“Money grabbers and hidden fees.”

Air canada is trash and I would never recommend it to anyone. I arrived for my flight 40 minutes before they boarded, and they said I needed to arrive 45 minutes before. They then made me pay a $150 CAD to change my flight from 6 am to 1230 pm. So not only did I have to pay 150 dollars, i had to wait another 6 hours because they couldnt look passed 5 minutes. Not to mention the 20 dollar fee for every flight where you have to check your seat out. Pure trash, not impressed whatsoever and will not be flying air Canada again.

“Delay, Delay, Caneled Flight!”

NEVER fly Air Canada! Our travel group to Tel Aviv, Israel sat in the Nashville, TN airport from 7:30 A.M. until 4 P.M. with excuses first of a "weather" problem in Toronto and then a "mechanical" problem with the plane. After our group leader complained to the CEO of Air Canada we were given a free night at a local Hilton Airport hotel and a $17 food voucher per couple which won't buy much at a Hilton restaurant. We were out extra money for dinner. We were promised by Air Canada that our flight would go the next day but when we again arrived at the airport at 7:15 A.M. no one was at the counter and seemingly they had done nothing to get us to Tel Aviv. After waiting until about 11 A.M. we were finally told we would be put on a flight leaving at around 1 P.M. BUT it was routed through Toronto and Zurich Switzerland before getting to Tel Aviv. It took us 3 days to get from Nashville, TN to Tel Aviv, Israel. Coming back 11 days after the flight leaving from Tel Aviv was delayed by an hour. It was an exhausting frustrating trip due to Air Canada. NEVER fly AIR CANADA!

“victoria to toronto and return packed like sardines”

seating on both flights were terrible knees pressed against the seat then some guy decides to recline his ahead. Im surprised there isn't more fights! Never will I take this flight again. Yes it is direct and the staff on the way back were good-we actually got some peanuts and drinks-paid for of course- You are packed in so tight in and emergency no way to escape. uncomfortable never again. And Baggage and seating charges.

“Priority Seating - Lost Baggage”

Wow. I arrived at the airport early, and was the second person in line to check my luggage. They lost it. I guess that's because I bought Priority seating. I phoned the "Baggage Customer Care Centre" who were able to tell me that my bag was now in Toronto. I asked them to ship it right away. Apparently "Baggage Customer Care" doesn't get involved in returning luggage. Someone else does. I'll find out who, when they call. It's been 14 hours and I'm still waiting for a call. I asked for financial consideration since I'm not exactly getting "Priorty" service. The "Baggage Customer Care Centre" said that their care doesn't extend that far; but they're sorry.

“LOST BAGGAGE, NO HELP”

My baggage has been lost. the toll free number on website is not serviced. It is menu driven but when selecting menu items I am thrown in an endless loop. A connection flight with Lufthansa complicates things. They each blame the other for the lost baggage and are NOT dealing with the issue. I was told by the attendant at the airport to whom I reported the lost baggage, that if things worked smoothly she would be out of a job. In other words her job is at my expense. I received an email notifying me of a flight number on which my bag was to be sent however the website indicates the bag is still not located. Mixed messages or no messages. Rude, insensitive service and a system whereby no or mixed information is provided. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

“Worse On Board Service ”

Horrible food served on filmsy plastic. Staff not particularly helpful. I needed a wheelchair, no announcement was made to advise me to remain in my seat till wheelchairs arrived. When it did arrive I was not informed! No one from staff member offered to help me. I will never travel Air Canada again. I travel a lot and this is the worst in flight I've experienced. The ground staff were very helpful, they helped with my luggage and boarded us first.

“Frustration. Cancellations. Overnight in public area. ”

Cancelled flight. Over booked flights. No compensation. No communication. It is frustrating to see all the other airlines flying to your destination, yet watch as Air Canada cancel multiple flights. Even more frustrating to be told that you can get on another flight, and then watch as flight after flight takes off with an army of angry customers on stand by. The most frustrating of all is to be told that you need to come back in the morning , instead of a hotel you are given a pillow and told you can sleep in the public area tonight . Yikes!! this is a dangerous and irresponsible company. Be prepared for the worst.

