“How are these still open?”

written by on 23/12/2016

Worst company in my opinion and i haven't even got a car finance with them , did one enquiry around ... 7/8 months ago ,worst idea ever, after receiving a silly amount of calls per day from them (6/7) i told them to remove my details from their system and was told it had been done ... guess what ? i'm still getting calls today and its not like i haven't told them again and again to remove my details, . The very latest call was this month around the 7th in which i was assured yet again (7th maybe 8th time) that my details had been removed but i got another call today. Looking online and seeing all the bad reviews on facebook and on this website I am shocked they are not being investigated.

I agree wholeheartedly - They constantly call and text me with all sorts of promises. If they told me it went dark at night, I would feel the need to check - they are total liars, they have no morals, they don't care about customers. I too told t hem to take my details off their system - only for the reply from their agent "we can't have that then" before they hung up on me. Pig ignorant people preying on those that are less fortunate with no qualms about ripping them off. I was lucky, I paid the finance and dumped the car on the finance company. Why they think I would buy another from them astounds me!

Bought a car on 25/10/16 they are meant to be paying the remaining finance off on old car which we part exchanged to date this has not been done disputed phoning them pretty much every day and being lied to constantly, the car still legally belongs to the old finance company who obviously wants balance settling, this is gonna hit my credit rating, have gone to financial ombudsman and intend to fight them all the way they've picked the wrong person to try and rip off this time!! WARNING COMPANY TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Hello there,

Unfortunately since you haven't provided your name and I don't know who you are exactly, I am unable to comment back to you with a personal response. However, there are a number of genuine reasons that a customer will be declined on site, which is out of the hands of Fowlers Finance. For example, if a customer hasn't declared their income or been dishonest about their income, then the original approval based on information given, then becomes a decline.

Secondly, if you didn't purchase a car or were declined for finance and didn't take a vehicle, then I fail to see how we have "ripped you off" or only care as long as we "get your money". I can understand that you are upset at not being approved for finance with ourselves, but posting slanderous and false statements online isn't going to help matters.

If I can assist in any other way or you wish to make a formal complaint, feel free to e-mail me and I will be happy to help.

Thanks

I bought a car on 20th january 2015.It had so many problems the brakes failed on way home got some work done myself and tried to get money back for repairs but nothing. Remember i bought car in january and watchdog was on in june time i think and i wish i knew then what i know now i would never of gone there.I fought the finance company and even went to financial ombudsman they sent an inspector out to view car in decemeber nearly a year later and he found all the problems and more with car but said he didnt have any way of knowing when it was done it could of been when i got car or even the day before so the ombudsman told me well you lose.I contatced finance company again and told them to take car away which they did 2 months later and now i have a nearly 6k bill and i paid 2500 off the car as ombudsman said i had to keep paying. All in all DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE.You are risking your money and most of all your lives in the cars they sell as most are dangerous and yes they buy from auction. If anyone is interetsed do a google search for fowlers bbc watchdog and you will what these guys are.I really hope this helps

The finance company called "the car finance company" who are the finance company for fowlers are in on it.When i was contacting them regarding the issues they had a form and the customer service person told me the first question on the form is "IS THIS A FOWLERS CAR".What does this tell you about the company i bought the car january 2015 its now nearly November 2016 and they still still with the company.I even asked them why they deal with them with all of the bad publicity and the answer was they have a high turn over of cars financed with them which is good for the company.Seriously not good practice at all.

“What Cars ????”

written by CadenPeters359 on 12/10/2016

Having been turned down for credit elsewhere, I found this company & got accepted for finance (just over £3000, enough for a varied choice on their website). The staff over the phone were friendly, all good so far.... The time came to look at the car stock on their website & choose some that were suitable. So I made a list of several cars as there were loads to choose from & rang up with the details. How exciting! No, they were gone. Ahh shame, so I look again, call back up with new car details from their website. Guess what? Gone! This goes on for days, with Fowlers offering the cars that they have left (Astra mainly). Nothing wrong with Astra, just not what I want to pay for. Id rather a smaller car. I realise my options are limited because of adverse credit, but where are all of these cars that they offer, & why are you only offered a certain car? It seems their website is fake ? Shame, as I was looking forward to getting a better car.

