“MODA furnishings in disguise”

A nightmare experience from start to finish. Never before have I ordered something that has required so many emails and phonecalls to finally receive everything I ordered. Eventually 2 and a half months since my order I finally received the last bits. You couldn't make it up. A day after my original order I received an email stating that the corner sofa we ordered was missing the square piece. They were happy to deliver the rest and would deliver the remainder 2 weeks later. Neither happened. My emails were then ignored. A phone call and suddenly the items missing changed to footstools and the table. After much fuss and my request for a refund, we were promised firstly a discount then some free throw cushion, then low and beyond we were told our order was ready. We received part of our order from one of their warehouses and part from another but no communication this was going to be in completely separate deliveries. Alas it was also missing 3 items. Many phone calls to confirm what was going on. The remaining items were out of stock, a further 2 week wait. Cue another 3 weeks and another phone call from myself. Then another a week later and 2 separate deliveries again. I've never known a company to need to be chased so hard to deliver what you paid for 2 months ago. Neither the discount or the throw cushions were honoured. Although we were ultimately pleased with our sofa and table garden furniture, I would never use this company again for shear incompetence. You've been warned!! They just don't know what they are doing.

“Don't be fooled!”

Don't be fooled by the positive comments here. I purchased an apple daybed as another daybed was out of stock and at first I was really pleased. A few months later the large round cushion began to fall apart at the seam. I contacted select and they said that they would replace it. I was so impressed with the service that I ordered a Rimini lounger and again I ordered that because the one I wanted wasn't in stock. I never got the free cushions despite months and months of contacting them. Regarding my apple daybed cushion I never got a replacement. I was told to attach photos which I did and again nothing. I was told to get a machinist to fix the cushion and they would repay the money. I didn't trust them as they had already lied to me hence I never got the cushion repaired or replaced. As for the free cushions I never got them either. My Rimini lounger is now 2 years old and the rachet mechanism does not work ie I can no longer use it in the sitting up position without props wedged behind it. All in all this is a very poor company who is only interested in getting your money. There is NO customer service when things go wrong and they should be ashamed of themselves. I would say to anybody thinking of purchasing anything from these sheisters BUYER BEWARE. Regarding star rating they don't deserve one however there is not an option no stars.

“Excellent service with no problems”

After reading several bad reviews about Select Furnishings we were a little apprehensive about using them. We visited their showroom and were impressed with the selection of outdoor rattan furniture they stocked, we chose a corner sofa set with coffee table, footstool and matching planters. They were delivered within 10 days as promised by a very helpful delivery man, unfortunately our cover for the furniture was out of stock but was delivered by courier a few weeks later. We have had no problems at all using Select Furnishings and wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them in the future.

“Thankfully No Real Problems”

Was struggling to find several items that I was looking for, and having seen availability on line I called Select to confirm this was the case. After a helpful conversation I placed my order and arranged delivery. After a couple of days I had not received confirmation and so called to be told the email system was down, but I would receive an invoice by post. By delivery day, no invoice had arrived but payment had been taken on my credit card. I decided to look up online reviews of Select (which I had foolishly neglected to do prior to ordering). I was horrified to read the reviews on this site and spent the day resigned to the fact my delivery would not arrive and I would be faced with weeks of chasing my order. Given this I was pleasantly surprised when my items arrived at 7pm and my order was delivered in full. I thought I had better post a review of my experiences with Select, although I am in no way recommending them. PS I still don't have an invoice!!!

“WARNING!!!!”

Warning to anybody wanting to purchase any furniture of this company, don't do it, this company has been the worst furniture company I have had the displeasure of dealing with, the delivery service is beyond shocking. I placed my order on 6 April 2014 to be told to expect delivery in 3 weeks, 4 weeks later delivery had not arrived I rang to find out where it was and was told it was on the water and it would be another 3 weeks, another 3 weeks later still no delivery yet again I rang to find out where was my delviery to be told it was delayed going on the water and that it will be another 3 weeks till delivery (funny considering when I first rang it was already on the water), another 3 weeks goes by and still no delivery so yet again another phone call to be told yet again its on the water and will be another 3 weeks, now I know China is a long way away but not that far it takes over 3 months and some to be delivered, I have since cancelled my order and should be receiving a refund which I will check and keep chasing, i will also be reporting this company to trading standards because I believe this company should not be allowed to trade, if you read all other reviews you will find the issue has not only been with my delivery but a lot other people have also missed out, unless you can physically pick the product up and walk out of the shop with it I would suggest anyone avoids this place like the plague.

Just to keep people informed this company has now changed it's name to moda furnishings, be under no illusions it is the same company owned by the same people and will still deliver the same awful service, please avoid at all cost.

“Shocking service - go elsewhere”

Similar experience to last few reviewers. Initially got my attention due to advertised '5 day delivery'. Went to the showroom, happy with quality and placed an order in early April. Told at the time it would be 4 weeks and accepted that at time of order. 4 weeks later, told guaranteed delivery in mid May. Rang again and told further delay, but had paid deposit. Guaranteed it would be early June. When we rang in June we were told that we should feel lucky we were getting one at all as 'people are crying out for this'! Only reason holding out is that we were told that furniture arriving next week. Wouldn't book my delivery slot though. Absolutely worst customer service I've ever experienced. It's a joke. You can't blame your supplier, poor excuse for a business.

