“Moths in the litter”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 226Vance on 03/05/2017

I tried this litter when my cat started to develop allergies to the Tidy Cat that I had used for literally all of her life. This litter clumps well, and is great with odor control. I did find, much to my dismay, that every bag of it I purchased apparently had moth's eggs included, at no extra charge. I believe the moths I am dealing with are called "Wheat Moths", and they are proving to be rather challenging to get rid of. I have not used this product for over a year, and I still have them pathetically struggling to fly around my apartment. I have never had a problem with moth's in the past, and if I really didn't think they were included within this product, I certainly would not have spent any time sharing my experience with you. Just be advised that you may receive these little invaders when you purchase this product.

Since I started using this moth infested cat litter, I too have had an extreme problem with tiny moths. I’m currently experiencing a horrendous invasion of dozens & dozens of tiny moths flying in every room. Now they’re laying more eggs in my clothes & laundry closets. I’m finding them in my velvet furniture & furnace filters as well.
When I’d cut a bag open, moths would fly out so I tried leaving the bags outside in the direct hot sun for 3 weeks before cutting them open to use the litter but it will not kill all the eggs. It only takes a couple moths to lay more eggs inside your home so it’s not a solution.
Killing the tiny flying moths with your hands is nearly impossible since they have an extraordinary ability to navigate away from being smashed by hands. The only way is to spritz each moth you see flying with a can of bug killer. I’ve killed hundreds of moths. To say I’m upset over this months long invasion is an understatement.

I learned recently that you can kill moth eggs in the microwave on high for 4 minutes. Really ?? Well, I’m off to buy a better cat litter !!!
