I required a remote control mechanism for the roller door in my newly acquired house. A rep came out and quoted £420. He explained I needed to pay half to order it, and the rest before installation. He told me his machine wasn’t working, so I paid in cash. A month later, I paid the rest by credit card, and it was installed. It quickly stopped working, but they came out quickly and fixed it.
10 months later, I received a bill for £210. Upon querying this, I was told they couldn’t find a record of the first payment. I supplied them with a copy of the order confirmation, clearly showing a deposit of £210 paid, and thought that was the end of it.
Yesterday, 3 months on, I received a letter from a solicitor saying they would take me to court if I didn’t pay within 30 days.
THEY ARE WRONG, if I hadn’t paid, why did they install it? Their record keeping is at fault, but they are victimising me, a pensioner.
It’s a disgrace. Avoid this company like the plague.
