Emerald Wholesale
I too tried to buy an iPad air in January 2014 and it never came, they said there was a delay with the supplier, then the next thing received an email saying they has ceased trading and I would get a full refund, which has never arrived. After email after email was told that the refund had been issued and would be in my account within a few days, still waiting. I contacted my bank The Halifax and they contacted Emmerald Wholesale bank which is the Coop, they requested they send a full refund which Emmerald Wholesale refused to refund. I am at a loss as to what to due next, I keep emailing them but am not getting a where, any suggestions.
Emerald Wholesale (ipad Wholesalers)
I ordered an Ipad Air from them, for £406.00 on Jan 13 but due to non delivery, I cancelled the item and demanded a refund on Jan 27. Apparently Jan 30 my refund was 'processed', but until today Jan 27 (more than a month) I have received nothing in my Bank account. I have been promised multiple times from them (all written) that my refund was being processed, but Voila, on 18 Jan I was informed the Company had ceased trading.
I am so upset, until today they keep promising I will get my refund back. Has anyone had the same nasty experience?
The update is that despite all that promises of paying the balance monies, they never have. I've given up on their empty promises and the daily email to them has taken a toll on me, I have run out of steam trying to chase them for over a year.
Thanks for your input; continuing the saga
I know how you feel. I've been there! Although I haven't got the Paypal excuse one yet though! They will first promise you Bank transfers like a thousand times (which never happens), then they say they've sent a Bank draft to your address (which never appears or got lost in the post), and even sent an agent (or UK Emerald Branch representative) to personally deposit the money in your account. Obviously you will never see the money in any of the above scenarios - but this has led me to believe they've been using all the above excuses to buy themselves time whilst trying to sort out their finances / cash flow.
I suggest you hassle them on a daily basis - even if you're not getting a response from them, they ARE receiving your emails. I know another 2 people who are in the same boat.
One lucky customer has managed to get some money back from Emerald. They paid her in Installments. So I'd say just preserver communicating with them. Good luck.
Good news for you; I am getting nowhere with them - just constant promises and no action - now just getting ignored albeit that payment promises were by instalments; by bank transfer, by bank draft and by Paypal!
Updates to my case: After about 80+ emails I have now managed to get Emerald to refund me in part. This has taken alot of effort on my part and constant hassling via email on a daily basis. They have so far paid £200 out of my £406, and they've promised 2 more payments will be forthcoming . I hope to receive the remainder of my monies and put this nasty experience behind me.