Hello there,

In regards to our website, it is only a minor selection of the stock that we have, however, the vehicles on there are all in stock. 'In Stock' refers to the car being on one of our forecourts or in our prep center, although in some instances a customer may have RESERVED the vehicle for purchase. Until the customer who has reserved the car signs the paperwork and drives the car away, the vehicle will remain on the website, hence the reason some of the vehicles you wanted may have already been already reserved.

I hope this clears things up for you.

Thanks

What would clear things up for a lot of your very unhappy customers is if you stopped treating them like second class citizens, fobbing them off with junk cars then having no aftersales support or service as well as staff manning the phones that are ignorant and arrogant. I don't know, perhaps you could try being honest and treating people fairly.....?

I am very sorry to hear that you are having problems and I wish to assist you in sorting this as a matter of urgency. If you could e-mail me with your name and the registration of your vehicle I can get to work on this for you. If you could also list the representitives you have previously spoken to, as well as the person who has given you a number for a family solicitor (also, that phone if you still have it) I can investigate why you have been given this number.

Hope to hear from you soon, thanks, Danny.

I strongly suspect that it isn't even a real person and even if it is, you shouldn't expect any help as you are unlikely to get any!

Bought a car from them, px my old car for a zafira, Fowlers finance told me that they would clear my focus finance, this was November 2015 and to date my focus finance still hasn't been cleared even though they have sold on my old car, I have phoned them a number of times about this and got promised it would be paid, so I withheld payments and now they don't see what the problem is and going to take my arrears further and won't pay my old finance unless my arrears are cleared immediately, and use very nasty bully boy tactics... Well I have now taken things further....I advice no one to use this tin pot company!!!

Hi there,

I am sorry to hear about the issues you have been experiencing. If you can e-mail me with your name and registration of car I can look into this for you and hopefully get things sorted. I will also need the registration of the car that you part-exchanged and the finance company that was with. “#fowlersfinance the worst car dealer in #britain Avoid...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by CarleighCochran on 29/09/2016

