“Stylish and comfy but not pratical!”

★★★☆☆

written by Jennaboo on 23/02/2013

I've been using my icandy strawberry for 10 weeks now. I love how sleek and stylish it looks and my 10 week old loves her carrycot and always falls asleep easily in it. However, there are a few negative points I have to mention. i havevlisted them below. The first major flaw is the front wheels, they are a nightmare. I mean to the point it could be dangerous. I was out for a walk in the park with my children, it was a little muddy and all the mud, twigs and leaves clogged the wheels, I had to tip onto the back wheels to get home. I dislodged all the muck, which took me around 30 mins. I was shocked at the sheer amount of mud and derbies that came out, I had to use a knife to scrape most of it out. The front wheels are fixed so they cannot be removed. The front and back suspension has developed a squeaking noise. I went back to the shop where I purchased the pram, they have told me to spray with polish and leave overnight. So I will give this a try and see if it resolves. The icandy decals came away after a few days. I purchased icandy decal stickers from EBay. The poppers for the carrycot apron are awkwardly placed and are a little fiddly to do. The bumper bar is fixed. I would've liked to see a gate opening mechanism for ease of getting child in and out of pram/ carrycot. Also I would not recommend putting light weight items in the basket as they usually blow out with a slight gust of wind. Overall a fantastic looking pram best suited for city living and those who don't do much walking. If I'd have known what I know now I probably would have went for the icandy peach or jogger instead of the strawberry ( my sister has the peach and has none of these problems). I would like to see icandy fix the design flaw with the front wheels ASAP.

“Great pram”

★★★★★

written by on 23/01/2013

I have had my strawberry for nearly a year now and have found it to be the best pram I have had. Looking at the other reviews I can see people mention about the wheels clogging up - I have only had this a little and with a tap on the side of the wheel the leaves/mud drop out and we are off again. I think this can happen with most prams as I have had the same problem for my other childrens pushchairs, the worse I experienced it was with my Bugaboo Chameleon, but I also had it with the silver cross surf.... The way the strawberry moves and the ease of the fold makes up for the tiny frustration of the wheels. I would recommend this pram to others. Oh and also a tip for when in the snow, my husband pulls the pram on its back wheels, it works better in the snow because of the rear wheels being bigger :)

“I candy strawberry”

Whilst this pram/pushchair is relatively light, sleek and very easy to manoeuvre it has one major design fault - the front wheels get extremely clogged with leaves which is incredibly frustrating and dangerous as the whole thing can come to an abrupt halt! For the money this is a very bad design which is a shame as if it wasn't for this I would definitely recommend it to others. If you don't have dogs or want to go for a walk just around the town to look stylish then this is the pushchair for you. A real shame.

“Disappointing ”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 30/11/2012

On the surface this is a great product, but it's as if it never quite finished being developed. It's well built and initially great to use - it's especially smooth and easy to turn. However there are a number of 'design' features that really annoy and frustrate: - the carry bar on the pram and seat doesn't fold so you have to completely remove it or it gets in the way. - doesn't auto lock when folded and is fiddly. - poppers for the cover are hidden behind bars and clips and are really annoying to do up! - Most annoying of all, the front wheels clog up with leaves and mud in Autumn. Surely some testing would have highlighted this!? Overall disappointing-wouldn't recommend.

“Good but flawed”

★★★☆☆

written by NeilDaunder on 11/11/2012

Reviews on this site have been quite positive but personally, we're a bit disappointed with our Strawberry. The folding mechanism is great, the stroller feels solid, is nice to push around and bubby always looks comfy in the carrycot. However, there are a couple of things that really let it down. Having just hit autumn we've discovered the front wheels are designed in a way that results in their being very prone to becoming clogged & jamming with leaves and twigs. This can happen just walking around leafy paths & pavements and worse, once it starts to jam it's almost impossible to access where you need to clear out, which means a walk around the park can become a nightmare. On top of this, the poppers for the carrycot cover are awkwardly located behind chassis bars. The cover has to be removed every time bubba goes in or out so it's a real pain. Also the carry bar for the cot blocks your view of bubba and again, has a mechanism that’s stiff to operate when you want to remove it. Overall, these all add up & we just feel for the money spent we can’t really excuse the basic flaws in the design, so I’m afraid to say we do regret the purchase.

“I candy review”

★★★★☆

written by on 31/08/2012

I do like the I candy as pram, however I feel the cost of it and the fact the i candy writing comes off from the side of the frame like some kind of cheap pram! It certainly is not cheap and feel like it cheapens the brand. My friend has the I candy apple and she has had hers for years and the writing still down the side. I would not recommend asi feel cheated with this as I am so precise with small details.

“A beautiful practical comfortable pram.”

