“Cyclone C-11 bike alarms are without doubt excellent...”

★★★★★

written by on 17/02/2011

Cyclone C-11 bike alarms are without doubt excellent value for money. Though in all honesty the cyclone V2 is sooo much better for japanese bikes and for only a few quid more. Would go for one of those for all but small bikes and thats my best advice. Found both nigel and james to be very helpful and willing to help, which sells it for me.
Have also tried Hawk, though for a car alarm. Found their support staff very rude and quick to blame the customer. I dont think the issue is overly helped by the fack that Hawk is blatently run by people for whom english is not their first language. Apparently all hawk alarms can be disabled by shorting out an indcator bulb according to MCN!

written by on 25/11/2010

Bought a one 4 years ago and still going strong! Im am in the process of buying a new bike and would use one again, though would probably now go for the newer V2 type they sell as it is more specific for Japanese bikes and have a no wire cutting fitting system.
I do think the little cheap unit is ideal for small bikes or those wanting basic security. Have also tried the Hawk alarm, which someone has mentioned, but was a little worried about the fact that it seems that is can be disabled by simply shorting out an indicator. I saw this on a blog and tried it on my old cb 250, and it does disable it.The cyclone has protection against this and seems to be the only alarm in this price that is security based.
All in all cant fault it for the money. I will let you know how the V2 is when I finally get one.

Fitted succesfully on bandit6 and I think its c#@p. When its armed I can carefully take the bike and walk with it for miles, unless I tap the bike with my hand it wont go!
I got all support I wanted about fitting it, but when I asked about that issue I got no reply at all.
So thanks a lot, but I think Im going to return it to the seller.
Very cheap alarm, but it schould be much more sensitive.
Value for money? Please..

Four bikes and each has had the cyclone alarm fitted. Why well they are cheap and one loud and reliable alarms. Not one of the others that set them selves and go off every two minutes. Easy instal with wireing diagram for my bike not for any other bike. Takes me now 15 minutes to get this up and running simple as they say.

You can go buy a £300 alam but personally I'd go for the Cyclone C11 everytime.
Sniff

“I bought this alarm for my 1999 SV650 as the bike...”

★★★☆☆

written by humillard on 04/01/2009

I bought this alarm for my 1999 SV650 as the bike didn't cost a fortune I was reluctant to spend 1/3 of the cost of the bike on an alarm. So I bought the Cyclone C11.
Once the C11 is fitted with the immobiliser, the ignition switch can no longer be used to switch the motor off. You have to use the emergency switch or find the fob and hit the correct button. If you use the emergency switch then you have to switch the alarm off before switching if on or the panic alarm will go off.
I was also surprised that it didn't have the ability to stop the alarm from beeping when you switch it on and off. C11 uses the same siren as the alarm so it is very load. Not very neighbour friendly. I also understand the the EU requires the alarm setting to be silent; it should only flash the indicators.
I have replaced my battery since fitting the alarm and I still have the battery going flat when the temeratures drop to say -2. I've had Suzuki test my charging system and it is fine. Last test is to leave my new battery out of the bike in the cold and see check for voltage drop. The batteries hold there charge in when stored in the conservatory. I'll report what I find.

“Purchased the Cyclone c11 talking version from eBay....”

written by on 13/12/2008

Purchased the Cyclone c11 talking version from eBay. It took me about 45 minutes to install on my Gilera Runner 125 vx. Only had to call supplier once to verify what wire to attach the remote start to. Everything worked first time, I am very happy with the functions that this alarm offers for the mere price of £25 including delivery. I also found it very straight forward to fit and wire as the company supply you with the exact wiring diagram for your bike... Great piece of kit...

Found it really easy to fit, but I'm a spark so.....
The technical support seems to be in place if required. I went for the completely keyless option and got the extra connection info from the company the same day I asked.
I left the bike able to be started by the key or the alarm, works a treat.

“A website explaining each wires function eg, the brown...”

★★★☆☆

written by on 15/06/2008

A website explaining each wires function eg, the brown wire supplies power for the ignition to produce sparks means that you can then find that wire on your own machine and work out where and how to connect it, Another colour goes to the starter solenoid with the second press of the keyfob button or these wires go to the indicator relay to light up when the alarm is armed or disarmed. Going through every wire with a meter trying to second guess what each one is supposed to do has not borne much fruit and I do know my way around a meter and wiring loom. The start + - and remote Labels on the wires are ambiguous without the diagram and operating instructions. A simple scan of these would solve so many problems very easily and would not take much effort.