Watch the #bbc #watchdog and see if my story has any similarities, or perhaps you got a similar story. So I won't bore you to death, I have broken down into parts as I have multiple issues with them. Still going on today 27th of September 2016. This is what I wrote to #ombudsman to help me return the car back and help me end the hire purchase agreement. Searched for the finance I have searched for companies who finance for poor credit history. My credit history wasn’t the best and also I have recently become self-employed working as a consultant through my recent opened limited company. I expected to pay a higher interest but of a roadworthy second hand not too old car. To get me through the first year and help rebuild my credit. Found the finance Found Fowlersfinance.com via the Google Adwords on the search term of finance for bad credit history. Filled in the web form and got a call from the sales representative. The nearest place for me to go was in Sheffield, which is away from Leeds, after talking with the sales rep we arranged a day to go and have a look in a car but asked if it is likely to actually get the finance as I did not want to go down there and lose a day of work as being self-employed if I don’t work I don’t get paid. Choose the car The first trip was a waste of time. No car was available. I asked for an estate car. He pushed for Vauxhall Insignia. Finance was accepted. Collected the car Collected the car on 12th of April. Car collected with dents, scratches and marks on both driver and passenger's sides. Promised have it repaired. Since I had limited option I accepted, had the collection date arranged and when I got there car was dirt and back tires was way off the legal limits, straight away he offered to replace, I accepted, he replaced with second-hand tires but in better shape and within the legal range. Over the phone, only verbally he said the car had Bluetooth and sat nav, but since I have not got this in writing I can not argue about that, but it adds up to how they handle the sales further down the story. First Breakdown - Battery 12 days later, after the collection of the car on 24th of April car would not start. Asked breakdown to help start the engine. It was the batteries. Contacted the sales rep and he wasn’t available. Spoke with a lady who advised to go and purchase a new battery, send an email with the receipt and a full refund would be given. Send an email to confirm and to have a trail. Advised sales rep that I have contacted him earlier and what she has said and he has confirmed to do what she has advised me. Then, after purchased the battery and it had it fitted, a test was carried out and found that the alternator is faulty as well. And it is advisable to change as soon as possible. Knowing that sales rep wasn’t available I called the after sales/warranty and was advised to go and get a quote from a local garage as the nearest warranty was too far away. Was advised not to use Halfords for the battery, but at this point, since two people have advised me to buy and have not specified from where to and not to buy I did not think it was such a big deal. Aftersales refuses to refund/pay for the battery. 3 days without using the car. Second Breakdown - Alternator They have however agreed to fix the alternator. I took the car to a local garage and after so much discussion as Fowler's advised the garage to fix with a second-hand part and not a new part. I was told if I wanted I had two options, Fowlers would pick up the car and take down to their garage and fix the car. But judging for what fowlers has proposed to the garage guys I did not think it would be such of a good idea. Alternatively, they asked me to add £60 to the bill and they would pay for the fix using a new part instead from my local garage. I have agreed as I thought it was better this way since I would not know what part they would replace when they have the car with them. In the meantime tried several times to arrange to have the scratches and dents fixed. Could not get an agreed date. 7 days without using the car. Third Breakdown - Steering Wheel Hydraulics 6th of June I contacted fowlers finance again due to a noise in the steering wheel. Steering wheel pipe that carries the oil has bursten and all the oil has been drained. Claimed to be fixed but still making noises. Unable to get a good alignment on front wheels. A flapping noise coming from the front wheels. As if something was stuck to the wheel but not visible enough to find out what it is. I have had it aligned two times in two weeks, spent another £50, but drive shakes at 65 Mh. Got a quote from a local garage. After Sales/Warranty refuses to accept the work. Offered to collect the car and take down to their own mechanics. At this point, I asked to get it collected as I wished them to carry out the body work promised since I bought the car. I asked to send me a courtesy car. Fowlers refused to send me a courtesy car. I had to rent a car for this period. After proved the promise of the body work they agreed to carry out both works, mechanic and body work. Car returned without the body work done. Claimed the steering wheel was fixed, but still making noises. I have taken the car to the Vauxhall services and asked for a full report. I had to pay for the diagnosis a total of £108 The car still presenting the steering wheel rack issue, plus radiator is leaking. Spent £100 Took the car to Evan Hal Shawn to get the body work quote. Fowlers refused to approve the quote. Still scratches and dents not fixed. I have got a quote, again advised by fowlers and I had to pay for the quote a total value of £48 I agreed on the collection and had to pay £50 for the garage diagnosis. 