★★★★★

written by Pramenvy on 29/03/2012

I've owned my Strawberry for 10 days now and I really do love it. I've had every pram available from Bugaboos to Quinny and all of the ones in between . I also run my own business selling prams to try and curb my pram obsession. Whilst I love this Pram I'm going to start with the points I'm not impressed by. No pram I've ever owned is "perfect" this one comes close though :). Annoying point one. It does not self lock and has a rather dated plastic clip that you put on which is fiddle to undo. Two. It's a wide buggy when folded, I've overcome this by removing the wheels and bumper bar when I'm folding it. Three. Ok that's it haha. They are the only bugs I have. Now the good things, how long have you got? Looks. The curves on the pram are gorgeous and the fabric is of such good quality that my baby is happy, snug and very cosy. Folding. I can fold it with my four month old in my arms it's amazingly easy. As previously mentioned it's not a compact fold but you can remove the wheels and bumper bar very easily. The memory function remembers that you've got the position in recline and magically leaps into the position you fold it in. Wheels: Perfect suspension baby feels hardly any bumps in the road, great over grass and equally as good in Starbucks :) they are solid so no worries about punctures and they are smooth so easy to clean after youve walked over a muddy footie pitch. Very light to turn, better than a bugaboo ;) Frame: shiny but not too shiny chrome chassis light to lift and push. Hood: good coverage of baby although not quite big enough to not need a parasol, made of a very thick material that seems to be fade resistant which is a bonus. Seat liner. A real feature it's smooth and comfortable absolutely stunning. Handle: adjustable and soooo smooth to adjust. Storage: Perfect just perfect the basket is enough for my bags and a punnet under the seat for my keys phone purse. Nappies wipes and random kid stuff that I accumulate. Although my hubby did joke that it was a shoplifters paradise! Thankfully I've not been tempted :). Seat unit. Easy to adjust. And perfect positions for my boy. Brake. Very easy to do in flip flops ( who would have thought I'd be wearing them in March!) brilliant at stopping my toddler wonder off with the baby. Colour options: I went for earl grey as it compliments the chrome hood perfectly. But I was torn as the purple and red are awfully pretty too. And unisex which is great. The hood come complete so there's no sliding the fabric on and off, it's easy. Overall. I'm delighted. The price was fabulous and the 2 year warranty great. My favourite part of it is that my baby is so comfortable it actually seems to snuggle him into the seat and as they say Happy baby equals a Happy Mummy and vice versa. You NEED this pram don't hesitate treat your baby they deserve it!

“Perfect Pushchair: Best Stroller I've Ever Owned”

★★★★★

written by AmyNoone on 08/02/2012

After months of waiting it finally arrived - my iCandy Strawberry! There was a lot of hype for it so part of me worried that it would fail to live up to expectations, but I am pleased to say that it has surpassed my expectations. I love it! It's by far the best stroller I have ever owned! First thing's first, make sure you get a demonstration in store because it will save effort when it comes to learning its ins and outs. However, it is a complete breeze when you know how - in particular I'm referring to the way it folds. iCandy developed a unique one hand step and fold action that proves to be a real time and effort saver. It's free standing when folded so again, it makes life that bit easier when your battling for space at home! The seat reclines to 3 positions and is adjustable including both forward facing and rearward facing seat modes, meaning baby can look at mummy from 6 months and outwards from 12 months! The most impressive aspect of the seat unit and fold mechanism is that the Strawberry folds with seat unit attached facing either direction and in whichever recline position - an absolute marvel to other mums as I collapse the chassis and throw in the boot as if I've performed some magic trick! More impressive still, the Strawberry features a "memory" aspect which allows the chassis and seat to automatically return to whatever position it was in prior to folding! Pushing the Strawberry is a dream, as its aluminium chassis is very lightweight; it's wheels are low profile and durable, as well as having no puncture cushioned rear tyres. It wheels can be swivelling or lockable, making it very easy to manoeuvre. It also has a soft touch comfy grip handle which is adjustable to 5 positions meaning it's perfect for both small and tall parents! It has a detachable bumper bar making it easy to get my little one in and out as well as an adjustable hood so it can adapt as he grows. One of my favorite features is the under seat storage compartment, cutely named the punnet, in which I keep the rain-cover and other bits and bobs which means that plenty of room is left in the already large shopping basket! It comes in a variety of colors - we have the Assam (black) flavor but it also comes in Elderberry (purple), Pomegranate (red) and Earl Grey with additional accessories, like the footmuff that I can't wait to get hold of! It is with the fabrics, however, that iCandy display some of it's greatest attention to quality, as they are beautiful soft-touch fleecey materiel that, in this cold winter, are proving a God-send. My DD looks so comfy and snug and makes the wait and the hype so worth it! Five stars and thumbs up from me.
