I began my MMO experience with Ultima Online, played LOTRO and wound up trying SWTOR because of LOTRO friends. My overall experience was mixed and the game didn't seem worth paying the subscription price. The gameplay is improved over other games and it was an enhanced feeling. Gone was the grinding that LOTRO forced on you. The storlines for each class and faction was interesting...the first time. If you are levelling up alts and in a hurry, you can't skip going through the stories again. It seems to slow down the pace with having to rewatch an old storyline. You can make choices of actions in the story to change whether you wish to go dark side or light side. I'm not sure what difference it makes. As you gain higher levels, you still aggro low level mobs. It kind of sucks if you're racing through a low level area and have to deal with a train, especially if it prevents you from performing an action because you're in combat. There's a lot of people online. SO, if you're interested in socializing and having a lot of partners, no worry there. The wait times to enter servers have dropped drastically since launch. Good news there. There is a guild system. Everquest II had the best guild system with guild banks and news on what other guild members have done. I wonder why no other MMO's have copied it. I miss that greatly. My overall dissatisfaction is that it just doesn't hold my interest. That's a personal opinion and others may feel different. I didn't review the PVP because I didn't get to that point.