21 days without the car. Fourth Breakdown - Re-fixing Steering Wheel Hydraulics Opened a case in Ombudsman. Aftersales then offered collection and a courtesy car to fix all the issues and put things right. After 4 weeks, they have replaced the steering wheel rack and claimed that carried out a full check with Vauxhall and both believes there is no problem with the car. Car returned, still making a rust noise when steering is operated, all the times. The flapping noise still persisting, they claim that it does not exist, and they could not find what the issue is, but still making the noise. The body work, they claim that due to the time frame imposed by ombudsman they could not get the body work done and they asked me if I can get a quote in a local body work dealer and they will pay for it. I regrettably accepted as it was 4 weeks without the car but I have done it before, spend money getting the quote and they refused to pay for it. Not sure if they will do it this time. I don’t believe they have carried out any other fixes or perhaps they have only covered the basics to earn more time or to simply see if I would let it go, but the truth is, I won’t. The car still making noises in the steering wheel. The car still making the flapping noise. Not sure if the radiator is fixed as there’s no acknowledgement of it, completely ignored. The car still not getting balance. It shakes over 65 miles an hour. 28 days without the car. Fifth Breakdown - EGR Valve By then, my wife is 39 weeks pregnant and I’m worried I will have a transportation at my disposal when I’m paying for it. I know I could get a taxi, get a friend to give us a lift if we need but since I’m paying, a lot of money, for a car, I would expect it would be fit for purpose. The steering wheel still making noises. I took the car to carry out the standard services, since is my duty to get it done, such as change oil, air filter, oil filter, have it check for any other potential issue, being proactive really. Soon as I got the car, I got this done. I thought, I’m ready to complete the final tasks on the weekend and wait for the due date, but on the first trip, the car stops working in the middle of the main busy road with my pregnant wife and my mother who came over to stay with us and help us with the baby. I called breakdown services and they tailed me to my local garage. Obviously, the issue has nothing to do with the services. Dropped the car on Saturday 17/09/2016. Local garage investigated. Gave the quote. EGR valve was broken. £300 to fix. Monday spoke with the aftersales and asked them to help me getting this fixed as soon as possible as I need the car. Waited until last Saturday 24/09/2016. On Saturday after sending emails and getting no response, I phoned multiple numbers, it rings, a lot, but I after insisting I managed to get through to the after sales who advised that I would have to wait until Monday to get someone to pay the invoice so I could pick up the car from the garage. I felt that I had already waited for too long and since I need the car due to my wife is giving birth at any moment I said I wanted the car on that day and I was walking towards the garage. He then advised the only option would be that I pay for the invoice and on Monday 26th of September 2016, I would get the refund for the invoice paid. I asked to send me an email as historically I would not trust just his words, I wanted in writing, waited, he wrote the email. I have then paid the invoice and sent a screenshot of the invoice and I have not received any acknowledgement neither from him or the other contacts involved in the conversation. I have not had anything refunded on Monday neither on Tuesday, today’s date (27th of September 2016). 7 days without the car. I got the car, and I can confirm that the car is shaking when you get on near 70 miles an hour. The rusty noise when steering, well, all the times. I have not had any acknowledgement of the radiator since I have had the report from Vauxhall. What are my conclusions? This company is not reliable and considering all the multiple issues, the awkwardness to get things done and being lied about fixes that have not been fixed. From the beginning, I feel that I have been pushed to the side to accept the circumstance when all I wanted is to be able to have a mean of transportation. I understand my credit is not in perfect conditions and I expected to pay a higher APR for it and not have a broken unreliable car. I feel that I have to be given something not fit for purpose and paying a very high price for it. How do I wish things to put right? I want to return the car and have the hire purchase ended as soon as possible without any penalties or fees of any kind so I can get on with my life as far away as possible from any involvement with this company as I don’t feel I have been treated in fairness besides paying a very high price for a useless good. Reputation Just do a simple search online for the company, its owner and watch the watchdog video available online to see what sort of deal they do make. It is trued in every way as I am the true proof of being dealt with the unfair manner in which is part of their culture among all the employees, from the top head leader all the way down to everyone that I had contact with. What next? I hope I get your help to lease between myself, Fowlers and the sister company The car finance company who I have the hire agreement within my favour as I am the only one losing out with a useless car. From here I will only escalate until I get the result that I believe is what I deserve for being mistreated. They have got away with this for far too long.

