after being promised a partial refund I have had no communications from Furniture at Work and no refund has been received. The item is still available to buy on the website but the assembly option is not available to select which is something positive for the unsuspecting prospective customer.

“Furniture at Work - Worst Customer Service and...”

Do not buy from Furniture at Work! I purchased what was described as a Leather Chair, from Furniture At Work costing just over £180. It was supposed to be delivered within 5 days, but arrived after 2 and a half weeks. OK there has been a bit of a crisis going on (coronavirus pandemic in case you wondered), so I was OK with that. Anyway, when the chair turned up, I was shocked to see it was a Faux Leather chair and a different model to what I had ordered. I tried calling to report the problem but could not get through and was left on hold. No one ever answered the phone. I tried 4 times and nothing. I then decided to email them, numerous times with no reply! I was then later shocked to discover I was charged over £14 for 4 phone calls to Furniture at Work! After 3 weeks I got a reply and after also having spoken to the sales department on the phone, but not the customer services department, who never answer the phone. Anyway, they said they would escalate. A few days later I got an email from their customer services department saying that the transport team will be in touch soon to arrange a collection and credit. That was 2 weeks ago! I still have the unopened chair here. Not only should they be prosecuted under the trade description act, but their customer services is appalling. I have threatened legal action via email, requested a refund and reimbursement of the call charges I incurred whilst on hold waiting to speak to no-one! They do not care at all and have not even responded. Do not buy anything from them because if you get a problem you will never get it resolved. I am now looking to take action against them from a legal and banking perspective. Avoid this company like a Covid-19 infection!

“Never Ever Order from this company”

Took my money in March. Essential medical items need for our business to function. Delivered mid June but completely different items to what I ordered and totally unsuitable for a medical environment. They promised to collect the items and refund immediately. I am still waiting weeks later. They are still advertising the original items I ordered with a three month lead time. Do not be fooled or you will find yourself in my situation. I have now disputed this with my credit card company and will take them to the small claims court as it is absolutely shocking.

Use this company at your own peril. Took money up front and still waiting for goods 2months later. I have written emails, phoned, careful not to use their 'service number' as you will get charged. Their other number is 0204 but they do not answer on all options. Please do not use them. Every one star rating is right. Awful company, Atrocious service. 26.6.20.

Easy to place an order but don’t expect delivery or any response to emails or telephone calls! I place and paid for my order 7th April. On receipt of order confirmation I noticed it stated delivery 1st June. I was a little miffed that this wasn’t mentioned at the time of order but had enough to last until 1st June. To date I gave not received my order or any communication from them. I have tried several times to contact customer services by telephone. It is an 0844 number which puts you on hold for just over 58 mins at a cost of at least 11.5p per min and then cuts off. A nice way to make money by taking money for an order and then charging you to try and find out why you haven’t received the order. I have also emailed several times via their website and receive an automated response stating a 5 day SLA which could be longer due to COVID. Over 3 weeks later still no response. I am assuming Small Claims Court is the only way I am going to get my money back. Do not purchase from this company!
