The service at Glasses Direct was incredibly smooth and removed my sceptcism with regards to shopping online for prescription glasses.

Unfortunately I didn't buy it from them and the main reason was that although they offer a very nice Home Trial service (try before you buy it), the vast majority of the frames I liked couldn't be added to the hometrial order.

Maybe because they are more expensive and all that, but this was a bit disappointing if I am honest.

I did order a hometrial anyway but I knew that what I wanted wasn't in that bundle.

Nevertheless the service was great and I got the glasses in 2 working days.

By that point I warmed up to the idea of getting my glasses online and then found a competitor that offered the home trial in its full range. Their service wasn't as good as Glasses Direct's but I didn't feel confident to buy a frame without putting it on first.

  • I didn't buy it in the end but the prices for the items I was contemplating were competitive.
