Had an eye test in Boots, Long Causeway Peterborough. Optician was good. I ordered a pair each of reading and long distance specs. As I was leaving the optician asked if I had considered contact lenses so I made an appointment for a contact lens test.
Second appointment with contact lens specialist
Third appointment to pick up trial lenses and be shown how to use
Fourth appointment with lens specialist to check all ok, he handed me over to one of the assistants to sign me up for the scheme and to place order for first supply of lenses
Fifth appointment to pick up lenses - I pointed out the right eye was wrong prescription.
The person who had placed the order eventually came to the counter and said she had picked up the incorrect number from prescription and that they would have to re order - offered to send to me (you usually have to collect first batch). She did not offer a word of apology
Sixth appointment to collect correct lenses.
Not one single person apologised.
Over the course of a couple of months I made 6 x 44 mile round trips specifically to Boots Opticians, Peterborough plus parking charges. On no occasion did anyone even recognise me. What a miserable, unhappy, unfriendly, unwelcoming shop. Boots you should be ashamed! Give you staff some desperately needed customer care training asap. What a terrible reputation you are getting.
