“Poor Poor company”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 20/03/2012

Ordered a ride on car through KGB in December for a Christmas present. Now in March and still not received it. At first the didn't give the authorization code so it couldn't be ordered but when I finally got a valid one and ordered it and paid P&P we haven't heard anything since. Emailed numerous times and not had a reply phoned too many times to mention and not got through. Tried to phone again today midday to hear the message we are now closed. Joke of a firm with the poorest customer service i have ever come across. Just want my money back now. I am currently going through trading standards. I honestly cannot believe that KGB Deals have anything to do with this company, do they not research them at all before they use them?

I know it's really late to reply to this now and I hope you got your money back, but I had a similar problem with a KGB deal and after numerous emails, eventually wrote on KGB's Facebook wall stating my disgust, and - surprise surprise - got my money back instantly.

Purchased an electric car from The Gadgetologists via a KGB deal for my grandson's birthday. Of course they collected the money £ 99,- within a few days, but despite dozens of email, they don't deliver and don't reply to emails. They are a bunch of web criminals. So.... Never ever buy a thing from that Internet robbers.

I too used a KGB deal voucher and bought an electric car in November 2011 for Chritmas. The £99 was taken straight away - but now, in FEb 2012, there's still no sign. No one answers the phone, the mail replies, at best are aotomated. It's disgusting. Think I will also now contact trading standards - as KBG are also terrible at getting in touch with.

“ORDERED IN NOV 11 - STILL AWAITING ITEM”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 26/01/2012

Ordered a toy ferrari through kgb deals in november. Ordered the item early December for a Christmas present. Nothing received so I have sent numerous emails - WITH NO RESPONSE. Their phone number doesn't even ring it goes through to a voicemail where I have left about 5 messages. I have also emailed about 5 times and no response. Finally had an email from KGB deals who said they will look into it for me. All I want is my money back.....I only wanted the item for Christmas and I don't even want to deal with 'The Gadgetologists' who I personally think are frauds as reading the other reviews the items that are actually delivered are faulty!!!

This corespondent's experience exactly mirrors my own. Not only do they fail to respond to emails, they delete them 'unread' (I put a 'read receipt' on my last message).
How are they allowed to get away with this? Does anyone out there know how to contact one of the company directors direct?

I received my purchase in time for Christmas but it was faulty and since then I have emailed them expressing my disappointment and I even having told them I had bought it for my special needs son, there has still been no resolve.

Really fed up and I just want my money back!

WOW i cannot believe you have proof that they deleted your email! Guess what.....my item suddenley turned up last week...only 2 months late...and the item is tiny and rubbish but the thought of sending it back and trying to get my money back is too much effort.....it took them 2 months to send me my item...let alone refunding! AWFUL company and will not EVER order from them again....and probably not from KGB deal either....maybe we should try and contact someone from KGB? Surely they don't want to be associated with a company like this?!

“Ordered on 1st Nov 2011 still not received and now...”

written by marinamill on 20/01/2012

This company should be shut down. I ordered the ride on car through KGB deals on 1st November 2011 as a Christmas present for my Grandson. I have had no joy with the Gadgetologists even though I have emailed them and phoned them numerous times. KGB (who don't have a contact phone number) emailed me on 8th January and said because of the bad service that they would refund my money which I paid through paypal and they would get the Gadgetologists to refund my postage. It's now the 20th January and I'm still waiting. My poor Grandson still doesn't have his Christmas present because until I'm refunded I can't buy him something else. This has been the worst company I have tried to deal with.

“18 month old boys Christmas ruined”

★☆☆☆☆

written by tammie0906 on 13/01/2012

Hi All I too had the same issue. I was fortunate enough to receive the car however when received, the wing mirrors were loose, seat was not able to fitted correctly and the remote control was broken. It was overlooked as we only built it on christmas eve and had no time for a new one. After the initial hour of my son playing with the car, the sound went off and there was no music at all. Although we could still control with the remote control. No fun with no gadgets for my son who is only 18 months old. I have tried to contact the so called Gadgetologists every day since boxing day with no joy. I too get the automated message. One of the times I called, I managed to leave a message but I have never been able to again. I also emailed over 10 times asking for a replacement with no response. I then tried to get my money back through paypal, however I logged the claim with them 46 days after I paid and you need to raise disputes 45 days after so I missed the cut off with one day. Paypal cannot give me my money back but can of course lodge the complaint against the sellers paypal account and if they receive enough of the same complaints, they will investigate further so I urge anyone who has paid with paypal to contact them to log a dispute. I then contacted my bank who said I am covered by visa IF I can get a letter from a company who sells the same cars saying the car is faulty. I spent 3 hours calling companies who are not willing to put my name to anything. I am waiting on my bank confirming what the next stages are. One of the companies I spoke to actually sells the car for £96.99 with free delivery and a kids driver pack inc MOT cert, registration docs, personalised number plates, driving license etc. He has kindly offered to provide me with some instructions on how I may fix the car but that wont get my money back. The company is a joke and KGB deals should be checking company crudentials before accepting to work with them. If they had checked the address, they would have been alerted of a fraudulent company. I use KGB deals on a regular basis and will certainly never be using them again. I have also alerted my friends and family and my 500 facebook friends of the scam. My sons proper first christmas was ruined by these fraudsters!!!!

