“Earful company”

Poor company. Ordered, made a mistake cancelled within MINUTES. A day goes by and They refused to cancel over email, followed by a ‘coincidental’ dispatched notification so all costs would sit with me (and they made that very clear). Done deliberately and the timeline backs this up. Even told me if I refuse delivery then costs would sit with me…. You couldn't make it up! Poor show of a company - avoid as they pile on the costs to cancel anything.

“Terrible customer support”

I’ve had good dealings with Speedyhen in the past - but, then again, there haven’t been any niggles requiring customer support. Made an order for a Christmas present, via Amazon, back on 13th December - the money went out of my account a week later, but no delivery made. I’ve been trying to resolve this since 29th December, including several phone calls to Amazon, but no joy. The order is apparently showing on their system as ’pending’, and they say they can’t do anything, and that I need to contact Amazon, which I’ve done. No doubt, if they see this message, they’ll reply to say (yet again) it’s Amazon’s fault, and there’s nothing they can do to resolve - but Amazon say otherwise. I’m happy to believe this is a computer glitch - and Amazon have tried contacting Speedyhen themselves - but this company ignore them and me, and just bounce it back to me, rather than making even the slightest effort to resolve directly.

“Not in stock”

ordered a book for xmas that was shown in stock on 29/11/2017. I checked 16/12/2017 as it had not arrived.Book was shown as on order! No email updates.Very poor customer service refunded to my paypal account. If yoy do buy use paypal and check account frquently for book status

“Don't buy Filofaxes from them...”

...unless you want to receive one in used condition with last years diary in it! Abysmal customer service, take 48h to reply and then are not in the slightest bit helpful. If you do decide to buy anything from them, use PayPal as you've got more chance of getting decent service via PayPal when they send you a damaged/old/used item.

My Filofax leather organizer started to fall apart after 3 weeks and Speedy Hen will not repair or replace it. Nasty, aggressive customer service as well.

“avoid at all costs”

pre ordered a book from this company come release nothing called them to be told its like this we are really sorry we are having problems at the moment due to it being in high demand we have been allocated 800 copy's they will be sent direct from our suppler day later received a email we are very sorry we cant supply the order well you had no problem taking my money back in august along with other peoples money lets say 800 pre ordered at the lower price of £12.90 so £12.90 x 800 = 10k plus sat in your accounts then you have to tell people to contact you for a refund is a joke you should auto issue refunds or better still not take the customers money and launder it in your account for months on end take payment when its ready to ship

“Utterly Abysmal. AVOID.”

Nobody bother with SpeedyHen. They're absolutely appalling. I placed two orders earlier this year; one item being in stock and one item being a pre-order, and they couldn't deliver either of them, but were happy to take my funds immediately. The first item, despite showing as "Instock", became unobtainable straight after I paid and they had no date for a restock, so I cancelled it. The second item was a pre-order, which I paid upfront for, and despite it being released only yesterday, they are already out of stock and, again, have no idea if/when it will be restocked. I've cancelled that too. They are happy to take orders indefinitely for items, taking the money instantly, despite never getting enough stock to cover the amount ordered. They also don't bother to notify you if something becomes out of stock, or if your order can't be honored, and if you have paid orders in place, be sure to check your account regularly, as they'll just keep your cash until you ask them to do otherwise. They have a duty to tell customers if an item they have ordered, and paid for, becomes unobtainable through them, but they only appear to do this if you contact them first and ask questions. (You can also expect pointless, inaccurate, copied and pasted responses from their team. Particularly the person I dealt with .) Their staff come across as unbearably rude. I literally got a forwarded reply from them which I had been previously sent over two months ago, despite it not pertaining to the same order inquiry. Pathetic.

“AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

i purchased three books from speedy hen a while ago. the books arrived later than scheduled and all three arrived damaged. the packaging was appalling and did not secure the books. i informed them and sent pictures of the damaged books as requested. they offered me a 20% discount if i kept the damaged books but i refused. i wanted to return the damaged books and replaced with new ones. they ignored my requests for about two weeks . after finally informing them i would sue their company, they replied and lied they had not received any of my emails. they organised a free collection of the books. afterwards they told me that the books were no longer in stock. but they had those three books for sale on Amazon.. i asked for a refund and this took another two weeks for me to get. this whole saga took five agonising weeks! this company never apologised to me about the extended delivery time i endured, never apologised about the damaged books and never wanted to refund or replace my books. it was a horrible experience and speedy hen were rude and condescending to me when communicating. they don't care about their customers, standards and reputation. i would never recommend this company to anybody. Please, please avoid at all costs. i buy from book depository and wordery in the UK. any of these two are excellent. i had a damaged book from book depository. after sending pictures, they told me to keep the damaged book and sent a new replacement undamaged. no hassle. this saga took only a week.

“Awful customer service ”

Terrible customer service. Failed to update address as requested, even though I received an email confirming the address had been amended, now blaming me for this change and quite blatantly lying about not receiving emails which they definitely did receive as they replied to them. Refusing refund even though I do not have the product I paid for which is entirely their fault. Awful. Do not use these sellers. No respect for their customers.

“Appalling packing. Books always arrive damaged.”

I collect hardback graphic novels which are often heavy & expensive. SpeedyHen's packaging is really poor & the books are not protected. They always arrive damaged. I have emailed the MD/owner & doesn't care. Won't be buying from them again.

“Abysmal service”

The book I ordered arrived damaged due to inadequate packaging and also with some damage clearly having been incurred prior to packing. I was offered a 15% discount if I kept it but requested a replacement in good condition. This arrived with damage due to the same, inadequate, packaging. At each stage I was asked to provide photos of the damage so SpeedyHen could "send them to the publisher for their quality checks". I twice requested a Freepost address or pre-paid label for the return of the books and was ignored. They instead asked me to repack and label the two damaged books and wait in for a day for their courier to collect them. 25 days after ordering the book and being charged for it, they finally got around to initiating a refund.

“Bad packaging and slow response”

Ordered a good quality art book. It arrived with the spine ripped and the packaging damaged. I was offered a 20%refund which I refused as I wanted the book. Another copy was sent, this also arrived damaged in the same way! Item returned for a refund. I had to provide photos of damage and photos of return postage receipts and then I had to keep requesting the refunds. The process took ages, was disappointing. I would rather have had a pristine book in good condition in the first place. It seems their packaging is thin quality and quality control poor. Not keen to order again even if prices are a bit lower as it is too much fuss.

“NO QUALITY CONTROL”

I ordered a very expensive book from Speedy Hen through Amazon, a book "for life" that I use every day, and expected it to be immaculate. It had a big blob of glue on the side so pages were sticking together. I managed to scrape it off but it left a rough dark/light ugly looking patch. I was reluctant to go through the hassle of returning it, but in the end I decided I couldn't live with this. They offered me 20% refund which is pittance - 50% would be more like it as they can't sell it again anyway. I said I didn't want to be left without the book for many days but I had to return it first. They promised express delivery of an immaculate copy the following day, however I waited in vain (stuck in the house when I had better things to do). Turned out I had to send them a consignment number, whatever that is. I have other things to do in life than to pay attention to details like this, and in any case they might have let me know they were missing it and therefore unable to ship the book. I now ended up without the book for several days as there was a weekend coming up, still being stuck at home Monday and maybe Tuesday too. I'm so disappointed. I wonder whether they buy faulty stock and sell it a bit more cheaply than other sellers, thus making a good profit. The first delivery was speedy, but I never expected to have all this unnecessary hassle and the book will always remind me of it.

“Missing goods”

Order a DVD box set at beginning of December. The DVD never turned up on day it said. Being nearly Christmas I gave them a few extra days but still nothing. So I contact them and they said that it run out of stock and that it would be 3-5 weeks till more came in. Again being nearly Christmas I decided to wait till after Christmas. But guess what it's febuary and my dvd has still not come. They now say it must of been lost in post. So we have gone from our of stock to lost in post. In response speedy hen blame everyone but them selves. And reading other people comments looks like I am not the only person who has been let down.

