A great delivery service spoilt by the goods being damaged prior to delivery. The cake stand in question was clearly chipped prior to being packed and should not have been sent out in this condition. The price of £25 was a large amount to me, especially not working in these turbulant times. I looked for some cream paint and was able to repaint the damaged area. Thankfully I have sorted it. I really could not face the stress and disruption of trying to send it back. I wouldn't risk buying from this company again.

Unfortunately, despite a quick delivery, the item's packaging was in a very poor condition and, as it was intended as a birthday present, looks like it was purchased from a charity shop. A pity because, other than this, I would have recommended Barnitt's

Bought an Addis 5 Star washing up bowl for £6.99, found exactly same item at Boyes store in Goodramgate for £3.99. Barnitts do not price match. Rang them up today and said that they do not buy in bulk. Should have shopped around !!

After reading these reviews I decided to order a wedding gift for friends through Barnitts. Unfortunately my experience was very different to the ones listed here. Barnitts let me place my order, then later sent me an email saying the item was not in stock and would be coming back into stock in two weeks time. Having spent ages choosing the item I decided it would be ok if my friends waited a little for their gift. 2 weeks came and went with no gift and no contact so I called barnitts, who informed me that the item had not come in and now was not due until another 3 weeks from now. At this point I was too busy to look for another gift and so left the order as it was and decided to cancel if I had time to find something else. I was told Barnitts would not be willing to compensate me in any way for this delay and inconvenience. Finally, 7 weeks after I ordered the item, I received an email telling me it had been delivered. Fortunately my friends were very understanding about the lateness of their gift and the item is good quality. Barnitts then sent me an email asking me how my experience was, to which I replied explaining what had happened, and again I was told they were not willing to offer any compensation. Not very impressed.
