I ordered the Padua TV unit. 2 to 3 weeks delivery stated. I recieved it 3 months later. I recieved a 10 percent discount for the delay, however, the product also arrived damaged. I have recieved no response from my email about the damage. Beautiful product, it is such a shame about the damage, very unrealistic delivery time, and the customer service was poor at times. Stay away from these guys!

“terrible service”

“Assembly nightmare”

This product comes with a large box of screws etc and the instructions are very basic. Had I know it would be so complicated and take so long to assemble, I would never have bought it. It has also recently started falling apart with minimal use :/

“Fale information given constantly”

I oredred a pair of, what looked like, beautiful chairs at a very reasonable price. I was told they were in stock and ready for delivery and even got a delivery tracking reference number from TNT. After 5 days the consignment read 'cancelled'. Nobody from the company got in touch with me and I had to phone to find out what was happening. They told me there was a fault with their system and it gave me false information. They agreed to rush the order through and get it to me within 2 weeks of that date. 2 weeks passed and the items hadn't arrived. After calling them again (4th time) they confirmed that my order was placed too late to go on a shipment from Germany and it would actually be 12 weeks before I would receive the item. I ended up cancelling the order. Really bad customer service, alweays give false information. I wouldn't recommend to use them at all.

“Recently bought a dining table,it arrived broken and...”

Recently bought a dining table,it arrived broken and after having to fill out a claim form and send pictures there was no communication from them via the emails that they always ask you to use hence you are always calling them.We decided we wanted a refund as the quality and service are appalling.After nearly 4 weeks the table has just been collected,and we are now informed their refund policy could take up to 3 weeks,however i seem to remember it taking about 10 minutes to take the payment.Needles to say we are trying to sort this out with the claims manager on monday,i dont expect we will be any happier I wouldn't deal with fashion for home due in main to terrible customer service,on the generous side maybe we were unlucky with the build quality of our table.

“Still waiting...”

I ordered a couple of bedside tables on 31st December 2012. It is now 5th March 2013 and I am still waiting. Apparently they are 'In Transit', whatever that means. It all sounds very suspect to me. I get the odd generic email with the same delivery status and when I contacted the customer service team, all they could tell me was the same thing; "In Transit'! Oh, but they managed to take payment immediately!!

“Big,comfy and fun!”

Ordered two red bean bags for my 16 and 18 year olds to have in their rooms. They love them. They are big! Worth getting an idea by using the measurements on the website to measure the same area on the floor. That said they also can be shaken upright to put against the wall if you need to. The material is hard wearing not soft, but the only complaint I've had is that they are so comfy they can't get out of them! Sure they will be a great success in the garden too if we get a summer!

“Don't waste your money. Very, very poor service and...”

The boxes for my sofa were mixed up so I ended up with half of my sofa and half of someone elses'. I had to chase fashion for Home constantly to get the issue resolved which was a massive inconvenience. I had to take time off work to be at home to get the rest of my sofa, and the delivery only ended up being at 7pm. The quality has also been sub-standard- the feet fell off my sofa after one week and it sits unevenly because I've had to patch up the legs with felt pads. As an apology I got a code for 10% off my 'next order'. This will never get redeemed.

“Check your goods!!!”

Just refused delivery of an item for the second time. They sent me heavily damaged goods the first time round. Offered me a derisory refund to keep it and save them the hassle and expense of replacement. I refused (people don't want damaged goods in their house) and asked for a replacement. I also asked for it to be checked before it left them. Just refused second delivery because inspection at the door revealed damage again but worse still somebody had very crudely tried to touch it up. I feel like they have treated me like an I'm a fool.

“Fashion For Home - Never again!”

Before ordering I wrote to this company asking them for the lead time for delivery of the product. I was quoted some 6 to 7 weeks from my order date so I placed my order. Since I placed my order I received 6 emails over the next couple of months deferring my delivery. The last mail I received stated a final delivery date of some 18 weeks from the order date. They took 100% payment on order! They promised phone calls they did not make and the whole transaction was just a lot of stress and hassle. I ordered in December and my delivery did not come until March. I would not buy from this company ever again. I would have liked to of known before ordering that although they had all my money, they could deliver at their leisure.

One of the basic tenents of customer service is listening to the customer. It's a shame that your reply to customers' identifying your poor communication, follow-through, and/or quality control, is: "We would love to see you back at Fashion For Home so we can show you our great customer service."