“Still waiting for parcel”

“Would have given "ZERO" Stars if I could.”

Speedy hen should be "prosecuted" for misleading as they are more like "slowest chicken" or "no show egg". What makes them one of the "TERRIBLE" online stores is that they don't have a Geographical number to call. This is on purpose as like myself, many won't want to spend another £10 on phone calls and still have no guarantee of a result. Considering their head office is at Baker Street, London, they could have waked to my home and handed the book personally as it would have only have taken them a few hours to walk here and return. Will never recommend these and will never use them again as apart from the £20 I have now lost to these people, my daughter will now miss the A-Level assignment that is due in next week and all because the misleading "Speedyhen" have not delivered the book she needed and they have had two weeks. They are quick to take the money but a snail could have delivered by now....

“BEWARE OF SPEEDYHEN”

I am writing this review with the hope to be of help to anyone who might ever consider ordering from speedyhen. I ordered a book from them (quite expensive I should say)and paid for express delivery as well as I needed it urgently. I did get the parcel in time, but they have put in the wrong item, can you imagine my disappointment, I asked for a refund, they chose to ignore this, and instead offered to redeliver my book.To this present day I have no book, no money back, and no idea of what is going to happen. So,staying away from them is the best thing to do!!!!!!!!!!!

“very poor customer service notsospeedyhen”

ordered 3 items from speedyhen at the end of dec2013; a book, a cd and a dvd. the dvd was delivered about a week later but the other items were put on backorder, a week or so later i noticed that the book i ordered was available on amazon so i emailed speedyhen to ask for an estimated delivery time..... no response, so i telephoned them and the person i spoke to said that it would take weeks before they could fulfill the order, i then requested that speedyhen cancel the order as expecting me to wait weeks for something i can get in 3 days elsewhere was not on, they said they did cancel the order but online it was still active when i looked at my speedyhen account so i requested that the status be changed to 'cancelled', they have not replied yet again, so i have now asked them to cancel and close the account - again no response. BUYER BEWARE don't expect a speedy response from the lacklustre customer service team

“christmas present not sent!!”

VERY disappointing service all round. i ordered on 8 Nov 2013 was to be dispatched for delivery by 17 Nov 2013 No dispatch note sent no information from seller until i personally chase them apparently book was lost in post however i was never notified of dispatch which is apparently automatic- very suspect - Did they send it - they said they did however, i am unsure -they offered redelivery to a different address as i was going home for christmas - i took this option. No confirmation returned so i tried to confirm this with them and only then did they let me know this was not possible anymore.they offered a refund again which i have now taken - lets hope it is not as difficult to get that as it has been to get a book from a bookseller! i certainly will not be going near this seller again. I have learnt a my lesson, and hope it will help others.

“beware of speedy hen on ebay”

I purchased a boxset of dvd's from a company called speedy hen on ebay ,when I received the boxset it was not as described I returned the boxset with proof of posting Ist class this company maintain they have never received the boxset and keep asking me for the tracking number knowing full well I only have proof of posting They relying on the fact I will have to claim from the post office ,while they pocket my money and fleece the post office I have seen more very bad reviews about this company and I advise anyone who uses Ebay not do business with them

The same thing happened to me ,Speedyhen sent me a double order charged both then told me to post one back for refund.I have never been reimbursed and every time I contact them I am asked for a tracking number which they know I don't have , I reported them to Play where I had the misfortune to find them and still waiting to see if play can help,stay away from speedyhen

I have some advice for you I forgot to send the boxset by recorded delivery and was told by speedy hen they never received the boxset this is their policy and the company is corrupt
the way I got my money back was a long campaign of sending email after email for weeks on end and the cruncher was I told speedy hen I was going to ruin their business by putting loads of comments on the social media Facebook and Twitter and all the review sites after I wrote this I received my refund the next day
I hope this helps you get your money back Their are more company's to avoid Echoice being one othem