“Nice staff, but cheapskate experience”

San Francisco to Glasgow, by way of Toronto. Even soft drinks weren't free on the San Francisco-Toronto leg, though they did provide reasonable meals on the transatlantic part. There was—effectively—no in-flight entertainment, even on the long transatlantic part. They had a WiFi based, use-your-own-device system, but it relied on installing a complicated app that most people around me couldn't get to work. They had a few tablets for rent, but quickly ran out. The bring-your-own-device idea isn't bad, but they shouldn't require an app—just serve media in a normal browser window. An app is just one more thing to not work right, unless it is extremely well written, which this wasn't.. They were extremely relaxed about losing my daughter's luggage for two days—forcing her to buy a new dress for a wedding she was to attend in Glasgow. On the plus side, the flight attendants were pleasant, professional, and helpful, and the fare was reasonable.

“delay delay delay”

flight delayed in Calgary and missed connecting flight to Victoria had to wait 6 hours...6 hours for a half hour flight!!! I am an elite flyer for business and this happens time and time again. You would think they would do something about this with all the horrible reviews!!! I will be booking my personal and business flights with west jet from now on.

“horrible experience”

2 flights each over 1 1/2 hours late taking off with no explanation. Lost all luggage and couldn't get information on them. Called lost luggage department, on hold 21 minutes someone answered and promptly got disconnected. Called back was on hold 53 minutes. Horrible customer service and follow through!

“Awful ”

Do not fly with these use ba. The food is vile you hardly get any beverages. They got us back in late to heathrow and I had to throw away perfumery that we purchased as we had to go through the whole rigmarole of booking in again due to late flight we were taken off connecting flight then had to wait hrs for the next flight and purchase breakfast and lunch our lift at Manchester had to be cancelled due to having plans so more cost in a taxi. Ruined my whole holiday experience to Niagara Falls. Then offer no compensation just discount off a flight when I would never use nor recommend them again!!

“worst air line & staff very rude not helpful carless”

very rude staff who dont care about customer as what they serve we had frozen bread & frozen fruits trying to eat u would require steel teeth hot food had gone off when complained this is what got (staff not ready to listen or address matter)make thing worse on flight had fault but staff did not want to admit instead they said it technical fault and was diverted back to Toronto sitting on plane for approx 3 hours they are doing very good job so that u would never again with air canada

“can the skies open up”

we don't have much choice here. going down I could bring my bag on the flight from Toronto to LAX. coming home, after I had checked in, got my seat, and was waiting for over 3 hours to board, ticket agent comes rudely and tells me I have to check my bag! you are doing such a great job of losing customers! keep up the good work! when can Canadians have the option to not use Air Canada but fly with an American airline?? we are anxiously waiting!

Have travelled Air Canada several times only because there is no other option available. Inconsistent to what an allowable carry on size can be - bought suitcase based on their specs and still didn't 'fit' sizer. Never on time / rude - make you feel like they are doing you a favor / wait times for call and email responses unreasonable / lack of info on website and just overall very poor travel experiences with them. Avoid if at all possible.

There is flight from Toronto to Milwaukee , 1HR flight turning to be 5 Hours flight , On the way to Milwaukee Delayed 2Hr and back Flight 3 HR Delayed , issue? they need to wait to change the crew ,,,, Poor service for clients , the announcement of the fact of Delayed flight is coming on last minute , just like they don't know before they missing crew ? yes they will give you $10.00 , where the cheapest sandwich on airport cost $11.00 , and doesn't look like your eyes want to eat them ,flaying Air Canada is just a bad dream , I will not recommended to my worst enemy , even Canadian Ducks can fly better than Air Canada . Shame , Shame , Shame ...... or some how Canadian joke !!!!!