“What a joke, still waiting 4 code 2 be reset”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Angry31 on 09/01/2012

I bought a kgb deals voucher for the ride on porsche car on the 2nd of december 2011, i tried to consume it a week later and it said that the voucher is invalid, i contacted the gadgitologist and kgb via email, I also tried calling the gadgetologist on numerous occasions and was constantly on hold to number 08455 610 099 saying im first in the que and next in the que only to go through to a voicemail box which is full ( did manage 2 leave a message on the first attempt). I had a response from kgb 2 days later and a response from the gadgetologist a week later informing me that they have reset my code, but again trying to make the order it says that the voucher has been used, and once again im emailing and phoning , its my sons birthday this month and still have had no response from these crooks, when googled the adress of the gadgetologist which i get of there customer service part from there website it comes up as a beauty salon, try it google there address The Gadgetologists 136 Wandsworth Bridge Road Fulham London SW6 2UL and you will get this info The Body Sanctuary, Health & Beauty Spa 136 Wandsworth Bridge Road, Fulham, London SW6 2UL then try googling there number and you will get this info and more City Quads - Bikerloans Motorcycle Serviceswww.bikerloans.co.uk/motorcycle-services_details.php?ContentID...Cached You +1'd this publicly. If you would like to get listed in the Motorbike ... this company sells parts and is a hoax like the gadgetologist! see it seems that those who bought the voucher in november did actually get a porsche style car but seems that they had difficulty and that they were faulty, then decembers vouchers seem 2 have ripped everyone off! kgb are also not been very responsive and its becoming a joke, i want a full refund and money back for the amount of phonecalls i have made!

“oh dear...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 06/01/2012

i purchased a voucher from KGB for a kids electric style porsche from gadgetologists not only has £99 been taken from my account by KGB but also £344.50 by gadgetologists. I have left numerous emails to both companies only recieving one reply from KGB - which was useless. I have also tried to contact both companies by telephone and no one has been available and yes i too had the pre recorded message from gadgetologists stating to leave a message but when you try to do so their inbox is full and cannot accept any more messages. I will not be using or recommending either of these companies again. As a single mum of two just after christmas any help in trying to resolve this matter would be greatly appreciated ie alternative contact numbers.

“Christmas Ruined.....”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 23/12/2011

If you saw advert for a £350 child's electric car for £99 with delivery before Christmas you'd be tempted right? Well, I was too but as they say, if an offer looks to good to be true it probably is! We initially ordered a red Veyron style electric car for my 18 month son for Christmas from thegadgetologists.co.uk – the offer was through KGB and the blurb on the site made this look like a dream come true for any child. We placed an order straight away on the 6th November 2011 and then we waited….. And we waited…. And we waited… Christmas was fast approaching so we decided to chase up our order. After countless calls we never got through to a customer services rep at thegadgetologists.co.uk. The automated system tells you how many there are in the queue and how long it will be before you are answered but when it’s your turn the phone just rings and goes through to answer phone and says ‘the person your require is away from their desk, please leave a message’. So, we tried e-mail – again no response. Finally, I received an e-mail, “great!” I thought a notification of shipping! Think again! Unfortunately the red Veyron was out of stock so we had to choose from another type – we opted for the black Porchese and the wait process started again. One week before Christmas the car did arrive so after my son toddled off to bed I opened the box and started to build the vehicle. First thing to note was the condition of the bodywork- it was scuffed and scratched and the black paint was grey in places and patchy. It looked 2nd hand to me. The build went ok until I noticed loose wires hanging from beneath the steering column – alarm bells started ringing – something is obviously not going to work! After a full test I discovered the engine sounds, horn etc did not work. For saying this toy was advertised as £350 it barely worth the £99 we paid for it. Ok, so how do you return a product to a company that needs to send you a returns form via e-mail but does not answer their e-mail? We e-mailed, we called but nothing. We complained to KGB and their response was ‘we are aware of the number of issues relating to this retailer and we are investigating further’. Yes, KGB, you may be doing this but you’re also still selling vouchers for other cars from this company? We can’t even return the damn thing as we can’t get a returns form! So, as it stands we have a poorly manufactured toy car that looks like it’s done the 24 LeMans with no sound and no way of knowing if we’re going to get a replacement. Thanks thegadgetologists.co.uk for ruining our little boy’s Christmas and thanks KGB you sharks for selling vouchers for a company you know you have issues with. Those testimonials look great on the thegadgetologists.co.uk website but as we all know they should be taken with a pinch of salt, I could sit writing testimonials for my own business all day – it would appear that this is what they have done. A quote from their site reads - ‘Throughout this growth our ethos has always been maintained – to sell a great range of gadgets, with a fun and friendly approach, whilst maintaining a strong customer focused service’. Yes and the moon is made of green cheese. I’ve never been one to complain but the fact my son will go without his main Christmas present has fuelled me to take this further. BBC’s Watchdog have been notified and every other review site in the land will have this review on it. A nice resolution would be a refund or a replacement but I feel there’s more chance of Santa elves making us a new one as the staff at thegadgetologists.co.uk seem to be as elusive as Santa himself. Be warned – thegadgetologists.co.uk – the only ‘ology’ they have is in bad customer service and selling poor quality products. Merry Christmas you sharks!

we are having the same difficulty with a red porsche we bought for our grandson who was very disappointed on Christmas morning. I have e-mailed and phoned countless times to no avail. I, too, am about to contact KGB deals to see what they are doing about this situation. we are pensioners abnd having had to buy something else for our grandson, we cannot afford to be out of pocket to this extent. It's disgraceful!

Just read your story and its like reading our christmas all over again, I've tried and tried to get in touch with no joy. We even considered given the car to a children's home or charity so at least someone could enjoy it but to be honest having looked at the poor quality and the fact it doesn't even move I won't insult them. I too will go onto watchdog website and lets hope this gets picked up so others don't have the same bad experience.

As below.. I think the more we complain and refer this to Watchdog the higher the likelihood of sorting this out. We have continually attempted to contact both firms by telephone with no luck. Numerous emails have been sent.. once again no luck. This is customer service at its worst. All we want is for them to collect the car and refund the money.