Mate, this company are just awful. Their sales people and aftersales people appear to be void of any moral standards. You need to take this up with someone like Trading Standards/Consumer Direct. I have had a very similar experience, in fact the car I got was so faulty, it crashed off the road when cornering - not speeding - it was the rear suspension and front suspension that was at fault and their enhanced, or whatever term they use, warranty was worth nothing. What it needs is for everyone that has left a bad review from a horrible experience to get together and try and speak to someone that can take action on our behalf. Failing that all we can do is ensure we leave honest reviews that tell it as it is. I hope you get sorted matey, I really do. No one should be treated like that. The best of luck to you.

Firstly the staff at the Bristol branch are really good!! It's the after sales care that let's fowlers down. I Have had to take my car to two different garages the first garage would not release my car until they had payment which took 2 days so I had to wait even though the car was ready THIS WAS BECAUSE OF PREVIOUS issues with them getting payment!!Then it went into another garage, again the quote was authorised by after sales team, difference this time I had to pay for the work and was assured I would be reimbursed, received an email a week ago saying the money would be in my account which surprise surprise it wasn't I am since been told that there are issues with their company bank account, with over a week !!!! Really ??? I had no courtesy call to tell me this and if there is an issue why not send a cheque.... would I get away with saying there's an issue with my account and I can't make my payments!!!! I think not... So again AFTER SALES SHOCKING! !!

I purchased a mini cooper 58 plate from these in Feb 15 for £6k When i got there i couldn't see anything wrong apart from they lied to the finance company about the mileage. Told them 93k and it had nearly 99k on. After leaving the showroom driving down the motorway I got a flat Tyre, Just one of those things right? I was putting a litre of oil in every week, I thought this was normal after never owning my own car. Took the car to be washed and straight after noticed there was lots of white paint marks (Car is Black) They had obviously covered these up with something before I picked it up!! November last year the clutch went, They wouldn't help and neither would the finance company so i paid 1k for a new clutch. The car still wasn't right, still putting oil in etc. Took it to various garages and they confirmed the engine had gone. The cheapest quote to get it fixed was nearly £3k. he car has since sat on my drive, I've sent a report from the mechanics but they want me to pay 2oo pounds for a "Qualified" person to look at it. I rang both Fowlers & the finance company to come and take the car and refused to pay. The financial Ombudsman is currently dealing with it. I think that the car finance company is partly to blame as if all these people are complaining why do they keep giving Fowlers money!!!

I have had two different lots of work done on my car from 2 different garages. It seems no garage wants to deal with them due to issues with payment. One garage would not release my car until they had the money it was continuous battles with the after sales department. Now I've paid for the second lot of work which fowlers agreed to pay for the work. I was assured the money would be in my account a week ago now and apparently there are issues with their bank accounts which I find incredibly hard to believe . Think I need to wave good bye to my money.

You seem to have a good case with trading standards and the quality sales act !! Look into it..

Bought a vehicle of them 6 weeks ago, vehicle developed a fault with the flywheel the very same day, reported fault to them and was advised to take it to my local garage for a qoute as id bought there so called extended warranty and fowlers refused for the work to be carried out and said they would do it themselves at which point i asked if a courtesy car would be available because they said they would need the car for approx a week to do a 6 hour job? and then tbe excuses start of theres no cars availble etc etc after this went on for weeks i gave them the option to do it with no courtesy car and yet again the excuses started anyhow they have finally done the work and what a joke!! car returnd to me and has coverd around 150 miles in there possesion, mud trampled into both front footwells, my items fro the boot just chucked into the rear of the car when they had NO reason to go in the boot items MISSING from the car. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I HAVE AND DONT BUY FROM FOWLERS FINANCE THERE A JOKE!!! MY ADVICE IF YOU HAVE TO GET A CAR THIS WAY IS DONT GO THROUGH FOWLERS GO DIRECT TO THE CAR FINANCE COMPANY WHO SUPPLY THE FINANCE AND GO TO A DIFFERENT DEALER

Car purchased 28/5/2016 warning light came on 3 weeks later took it to Sheffield as instructed to be told no mechanic in the end it had a diagnostic check which shown a sensor fault light reset and sent us away no repair done. Light came back on it had devolved rear brake noise and steering noise I reported it all bit have been told to ring local garages I did this to be advised that I should get fowlers to take it into one of their workshops as these problems should not have arisen so soon after buying it. Still no joy from fowlers so seeking legal advice and getting rac to do a thorough check on the vehicle as I don't no how safe the car is. The car is a corsa I'm disgusted by the after sales service

Hi there,

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your vehicle. The reason you were asked to get a local quote is because there is no mechanic available to do the work at our Sheffield branch.

Once we have received the quotation for the work, we will liaise with the garage to organise payment. This would ensure the car would be fixed quicker, at no cost to you, rather than bringing it back to Stoke-on-Trent for a repair.

Thanks, Danny.