“Worst airline ever”

Three flight delayed , canceled or mechanical issues. Took a day and half out of our vacation. It wasn't just one flight, but 3 and the worst was dealing with the customer service line/people to rebook once your flight is canceled. We stood there for 2.5 hours. The people were rude, slow, incompetent, unorganized and there was no management. The managers would call on the phone and talk to the workers, but not come down. The workers didn't care because they said they were getting overtime. They were awlful. I have never experienced anything like this is is Air Canada as a whole not just an issue with one flight. Do not take this airline!!!!

“Delayed 3 times. Do Not Fly Air Canada”

Two day delay!!! We made our connection but they couldn't get the bag over in time, so we get bumped before we even landed (I would have told them to junk he bag and get me on the plane) but told nothing but go see customer service. We get to customer service, and (wait for it) - wait 3 HOURS in line!!!! 3 Hours!?!? No kidding, only to be told that there is nothing they can do and btw there is an event in town so there is not hotels within 45 mins of the hotel. Then we are told that we were placed on the next mornings 9:00am flight... So we are stuck sleeping on the floor of the airport (it's 1:00am at this point) we get up and get to the gate by 5:45 THEN only to be told this 9:00am flight has also been pushed back to 7:00pm that night because the plane needs a new engine!!! We go to customer service to complain to be told 'sorry' and these things happen and to just stick it out and offered $20 for the inconvenience of missing two days of our trip. (Which gives insult to injury at this point) ... I am now waiting for our 7:00pm flight to London. I have no faith in Air Canada and neither should you!!! DO NOT FLY AIR CANADA if you want a smooth flight and experience. They will frustrate you, insult you, delay you and give you nothing - absolutely nothing! Not sure how this airline can legally do this to passengers (must be a Canadanian thing?) How is this Airline still in business??? Whatever you do, for the sake of your trip and family... Do not fly on Air Canada. They are the worst airline I have ever flown on. I fly every month, never again. This is a honest review of my own and the 20+ people I spoke with during my (lack of) travel with Air Canada. I tell you to stay away from Air Canada for your own good, do not test them, do not try them, do not think this is a one time thing. You have been warned about Air Canada, do not book any flight with this airline!!!!

“Won't Fly on Air Canada Again”

I was in Narita Airport during the month of April waiting for my flight to Calgary. There was a delay of one hour shown on the airport. Two hours later no one at the gate knew what was going on. Hour three we were told our plane was in Nagoya and would arrive in about 1 hour. Four hours later we were still waiting. Water was passed out to customers. Five hours later we were told there was a continued delay due to the weather yet two previous Air Canada flights left so customers began to wonder what was going on. No communication to customers from Air Canada. Flight was suppose to leave at 4pm and around 12am (hours later) we were told that we needed to go through customs. After clearing customs by 1am, we were told that we would be put on another flight the following day. No hotels were provided because we were told they were all full. Another bottle of water and peanuts were provided plus a sleeping bag. We were told to sleep on the airport floor. The next morning, we checked into our flight and given a coupon for breakfast. Flight finally left 24 hours later. Pilot apologized for the delay. I wrote a four page letter to Air Canada an never received a response. Total lack of respect from Air Canada.

“Worst customer service”

I will never fly Air Canada again. In Toronto, Delays followed by a cancelled flight. Rebooked for the next day, but no hotel voucher, no airport food voucher. Nonsense! Customer service people are no help and not nice about it. They told me to go the third floor of the airport to sleep. Third floor has almost no carpeting and the benches have armrests. Similar story for my flight out, delays followed by an aircraft that took off and then we had to return to airport due to mechanical issue. Then the crew times out so we waited a total of 6 hours. I got $20 in airport voucher. No restaurants open so junk food only. I won't book another flight on AC. I recommend you avoid it too.