“Horrific!!!!!!!”

I actually have never dealt with such a company. I can't tell anyone how much to stay away from them. I ordered in early April and was given a late April delivery date. That was then delayed to May then again to mid June and after speaking with them today now early July but not guaranteed. After asking for a solution i.e sending me a set to get me by until mine comes in to the country i was told there was no option to do that and after being offered £30 in compensation i duly cancelled the order and was offered a refund. A company should not advertise quick deliveries only to not have any stock anywhere near the UK. Always quick to blame their supplier for late deliveries but not wiling to take the blame. PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Stay well away from this company”

This company is an utter disgrace. They advertise that they will deliver in 5 days, yet I ordered in early April and now in mid-June we are still waiting with the company unable to offer any insight as to when the sofa set may arrive in the country, let alone be delivered. As such we have now asked for a refund. I knew they had a bad reputation so made sure I ordered over the phone to get an idea of stock availability. I was assured they were expecting a delivery imminently (this was the first week in April). That then swiftly became mid-May, with the goods on a boat en-route from China. Mid-May passed without any contact and a couple of attempts to get more information from them yielded only promises of a call back which never materialised. Called again today (16th June) to be told that they should get brown sofa sets by 4th July but had no idea about grey ones. They were completely unapologetic and seemed not to care about their appalling customer service. They have promised to send me a refund by cheque, but given their record so far I have little faith in this ever turning up and am expecting to have to set the credit card company onto them to recover my money. Do not believe a word they say (the promise about the boat from China has to have been a lie given that it would have long arrived by now) and definitely do not believe the part about the 5 day delivery - my guess would be that they hold no stock and only place an order once they have a customer's money.

This is also the same situation with me I ordered my furniture on 6 April 2014 and was told 3 weeks for delivery next week will be 3 months and I still don't have my furniture, my receipt is left at work but I will be goin to the shop next week to get a full refund. I have been given the same story about the furniture being on the water from china when I first rang and then I left it another 3 weeks to ring and this time was told it was delayed and is now on the water and I should have the furniture by the end of June yet still no sign of it.

I would recommend anyone wishing to purchase any items in this shop to go elsewhere this is appalling service. Lovely furniture they just can't deliver the goods, I will see what happens when I go to get my money back but I too suspect I will have to get the credit card company involved to recover my money.

Ordered garden set in May 2014 last year that came with parasol, cushions and cover included. Furniture was delivered but had 1 chair with a different colour that was replaced 2 weeks later. The furniture cover was delivered in December 2014 and still waiting for the parasol and cushions. Phoned numerous times now to be told the items will be delivered next week, but nothing turned up yet or only to be told we’ll phone you later with an update without ever returning calls. I know it’s only a parasol and cushions and if I knew this company was this shocking I would have ordered somewhere else! If you can, do avoid this company as they are dreadful!

In need of a new addition to the garden we decided that we would have a look at some rattan furniture. Came across Selects website and got browsing. I planned on getting it early and ready for summer so I didn’t have to worry about it later on. Ended up buying the Barcelona corner sofa and it arrived yesterday. Everything turned out ok, I set it up in the garden and it looks fantastic, I didn’t have to assemble anything either which was nice. Just have to wait for the warmer months now.

I had a brief look in Selects showroom a few weeks back to see some of their outdoor rattan furniture. Was quite pleased with what I had seen so I decided to get one of their 6 seat Winchester dining sets online. There was a bit of miscommunication with the company but after a phone call I was told that their internet had been down for the past 2 weeks which had caused some problems. I was assured that the set would be delivered as soon as possible and sure enough it arrived today. The quality of the furniture seems great and well made, would buy from this company again.

“Excuses, excuses!”

Just cancelled my order from October, as I am fed up waiting for the covers and cushions. I have been fobbed off with excuse after excuse for the delays...and apparently, the internet and computer system have been down for two weeks now, so they cannot even find out what's happened to my particular order!! But funnily enough, when I rang up to cancel, my order was found on the system and a cheque is apparently in the post (hope this is not another lie....). Awful customer service, so bad that I didn't even get to find out whether the quality of the products were OK!!! DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS LOT!

Ordered a Sienna Sofa set a week ago and it came today. Was a little disappointed that the glass table top was smashed upon delivery, but a replacement came a few days later so no complaints. It was nice not having to assemble anything for a change. Placed it in the back garden, looks great, just a shame it's winter and I can't use it yet.

NEVER GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY BECAUSE THEY WILL TAKE IT AND LIE AND PROMISE ABOUT DELIVERY. I SPENT £2000 ON FURNITURE ONLY TO BE TOLD IT WOULD BE A MINIMUM OF 2 WEEKS UNTIL DELIVERY RATHER THAN THE FIVE DAYS STATED AND DID I STILL WANT TO MAKE THE ORDER,UNFORTUNATELY I SAID THAT WOULD BE FINE AS LONG AS IT WOULD BE NO LONGER AND WAS ASSURED IT WOULD BE DELIVERED WITHIN THE 2 WEEKS.