Well that's a load of waffle !!!!! I had a car last year ! Clutch went within 48 hours , after sales guy told me to take it garage , I got the quote and it was forwarded to Fowlers ! I was called by same after sales chap and he said its authorised get the clutch done.

Clutch was done , then ........ Garage wouldn't release my car no payment !!! 3 days later no Payment and I had to pay up my self. . Guess what never received the money back .

I made sure I got the money back through the finance company , owner needs locking up it a nice smack in the chops

The exact same thing happened me the garage would not release my car.
A week later I had to take the car to another garage. Fowlers authorised the quote but I had to pay and was told fowlers would pay me back. I've been waiting over a week now and apparently there are issues with there bank account. .. I mean really a company unable to access there account for over a week... doubtful !!

The first garage were reluctant to do the work because of dealings with fowlers in the past they don't like to work for them I'm guessing now with the issues I'm having the second garage is the same.

I wouldn't get away with saying there's issues with my bank an unable to make my monthly payments would I ..

Good luck with this ive tried giving my faulty car back after one month, im having hell with them, if it is with finance then you need to speak with the finance company as they technically own the car until you finish paying for it, if it isnt on finance all i can say is good luck your going to need it

Well it is no wonder you want to give it back, they are an awful company. In short, I suspect the only option may be to do what I did. I gave my car back to the finance company under what is called the half rule. In essence, you can hand it back and walk away if you have paid half f the total finance. I wasnt at the half way point so I paid as a one off up to half way and they collect the useless bucket of bolts tomorrow. Thats all I know, my friend, but I wish you luck.

Am just going through the process of getting a Zafira as need a 7 seater due to be a family of 6, in holding out for a diesel as they only have petrol at the minute been waiting 3 weeks now, I had a different worker phone me (not the one who normally deals with me) and he was pushing me to accept the petrol life model which I stuck to my guns and said no, I'm paying so much so I want what I want and he called me ridiculous! I'm still waiting on a diesel but unsure now as I've read a few reviews, but I've poor credit history and am receiving benefits and this company seem to have accepted this. What should I do?

Hi there having owned zafiras since 2000 they are a great car when they are looked after but my experience with Fowlers is terrible they really do push you to take the cheaper 1.6 petrol models and they really are very poorly maintained and there after sales are even worse . Once it goes wrong they pretty much wash there hands of you . Quite honestly i would avoid them or go to the finance company directly and get a car from elsewhere. What ever you decide i wish you the best of luck.

Do not buy from Fowlers, we had a zafira, it was smelling of petrol and gave everyone who travelled in it headaches etc, it was put in a garage of their choosing 2 times and they could find nothing wrong with it. Also never received the documents for it, in the end gave it back to them, they sold it at auctions (ha ha) did not get enough money to pay off the finance on it even though we only had it about 6 weeks, and am still paying the balance of the finance and will be for the forseeable future, and have no car to show for it. DO NOT BUT A CAR FROM THESE.EVER.

There are much better car credit for bad credit companies out there. ...Fowlers shouldn't even be considered. As for the car, don't take it....not even the petrol one! They buy their cars at rock bottom prices from auctions, they are mostly MOT failures, accident cases or write offs. Fowlers will do NO work on it and stick a dodgy MOT on it. They'll also make you pay THEM for tax before you drive away on the promise they'll tax your vehicle that same day.....it NEVER happens! This company preys on people like us with bad credit. They'll rip you off....sell you a death trap (don't forget to think of your babies who are going to be travelling in this car)! Please read ALL the reviews.....you'll hear the same things over and over again. I'm busy compiling a list of other, more reputable, bad credit car finance companies which I'll post on this thread in the very near future. I hope this helps?

IS NOT ALLOWED......BY LAW...to operate or be a part of any other company but he still is and is still going under the guise of Fowlers Car Finance! Rogue Traders have recently done a programme on Fowlers....still yet to be aired on BBC1. Hope this helps?

Tim Fowler who i believe owns Fowlers and other businesses trading as Fowlers.com etc went bankrupt in 2009 along with his companies which went into administration. I was told directly from the financial ombudsman that those businesses and mr fowler were not allowed to trade. I have reported them numerous times for still trading but mostly for ripping people off with there vehicles.

