We bought 2 Lorraine Leather sofa's in April 2011. Last year the "Leather" began to disintegrate and the sofa's now look very tatty indeed. We have bought leather furniture on line before and they are still being used and looking good after more than 10 years. We are extremely disappointed that we have had less than 3 years use out of these sofa's. We feel Premium Sofas have misled us.

I bought the maderia sofas in Nov 2011 through groupon. I contacted premium sofas Oct 2012 to say that I wasnt happy with sofas. The arms are square shaped and the padding has all moved. My 2 year old daughter is continously banging her forehead, the back of her head, her face, eyes on the sofas bruising her.I have made premium sofas aware of this. I sent them an email containing photos of the sofas and my concerns on how safe they are.My sofas have also peeled at the backs as other people have said, and they are not leather, definatley on the backs as i can see fabric backing. I originally spoke to [name removed] who told me to email photos, stating what was wrong and the code underneath the sofas over.I did this, never had a reply and was later told she had left. I then spoke to anne on a weekly basis, I was fobbed off continously.from she had to speak to the manufactuors, her being sick and then being passed on to a repair team that never materialised. I last spoke to premium sofas in december 2012 awaiting a upholsterier to contact me. In despriation i contacted groupon in January 2013. Me being nieve I thought they would help and last week was told they cant help and I need to contact premiumsofas. I dont Know what to do,I just want to throw the sofas out but cant afford to replace them. Does anyone have any advice. please do not buy from this company.

I ordered a recliner setteee from these people via a groupon and based on their delivery estimate got rid of our old one.Had an email saying the item had been "delayed at customs",so they hadn't even got the product in the country.Oh and "bonded leather" is vinyl with a VERY thin coatng of leather glued to it.This coating apparently cracks after a very short period of time. Any way to cut a long story short, and 3 weeks 1 more excuse and then nothing,i rang groupon for a refund. To be told i had to get confirmation from Neumanns that the order had been cancelled. After 30 mins of ringing and getting voice mail,i just left a message saying i'd cancelled the order. After i sent several emails(all of which produced a copy of the original invoice in my inbox)i raised a dipute through Paypal to get my delivery charge back(to which i got a dipleased email saying i only had to ask for a refund)How? when you wont answer the phone??But i got my refund the same day(from Paypal) I then contacted groupon again and was told they would get back to me within 10 days, after 2 weeks nothing so i rang them again and whilst on the phone raised another dispute with Paypal and told groupon what i had done. Hey presto,an email 5 hours later saying they had decided to give me my refund. Stear clear groupon and premium sofas,i went to my local CLS and got one(of far higher quality)delivered the next day. And use paypal, you can always get your money back.....

We bought a 3 + 2 Leather recliner set from Premium sofas about 2 1/2 years ago - what a waste of money!! For 'Leather or 'Bonded Leather' - READ AS 'VINYL' The surface peeled off one the the seat backs and our local upholsterer of many years experience informed us it was Vinyl. When I spoke to Premium Sofas no one seemed to want to help until I threatened them with Trading Standards - the owner rang me denying it was vinyl, and suggested my upholsterer was 'mistaken'. He then promised he would call me on Wednesday to sort something out - THAT WAS 4 WEEKS AGO and guess what?? Not a word from them! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS FIRM, in my experience you WILL regret it.

As the general manager of the company I contacted this customer as soon as I heard from the customer service team that there was problem and discussed his concerns at length. We will always stand by the quality of our products but there seemed to be no convincing him despite our offer to have an independent party verify our case and we felt it was pointless taking this any further.

What a pack of lies!! You rang me from your mobile and spent 20 minutes telling me that my upholsterer of some 35 years experience had no idea of what he was talking about. You made no offer of an independent opinion whatsoever. You promised to call me on the following Wednesday to "see if we can reach agreement" - your words not mine. You did not make any further contact. It seems that your after sales services is of a similar quality to the product that you sold me - VERY POOR

Bought two sofas from Premium Sofas. Arrived on time, but like the other reviewer found the quality to be extremely poor leather. After just over 12 months wear the leather has started to peel away from the backing, so now the sofas look very tatty. After some months of telephoning Premium Sofas we have got no satisfaction from them whatsoever, only to be told that if we pay £600 they will let us have another sofa. NO WAY would not waste my money buying from them. UTTER RUBISH!!!

We have sold many hundreds of sofas with the type of leather sold here and we very rarely have complaints. Though we sell some at bargain prices they are still some of the best in the market with a very long pedigree. We have also established a strong reputation for supporting customers with post purchase problems and invite anyone with concerns to contact us even long after they have made a purchase.

We have bought our sofa's 3 and a half years ago, because you advertised these sofa's as leather.. However we noticed a few months ago that the "LEATHER" is beginning to disintegrate and the sofa's now look very tatty indeed. We feel you have misled us in thinking that this suite would be durable. Also recently the leg of one of the sofa's just broke. This suite does not get heavy wear. We have written to you in January but there was no reply. What are you going to do about this?

Premium01's Response to mini592's Review

My name is David and I work for Premium Sofas. Whilst we have had very few complaints about our models, in particular the Madeira, we take all comments on board and have consequently used a redesigned Madeira model to cater for any potential issues. The leather we use is of a higher quality and is now more robust. We have also added enhanced spring seating to maintain comfort and increase durability, and have introduced measures to ensure that faults such as the one described above do not occur. With particular reference to the above review in terms of repairs and reupholstery, we had to use the original manufacturer's restoration department, which unfortunately meant we had little control over the situation. We now use a different manufacturer and, if needs be, have updated our methods of refurbishment and use a rated independent company for work done. We regret the situation described above and I trust the situation is being seen to - we take our customer satisfaction very seriously.
If any users, particularly the reviewer above, have any enquiries please email me at [email protected] and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