You detail nothing about your steps to change, nor do you offer any amends. This is horrible customer service and a pitiful response. For those of us in the industry, your retoric is a clear indicator that you truly could care less about customer service. 9/15 reviews are about poor customer service... this goes far beyond isolated incidents and into the realm of systemic norm! A year is plenty of time to change your ethos, yet you chose not to. What a shame. Go back to ethical business 101.

'Never again' is echoed in this response. Everyone should do themselves a favour and steer clear of this company for a stress free life.

“Great sofa, awful customer service”

Well, we ordered our sofa on the 4th of April and it didn't actually arrive until the 16th of July - more then three months later! It had been advertised as taking around 10 weeks, but it turned out more like 15. All we would get from them was emails saying it was delayed and then delayed some more. There was no concillatory phone contact from them and when I rang up, the customer service person could not have conveyed his lack of care any more clearly. No apologies, nothing. Furthermore when our sofa was in stock I had to hound and hound them by phone to get the delivery company to set a date with me. When we (finally) got our sofa I have to say we were very pleased - its a good product, it looks great, its been constructed really nicely and its very sturdy. I find myself struggling to recommend this company however because of their attitude toward customers. If one of their designs really grabs you and the price is right, I wouldn't say don't go for it, I would just say be prepared to wait (and wait, and wait) and don't bother ringing up Fashion For Home to complain - just go bang your head against a brick wall. It will have the same effect.

“Lovely sofa, but customer service needs a lot of work!!”

Product: "Dowel Sofa" from Fashion for Home Good things first: The sofa is LOVELY! Quality materials, very solid, attention to detail, every bit as good as we had expected, and we have high expectations for furniture. We're very happy with the product. I would give them five stars if only the service were better!! BUT… The company is a bit of a customer service disaster. To their credit, they always answered the phone, were always apparently being proactive, friendly and professional but somehow promises never followed through into action. For example: 1) Sample fabrics never arrived, months later an email came saying they had been dispatched and returned - turns out the address they were sending to was a faint resemblance of our real address. Oh and when I ordered the samples it said it could take 3-4 months or something crazy like that. I was sure it must be a mistake?! 2) We ordered the Dowel Sofa in early November 2011, we were given a delivery date of 10 December. I rang to change my address a few weeks later and found out that actually a 10 January 2012 delivery date was on my order. I had not been informed of this and only found out by accident. 3) 10 January arrived - We were waiting for a call when it arrived in the UK - the call never came. I chased it some days after the 10th and it took THREE calls to get a delivery time/date confirmed. They'd always say 'leave it with me'. And they'd never call back to confirm the delivery. Fashion for home said it was the delivery company’s fault and that the delivery company had a computer failure, but when I called the delivery company direct and asked about this 'failure' they said systems have been fine and they didn't know what Fashion for Home was talking about. (?) The delivery company incidentally was friendly and the two guys that delivered it were friendly and in good spirits even though it was a long way to my front door from the nearest parking place. 4) A final weird customer service problem: An email arrived saying the sofa had been dispatched to my address (two days before it was supposed to arrive) - slight panic as delivery was only supposed to be subject to them calling and setting a delivery time and I didn't know if they had tried to deliver it already. Turns out the email was a misfire (?) To summarise, it was a customer service mess. Someone needs to crack the whip and tidy up the operations side of things. But we couldn't be more happy with the actual sofa - shame about the sloppy service.

“You need a lot of patience to buy from this company”

When I was looking for bedside tables I knew what I wanted and even though the bedside tables I found on this website weren't cheap, I thought I would go for it as they looked nice. I was aware of the time it would take for them to be made/delivered but I didn't expect to be waiting for one of the tables 5 months later. After ordering in September 2011, they were delivered near Christmas. One of the tables was damaged so we refused delivery. I called the company to ask what happens next and they said they would have another sent to us in 2 weeks time. I am still waiting for this. Obviously they had to make the item again, so we've had to wait all over again. When I complained they said I was welcome to cancel the order and get a refund, which was useless for me as I already had one bedside table so I needed the other one obviously to match it. There was no apology. We have received an email saying the table will be dispatched this week, so hopefully after 5 months we will have both bedside tables. I just hope this one isn't damaged and we have to wait another 2-3 months!