I got a car from Fowlers Finance in July last year. The car came with all the wrong paperwork, the head gasket went within 3 weeks. It hasn't even made it to the first MOT the timing belt snapped the water tank collapsed, bolts snapped off into engine. The coil spring has snapped off abs sensors don't work. It's just one thing after another. Fowlers are so hard to get hold of and they are so rude when you do get through to them. They really couldn't care less about anybody. The cars 2007 corsa and had done 120,000. They are charging me altogether over £6,000 for it over 3 years. I cannot believe how stupid I was to get it. They just fill you with lies to get you to sign the papers. They told me it would only be over 18 months then they would change the car and give me a better one a lot cheaper. Hah I feel such a fool, biggest mistake of my life. I really don't know what to do. The cars costing me £173 a month and I can't even drive it. What should I do?

Hello sorry to hear about your problem with fowlers.I didnt take out finance with these because of the reviews and the messing around (very glad) If I were you I would phone citizen advise and also goggle sell of goods act . I am sure under the sell of goods act you have to expect the car to be of satisfactory condition and not to have any defects that you wouldn't expect from a car of the age and miles. Also the fact it went wrong in the first three weeks means the car was not worth the price you paid and not of satisfactory condition also maybe look in to the fact you got the wrong paperwork as the contract you sign could be void so you may not be tied to them anymore.

Please please please contact the Financial Ombudsman AND Trading Standards who will take care of this for you. I had horrendous problems with this company but thanks to letters to them from both these government bodies i managed to get the car taken back plus get a full refund on my deposit. My dealings with Fowlers were never good. I was even threatened by a male member of staff over the phone telling me he was 'coming for me'! I called 999 and reported him and as far as i know he was sacked immediately? Please people STOP using this company. There are other reputable companies to use. ...do your research. I don't know how or why Fowlers are still trading as they actually went into administration in 2009? This information came directly from the Financial Ombudsman when dealing with my case. Good luck and if you need any help. ..message me on here and I'll see what i can do.

if it says this is a hire purchase agreement then when you make that final payment the car is yours if it don't what it means is after you make the 130th payment there will be a one off amount you have to pay or you can give the car back just like a lease agreement

Firstly. ..report them to the Financial Ombudsman. Most of their spin off companies went into liquidation in 2009 and legally they're not allowed to trade but are using Fowlersfinance to get round it. Secondly report them to trading standards for selling a vehicle not fit for purpose. Thirdly....write to them and tell them you want your finance rescinded. ... Your full deposit returned in full and the car taken back or you'll sue them in court. If you need any more help let me know. I succeeded with getting Fowlers to do just that. ...it took about 6 months but believe me. ...was worth it in the end!

Finance are aware of the issue and have said that Fowlers will fix the car in their own garage. It's now been 4 days since they said they would pick up the car.. So I have sent finance a formal letter stating that they have 14 days to resolve the problem. No answer as of yet and citizens advice have advised me to just wait for an answer. It's now been 6 days without a car and the more days go by the more worried I am that at the end of all of this I'll have to pay £800 to get my car fixed.. Thanks for your help xx

Fowlers will say they have 8 weeks to deal with it, not want you want to hear when the car is in bits due to a massive mechanical failure and taking up space in your local garage, is it a Ford Focus by anychance? Fowlers will tell you to wait and wait and wait until you do it yourself, then say you paid too much, not reimburse you, jump on their horses and ride off into the wild west to rip someone else off!!! Try ringing the woman on the warranty side of it, she is a hoot!!! she is trained to say that nobody is there to authorize any work and they have 8 weeks to decide if they are going to fix anything!! Probably also worth doing a bit of research into the millage the car had when it went to the auction house, and what it had when it left fowlers, i did and it was very intresting!!!So intresting that when i mentioned it, they came in the dead of night and took the car lol, best thing you could do is try your hardest to get the car back to them and cut all ties with them!!
