I signed up to a free trial and cancelled before the end of the trial because I didn't rate their products. I have the cancellation Email, however they still charged me for the month.

I have used WPMUDEV Professional for one year and I have been left exasperated by their incredibly bad service. They have a couple of great plugins, they also offer themes which for me look awful, but that's not a compliant, because I wasn't after themes from them. The main reason to subscribe to their services, in my opinion, is the prospect and promise of a support facility for when your WordPress website goes wrong. But unfortunately, that's where they really go wrong too because the service they offer is truly awful. I've had several instances where I've required assistance including two emergency situations where they really let me down. To explain further, imagine you have a really important fault with your website that needs to be fixed fast because your website users are really affected and complaining to you constantly via email. You raise a support issue with WPMUDEV and you hear nothing for 24 hours. After that 24 hours someone comes back to you with a question - you answer it immediately but it's another 24 hours before they respond with another question. If this is what you are looking for in a paid support service, then you will be happy, otherwise, you would get almost the same support from the Wordpress Support forums for free. The only and important difference I should point out is WPMU DEV can log in to your website to investigate problems, they'll just take as long as they like to get around to it. The concept of what they proffer is compelling from the support perspective but the service level they provide is simply dire. They offer you no turnaround times, no guarantee by when someone will respond to you. My hosting company 'Siteground' (whom I couldn't recommend enough) resolved all of the issues that WPMUDEV didn't promptly. Believe me, I am not one of those unreasonable and incredibly difficult customers that demand perfection in my suppliers, no one can be perfect, but these guys are really, really awful. I almost never write reviews either but I felt compelled because I found so many positive reviews when I was considering buying WPMUDEV's services that just can't right because their service has been bad so many times. I suspect that where and why they go wrong is they don't employ many people directly, I think what they do is pay people on a freelance basis, like a kind of volunteer community. But their paid freelance staff lack structure, hence the poor service levels. I really recommend not using this company.

I've been a member of WPMUDev since 2009 when resources for multi-user/multi-site elements of WP on the Internet were relatively few and far between. At the time, this scarcity made WPMUDev's offerings a goldmine, with resources to answer most of what you needed (making it enough reason alone to be a member), and especially because there was finally someone who addressed the very needs of users like me who needed multi-user/multi-site capabilities for blog networks. Times have since changed, and while blogs-- in their traditional role-- have evolved with the times along with other trends (social media, mobile, etc.), WPMUDev continued coming out with products that showed they had a pulse on its users' needs, especially those who wanted to avail of powerful capabilities that were beyond the requirements of regular WP users (such as multi-db capabilities similar to that as used in WP.com, pro-sites, job boards and a host of others, all of them premium/pro versions when you are a paid member). I can't emphasize this enough in how they provided this to members based off of their own experiences and sites. From there, they would discontinue support for older products but would quickly replace them with superior ones (just as the old theme packs gave way to Upfront-based themes), continually updated products and kept the wonderful machine going. Indeed, many of its product categories are served by other developers/competitors/competing products, and WPMUDev sometimes gets dissed when compared to some products, especially that these are paid. But what people don't realize is that although WPMUDev takes all these seriously and continues to update and improve their wares, much of its appeal is how they either provide products that are either unavailable elsewhere ( And most of all, they provide this in a premium package that is coherent and consolidated. There are products that are simply perfect, and some products that are unavailable (in a polished manner without needing more engineers to install) elsewhere. What few functionality/plugins that many might count as second or third when compared to competing products from companies that are focused solely on that singular product, WPMUDev still shines because Just to cite one example, MarketPress is not as popular as WooCommerce for example, but it's a great product and is multi-user! (WooCommerce is not, it's still single-user even until now.) Even in these, WPMUDev products are generally in the top three, between our own experience as well as our clients and those of others. This does not even include the friendly support and community that I don't even need to include here, lest this review get too long. Therefore, while having one or two "perfect" products (or as near to it as can be defined, especially in terms of your particular needs) would have been enough to garner five stars, WPMUDev shines with multiple dozens of stellar products in their multitudes. There are many, and where relevant, they get continual updates, making what is already a great deal even better, and cementing this reviewer's loyalty for a long, long time to come.

Backing up your site in a couple of clicks with snapshot is about the easiest WP back up tool I have found. Wordpress, as said here before, is possibility the number one content system around. It can be as simple or complex as you need it to be. Adding functionality and diversity to that is exactly what WPMUdev do best. You might find the subscription membership costs seem comparatively higher than expected. But trust me, when you take into account the number of products available with the features and service you get it is worth it. On a closing note I can't complete without mentioning the superb support. If you've been frustrated with lax support from other web services providers before you'll be amazed at the support you get here. The community atmosphere makes it seem like your buddy has stepped in and taken the pressure off. The support you get is generally fast and the level of knowledge unsurpassed. I have dealt with lots of company's over the years when it comes to building websites WPMU by far is the best one out there. I had a case where I could not get mulitsite to work no matter what I did. I knew it had worked before as I had another site set up that way. But no matter what I did I could not get the new site to work. There customer service took that time to go to my site and review it and figure out what I had done wrong. Come to find out it was one little thing that I was forgetting to do. I signed up for the WPMUDEV subscription to get access to a few of their useful plugins. (Mainly Appointments+ ...it's a very feature-rich and useful plugin!) I was thoroughly satisfied with the functionality of the plugins. User friendly interface that I can trust to use on clients' sites. I'm not really thrilled with the WPMUDEV dashboard, but since you don't need it to use the plugins, I can skip it with no worries. No issues so far with comparability for other plugins/functionality on Wordpress. I used the forum and contact-us features to get questions answered, and was pleasantly surprised at the prompt and courteous reply. Highly satisfied!!
