I subscribed to this site in good faith, hoping to meet someone who fits the bill, is genuine, and basically wants the same as me. Instead I made contact with those who at first seemed authentic, but in a short space of time, they could not hide the fact that they were frauds. Whether they were from Ghana, UK or elsewhere, the bottom line was the same. If I subscribe to a dating site again it will not be this one.

Poor site, no contact with anyone other than a person who is not who they claim to be (this site wont let me use the correct word for these people) saying she was in the UK but in fact in Ghana, I told them but her profile is still up after 3 weeks. They also make it very difficult for you to cancel your payment, you have to do it online and call them.

I can only confirm all the negative comments that I have read on here. I joined this site a couple of weeks ago because my youngest daughter has gone to uni and I wanted to meet compatible single men of my age, and thought this was the logical way to do it as I am too old for pubs and clubs now. Within the first week women have been able to view my profile and send winks and put themselves down as admirers when I am straight! Yesterday they sent out automated replies to people I had no intention of contacting. Then today they are sending out automated winks on my behalf. Men as young as 21 are contacting me after viewing my photo only!! I am no spring chicken and this is stated in my profile that I do not want inappropriate contact. The instant messenger is blocked most of the time by my my pc security and does not work on most occasions even when deemed safe. I keep getting emails from their vast array of other companies stating I am getting mail, etc when I have'nt even joined these sites and yes the males are young enough to be my sons....................totally 100% disgusted with this company. Some of these e-mail have GDFF first so could easily be opened by mistake which I almost on one occasion = yes there are loads of other companies involved with them. I have complained yesterday and today and then received replies that do not correspond with my complaint. As a novice to computers and internet dating, I am now on my guard and wondering if anybody is real and genuine after reading about the scammers and dating fraudsters. I have been asked to meet/to give my phone number/to give my e-mail address on first contact with males on this site and loads of contact from the U.S.- thank goodness I have my head screwed on and did not give out any information. I despair as what does this say about internet dating which is tricky enough!!! I feel very disappointed with what was a glimmer of hope to meet my soul mate.

www.girlsdateforfree.com is a complete rip off. Don't even go there. Here's why: 1. You are told to pay an upfront fee of £19.79. When I checked my credit card later, I discovered an additional charge of £14.90 had been taken. I'm now trying to get it refunded. 2. On the female profiles there is no Last Visit date, so you don't know if the women are still at the site or not? 3. Many of the profiles look like 'plants' put there to entice men to enter the site. 4. The site works in tandem with other sites that pop up all the time and bombard you with stuff you don't want. 5. Cancelling your subscription can be tricky. After going through the online cancellation process you then receive a msg from the site to call CS to cancel your subscription again. If you don't call and cancel a second time, then presumably you'll be rebilled again at the beginning of the new month. All in all, the worst site out there. AVOID!

i dont really know the workin of this site because i never signed up to this, i found out that i was a member one day wen i checked my emails and bank statement and not to mention my missus was beside me. which they so kindly helped themselves to my money with not !1 but 3 payments each one higher and higher.... They are a bunch of scamers, low life scum!!! SO, so many $$$$ later i cancelled the so called account i had, lets just only hope i have successfully removed it... words cannot explain the anger i have for this website!!!!

This site is a total scam. Very few of the women on it actually belong to it. Most of the profiles are either fake or they belong to other paying websites owned by the same bunch of crooks. This is easily proven because the name formats of the profiles are different; also some female members have comments in their profiles to say they are no longer paying members! This is because they didn't actually sign up to GDFF, but OkCupid or CupidAffinity, which are all run by the same thieving scum. You will notice that you will get junk mail from these sites long after you leave GDFF, saying someone has mailed you. (Of course they haven't done any such thing). Bascially all the profiles from the dating titles they own are spread across all of their websites to con people into believing there are more members on each one than there actually are. THis makes it easier for them to hide fake profiles etc. It might even fool some people into signing up to multiple sites of theirs, who are blissfully unaware of this. On top of that, much of the site's "tools" don't work. You get pop up messages to import Facebook friends every time you log in even when you tick the box to decline the offer. I guess this is a hamfisted way of badgering people to import more contacts to then flog their rubbish to. I'm quite sure that if they were selling insurance or white goods they would long have been investigated by the ASA or other consumer protection agencies. By the way, women lose out too because their profiles are all over the internet without their knowledge or consent, on sites they never signed up to, and where they cannot be contacted. This site is one big rip off from start to finish. You have been warned.

i met some one on here and she said she was from accra ghana but her profile said london england !!! then over time scammed me for money which i know is my own fault for being so gullable in the first place but was not expecting this site to be full of fake women justlooking for an esay ride off men.....i def won't use this site or reckomend it to any of my friends ..............

Most of the women are on a pay site (possibly Cupid.com?) and cannot communicate with the male paying members so half of them are completely inaccessible. How do I know that? Because some of the women actually say in their profiles that they are no longer members and cannot reply... Also some have multiple profiles appearing on line at the same time but with different names! It crashes. It empties mailboxes at random. It shows people on line who arent. It circulates spurious messages from other members who haven't actually sent them. It has profiles of people who are NEVER offline but of course never browse, open or respond to messages (no surprise that theyre the ones with "nice" photos - why? because they dont exist). It has an automatic repayment method so you have to cancel your subscription 48 hours beforehand, but what it misleads people into doing if they do that early on is into deleting their profile. They know then that most people will leave it til the last minute and likely forget... I don't have to explain anymore there. It's a site designed to con men out of cash. The genuine women on there are also being conned in a way because men are wasting their time trying to chat with or write to non existent users... all round a complete fraud. And this isnt sour grapes at not getting dates; I have used other sites with success but would NEVER use this again. I also have evidence to back up what Im saying.

In my opinion this website is a complete scam. 99% of messages you recieve appear to come from another member but don't - they are generated automatically by the system, saying that this member has just joined the site etc. This is clearly a scam to get you to pay a membership to read these useless messages.

PLEASE, DO NOT BE FOOLED LIKE I WAS!!!!

If you don't believe me, just take a look how many of the female profiles have little or no editorial attached to them. Likely these members are created by the system admins.

I complained to "Support" about this on several occations, but they didn't even have the decency to reply.
