Complaint I sent. Hi Today we had one of your deep filled steak pies (600g). To say I'm disappointed is an understatement as I have more fillings in my mouth than was in your pie. I counted about 6 pieces of steak with very little gravy filling. If I had wanted a fresh air pie I could have made one myself. I am not impressed. I will not be buying again & I won't be recommending to anybody. Seems this is the way all pie manufacturers are going. All crust no filling.

Disappointing a pie that struggles to feed one, great pastry making up 80% of the pie, it the pie will hurt your eyes looking for the fillings. what filling there was had good flavour, although the gravy made up the bulk of the filling. Would not buy this product again and will avoid the brand in future.

Having bought the chicken and asparagus pie previously, which we enjoyed very much. I thought I would try the STEAK pie for my husband and a female student. Looked good, tasted good but she questioned the contents of the pie. I said steak....that's what it is called on the box....and so she duly ate it. On further investigation of what she found I read the ingredients on the box. Not what I expected....reformed smoked flavoured bacon! She is a Muslim...arghhhhh! I have a very agitated student at the moment and I feel that you should make it either STEAK pie or STEAK and BACON pie,and state so in larger print than hidden away in the small print on the box.

Bought chicken & broccoli lattice from morrisons edinburgh as they were on offer to find a piece of cardboard in it. Disgusted! How do I contact manufactures?

I bought a mcdougalls steak pie and looked forward to a good friday night dinner, only to find there was no meat in my pie. Of gravy there was plenty but no meat. Did someone forget to fill the pie ? Does the box have the wrong desciption ? Are they meant for the denture challenged ? Can someone please explain where the meat went ? I wont be buying another.

it's absolutely rubbish. what meat there was, was poor quality and even had grizzle in it. Could cut a slice os pie because the crust at the bottom was stuck to the tray.
The only flavour was pepper and cardboard from the crus.
Why would any shop/supermarket sell such rubbisht
written by BrynleeCrowley on 17/05/2014
Should be illegal to sell this as food, does not deserve a star.

Hardly and so-called chicken and a few strands of green stuff smothered in a bland, translucent goo - vile. Even at Asda's knock down price to was too dear. Never again

Take Note! I was looking forward to eating my UpperCrust Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Lattices. What a disappointment. A minute piece of broccoli, smaller than my little finger nail. As for the chicken, all I had was two tiny pieces. It certainly did not match the image on the box. Not much inside this product. A definite thumbs down. I will never purchase any of your products again. Perhaps it was a bad batch and I was unlucky.

I brought this Deep Filled Chicken Pie OMG on the package the chicken look nice & chunky when it was cooked & sliced the bits were so tiny it was a joke !!!!! plus I cooked it as it said but the bottom was all soft best part was the upper crust. I will never buy this AGAIN.

Just had mcdougalls upper crust chicken, mushroom & bacon pie. The upper crust is the best part The rest - rubbish ! 1 tiny piece of chicken size of a pea, zero bacon in a dark supposedly limited supply of mushroom sauce What a let down, I do not eat much meat but this was a joke! Would not recommend nor buy again.

we were really looking forward to this as our main meal of the day - what a disappointment - hardly any meat in it at all - thought hang on a minute - the picture on the box shows loads of chunky steak pieces - between the two of us we found about 6 pieces of meat - and gave a cheer each time - would never buy another one - waste of money - and if you cannot fill it with chunks of steak - don't advertise it as such - I would suggest that you take this product of the market until you can get it right very misleading very annoyed waste of money

This is the second McDougalls Deep Filled Steak pie we have had. The same result both times "Wheres the Meat" is what we all keep saying. More juice than the non-existent meat. Please sort yourselves out McDougalls. It should be what it says on the box DEEP FILLED STEAK PIE. Would not buy another one and would not recommend it either.

I bought 2 Chicken, Mushroom and Bacon pies, well that's what it said on the box. Could not find any chicken or bacon but the gravy had a hint of mushroom. There should be a law against such dreadful mis-selling.

Might as well have been a vegetarian pie with the amount of meat it contained. This is a disgrace!!! I am not getting what I have paid for! (And there not cheap either). I advise people not to buy this product. I feel totally ripped off and very hungry now.

My son had a McDougalls Upper Crust steak & peppered sauce pie this evening and it was a mass of gravy on his plate with a few tiny bits of meat in a pastry case. It looked just like runny dog or cat food in a pie, nothing like the photo on the box. 'Flavoursome pies filled with prime steak in a rich and creamy peppered sauce' This is totally misleading and I will not be buying this pie ever again.

thought I was the only one to find these pies dreadful.just mush, beginning to wonder WHAT was in them since the recent scandal on horse meat mind you if they had put horse meat in them might have found a couple of bites

This is hilarious.Recently bought my mother a laptop, and today was showing how anything at all could be Googled. Suggested we looked for something topical, and we had just been talking about some awful McDougall pies she had bought from Morrisons and eaten this week, so I googled McDougall pies and found this page. The comments are exactly what we had been saying. Luckily she has kept the packaging. I am going top this back to Morrisons for a refund - and I might also print off some of the other comments on this site to show it is a widespread problem.

I had one of these pies tonight with my family, it was rubbish and I have instructed my wife NEVER to buy them again.
In 1993 I bought a pack of 4 of their pies from Tesco in Chatham, I cooked and ate one, well I say ate, I gave up when I couldn't find any meat and then wrapped them up and posted them back to McDougals writing FREEPOST on the packaging, I bet that they must have stunk by the time they got to the company's offices but what the heck? They obviously don't care about their customers and that explains why the rip us off so why should I care if they get a smelly parcel? McDougals sent me vouchers to spend on more of their products, I tore them in half and sent them back, again writing FREEPOST on the envelope and including a letter telling them what they could do with their vouchers, they replied with an unaccompanied cheque for the amount that I had originally paid for the pies in Tesco, I never heard from them again but mark my words, they WILL be hearing from me.

I have the same complaint with their chicken pie. Pastry and gravy was great but spot the chicken, about 6 pieces of chicken, most went in bin. Will never buy again, disgraceful.