★★★★★

written by SPEEDYR6 on 27/03/2007

I bought this off eBay after reading reviews and was not disappointed. Also when I received the alarm I had forgotten to tell them my bike make and model. They popped a message in the box to contact them for further instruction, so I did, and to my surprise they were able to tell me where and the exact wire colours and the best places to connect them - outstanding help! I had to phone them a few times as I'm not the most competent person in the world, however they were very patient with me and a great help. The alarm its self is great, good sensitivity and key-less remote start which is great. One of my friends bought one just for that feature alone. All in all this is an absolute steal for £25 and with the tech support for free I can't believe there selling at this price cracking product and a cracking team.

“Overall, I wasn't completely happy with my C-11...”

★★☆☆☆

written by RobertJnk on 28/02/2007

Overall, I wasn't completely happy with my C-11 purchase. But I didn't pay much for it, so I didn't have too many regrets. But the siren false triggering finally prompted me to start looking for something else. I finally found yet another "Cyclone" branded alarm, made by a company in Japan, named Kiramek. Apparently, this is not the same company who builds the C-11 alarms. Anyway, they offered me a discount on their Cyclone 866F model because I told them about my lackluster experience with the C-11. The Kiramek 866 product is much more expensive than the C-11, which I was worried about. But when I got the 866 installed I could clearly see why it costs more. This thing works!

So anyway, if I can help other C-11 owners (or those of you considering a C-11), I can only suggest that you visit the Kiramek site (Google for it) and check out their Cyclone alarm. I'm pretty sure they'll give you a big discount if you ask. It's really a premium bike alarm, compared to what I deem "the low-end C-11."

written by outatime on 12/11/2006

A superb product with good instructions, superb performance and great reliability - it's totally faultless as far as I'm concerned. This product is too cheap for what you get and out performs many other alarms, even cat1!
I've fitted many alarms and this is a superb product that works first time, every time, fit and forget, it does not get any simpler.
Like I said before, if you get confused by wires and where things will fit, and how they fit, then get a person who knows what they are doing, you could spend half a day fitting it instead of an hour.
I'll do it for you, ha ha.

Once again... a fantastic alarm!

I thought I had bought a bargain, they say it has a 12 month warranty, but will not honour it after 28 days. My Cyclone C11 Alarm went faulty and I contacted them on the 29th day. He would not do anything about it. Please beware of this company.

I bought two of these for our bikes thinking we had a deal. However, no REAL help, apart from offering to send out their man at our cost when we had an issue with installing them.
<br/>
<br/>The instructions were NOT for our bikes, as they say they were. Two different bikes yet the same instructions. Called another website company and they put me in contact with their fitter, who pointed out the error on the wire diagrams. He solved my problem in minutes. Just wish I had bought from them first time. Put my mates in contact with them. They bought from them with no problems and GREAT after sales support.

I got one of these alarms recently from ebay and had lots of trouble getting it to work - it wouldn't recognise the remotes. I eventually got it working but then it failed again last weekend. I took it apart and found a solder joint between the main PCB and radio receiver board was faulty. I repaired this and the alarm now seems to work fine. I also had some trouble decoding the instructions but eventually figured it out. My guess is these alarms are pretty good but the build quality needs to be improved and the after sales service is poor. I'm reasonably happy with the alarm so far (apart from the trouble getting it to work)!

Thought I would just add, that I may have got it from someone else and not the same chap as this guy, as it was off eBay. But even still, the Cyclone C11 is not a great alarm, and it will be swapped out for a 2 way one when the funds are in place again.... My mate has a 2 way one that is the bees knees.

written by daveislander on 27/08/2006

Bought 2 for my sons, 1 for a Honda Cg125, 1 for a Yamaha 125 Custom. The instructions are NOT as easy as you might think, but with a moderate knowledge you can fit these things in a couple of hours! Each bike had its own problems.. The Honda had a Japanese wiring loom to the front which altered the colours but a quick call to the supplier had this sorted in minutes. The Yamaha has no ignition disable wire from the ignition which means it cannot turn off the engine (anti hijack) but with the new SPEAKING system included in the C11 it took a total of 3 hours for both bikes to Warn me to 'Step away from this motorcycle' and to prevent ANY tampering with both Bikes.
Absolutely brilliant system at ridiculous prices and worth every penny.
NOTE. Although I don't think these are Thatcham rated I do understand that they will reduce premiums by up to 15% with some insurance companies.
